The only way I can find without cheating or using real life money is to have multiple characters. Even that, it will take a long time to be "effective". That took me a year.
For getting T1/T2 gear, you need to join a guild that is willing to help.
So in that year, let's look at your bell curve.
Obtained M3 BIS armor -> Obtained M6 T1 armor -> Obtained M6 T2 armor -> Upgraded M6 T2 armor
Obtained M3 BIS pants/shirts -> Obtained M6 BIS pants/shirts
Obtained M3 BIS rings -> Obtained M5 BIS rings from Jewelrycrafting -> Obtained M6 BIS rings from Jewelrycrafting
Obtained M3 BIS mainhand -> Obtained M4 BIS artifact mainhand -> Obtained M5 BIS artifact mainhand ->Obtain M6 BIS artifact mainhand
......
The list goes on and on like that, with anywhere from 1 to 3 upgrades in the last year. guess what happens in 5 days
That's why I think the end game is totally crp for a new lvl 70

I'm probably not going to bother getting the stronghold gear. If they end up releasing the Drowned Orb and the like, I might go for that though.

No, this is WAY too fast for me. LOL. I had no M3 BiS. Or, I did buy M3 BiS (certainly not BiS when it was used) when it was M4.
In the end of a year, it was M5. I got M4 Bis Armor, pants/shirt/rings/etc.
The only reason I could get M4 Bis Armor, pants/shirt/M5 rings/etc was I had AD after one year.
Then, mod 6 hit. Another 4 months to get r8 enchantment/runestone, new shirt/pants, new rings, loyal rings, upgrade MH/OH, Artifacts.
Then, got upgraded M6 T1 gear because I joined a guild last month.
I have no plan to get M6 T2 because mod 7 is coming.
Because I progress "so slow", the mod change before I can get the BiS for that mod. On the other hand, not sure if I care since the gear I have is good enough for me play "effectively".
*** The game can read your mind. If you want it, you won't get it. If you don't expect to get it, you will. ***
