Connection timed out

So me and my buddy downloaded this game not too long ago, and were able to play it one night no problem.
We made it to almost lvl 15, figured one night to start things off was nice.

So about a day or so ago we tried to get back online. Both of our games letting us login, but the moment we clicked "Play" it tries to connect, and within a FEW SECONDS, not 1-2 minutes, or 3, or 4, but a few seconds it says "Connection timed out, please retry again later." tried reinstalling on both our consoles, left it for 24+ hours, no changes on either of our systems and still the same problem.....

    Reproduction is as simple as it sounds...

    1: Launch game
    2: Make it to the main menu (Play, options, arc, etc.)
    3: Click play, get the same impossible message after a few seconds that it's "Timed out"

    Does your modem/router have an internal hardware firewall? If so, try lowering its settings or disabling it. On mine, if I have it block Multicast and Peer-to-peer applications, I cannot play Neverwinter (and some other MMOs too).

    Was this resolved? This is the exact issue I'm having right now,
    I could get on perfectly fine before the elemental evil update.
    Got on a couple times and really enjoyed it but can't get it to work anymore.

    This time it's different. Someone has been DDOSing the game servers, according to official posts. It's been really bad off and on since Sunday afternoon PDT.

    I know, but it's been happening for the past week. I check if the streamers are on and when they are, I still get the message. I don't know how to fix it
