So I want to upgrade my Rank 10 Radiant to 11. I put in a Preservation Ward and voila it worked on first try. I want to make a dark 7 for my augment. After that easy rank 11, I am like hey I will just get some blue marks and not use a ward. I use up like 12 marks before the success. Could have just bought the 7. That has me wondering if others have some weird stories. Share them please.

    I recall going through like 7 skill kits before getting a success on a profession node.

    went through 23 arcane kits in one go
    also not in this game but ran Icecrown citadel every week through all of lich king and never rolled above an 8 when deathbringers will dropped

    Cant get a single crit pet ring (commander i think or avenger i cant recall), but can get a lightfoot thief.

    Had the necklace artifact in the eLol chest. But somehow I misclicked the armor piece I had to choose. Closed the window and left the instance. Opened my inventory and screamed, "NOOOoooo!!!!!", when I couldn't find the necklace in there. The very next time I finished eLoL, the necklace was in the chest. Crazy.

    10,000+ lockboxes? That's 12,500 dollars worth of zen! (Not really since it'd be bought using the 10 key rank, but even so).

    My DC is a lucky son of the gun. Got the Young Yeti the first time he visited the inn. Got the cultist in 2nd mini dungeon visit in WoD. Then, he got the 2nd cultist a few times later. He also got BI arm early.

    Either DH enchants are broken or I haven't had one proc since SH's dropped. That might be some bad rng.

    upgrading smth with 90% chance took me 4 times, while the same thing to epic with 10% chance took me 1 try -.-

    Got x2 eye of lathandar artifacts to drop within the same week on my HR. After a year of trying, I've never seen it again on any of my other characters.

    My girlfriend got black ice guants the first day IWD went live.
    We grid'ed IWD every day, till I finally took a break from the game after mod 5.
    Never did get one.

    Got a Fallen Dragon Shield on my first VT run.
    I still use it as a transmute. (costs 50k AD each change)

    I farmed IWD for month, to get BI gaunts my CW. While I got 3 on my GWF (without farming after the first drop) and none for my CW, I gave up. Later I famed some HEs for the lvl cap raise. Opened them after they fixed the HE drop on preview. Guess who had the gaunts a few weeks before they bacame obsolete?
    Chars: CW, DC, GF, GWF, HR and TR.

    I was farming for weeks for the Amulet of Valindra for my CW when they were still worth about 1.5mil each in the early period of Mod 6.

    Then I got put in an instance at the last campfire with a random group of people and got the amulet to drop in both the normal dungeon chest and in the one which requires the valindra key. I equipped one and sold the other to buy a shard of valindra to complete my valindra set :)

    When I was just starting out the game and had no ADs...
    An Owlbear belt dropped in eSOT during mod4 and was worth 6million AD.
    I actually won the roll.

    When looking on the Auction house to sell it, I saw an Owlbear belt mistakenly posted for 800k instead of 8million AD. I didn't have the ADs So I shouted in guild chat for someone to buy it and split the profit, and they did. I sold my eSOT owlbear for 6million AD. After they sold this other 800k Owlbear for 6million AD, they sent me stack of peridot as thanks.... a <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> stack of peridot. I got pissed and told guild leader, and this caused huge problems because the guidlie who ripped me was also a guild leader. Eventually I got my 2million AD cut.

    So 8.5million AD profit gained.
    But I invested it all in RP stones 1 months before RPs from hoard enchants became bound, like Black opal stacks for 300k, and so all in all ended going from nothing to making over 60million AD from that one owlbear belt drop.

    Another time I won a DEX belt (2.2mill AD) and trade it for an INT belt (4mill AD) and traded this for a Perfect vorpal (6mill AD). The beauty of uptrading.

    When I set out to farm for Black ice Gloves in mod4, I was prepared it was going to take forever. But I got them within 15minutes on the 2nd HE I completed.

    Ran IWD HEs daily on my HR and GF for months - never saw a glove drop (over 100 major HEs on each one).

    CW - second major HE
    SW - first major HE
    DC - fifth major HE

    RNGesus felt bad.

    to Becky - I feel your pain - I've never seen anyone in my party get an Eye much less found one in my chest drops. The Eye is myth I tellz ya ;)

    I ran karrundux over 100 times on my GWF and never got AoW bracers.. broke down and bought them , for what was a fortune back then to me.. 800k or something.

    DC.. I ran mad dragon dozens of times, failed every time for HP hat, bought it and bam, next mad dragon run.. what dropped as common, the HP helm and I won the roll with 100.. sold it more then I bought the original by a k or two.

    CW.. I sear, I think I got my high V set in less then a dozen runs or something crazy, like maybe FH 3-4 times, but I got everything else in the first try, I thought that was normal for awhile =P.

    Ive probably ran esot and lol like 3000 times with 6 toons and IVE NEVER won a haarls.. always had to buy them. Got the stupid breyers, but never haarls.

    I hate that book.

    Eye , I really want one on my paladin, but I know it wont drop.. my gwf has gotten like 3 in dread ring.. and I have no use for it other then for RP value

    I still think the EYE should be buy-able or drop in VT as well.. as unbound.

    O... for my dc, I literally spent like 3 weeks straight on my DC doing every major HE, with like a 99% great success rate and never got the bracers, finally got it, but I hated IWD for awhile after that.. my cw got it on the first weekened or something, when dps was getting them left and right.

    Overall they way too harshly gated bracers, I think we can agree with that.

    Let's see: 2 Belts on one Dragon Herald Run, Owlbear on 1 key, Giant Forest Stag on less than 10 keys. 2 Nightmares - One's now Mystic Purple, Two Phoera's - One's mystic Purple, Oghma's Artifact on less than 10 keys, . . . That's all I remember.

    Started a fresh new SW (at the time), got her very first made Adamantine Gauntlet (after all the campaign progression), went to Phantasmal Fortress... *BOOM* Eye of Lathander. Fun Fact: I wanted it as a memento and dont intend to use it.

    Another event was about the dreaded BI gloves. Was with my GF in Icewind Pass, Remorhaz showed up. I ran close to the border area (wasnt bothering to do the HE at all), but I had KV up (was running quests with a friend) and I died (the aura mightve caught some ppl around, so I got one-shotted), then the HE window popped up, BI gloves in there. The irony? It was during the week with the Black Ice Pack promo giving the option to choose a piece. And I had picked the glove a few hours earlier...

    Mod 5 CN runs:
    In mod 5, CN was a joke, easy to run, so I cleared it a few hundred times for fun, with guildies or randoms. Every single time the hunters knives or bow dropped, I won it. I ended up winning 15 bows and 23 sets of ancient knives, with no losses of those items in between. It became a standing joke with people I ran with often, due to the fact that the bow and knives always went my way. To put that in perspective, the probability of winning the bows like that is 0.2^15 and the probability of winning the knives was 0.2^23.....really low chances. To this day I still do not have a HR toon though :p

    Mod 6:
    In mod 6 I had 14 lostmauth's horn drops.
