Changes to invoking

Why is it that the first prayer of the day taking between 45 secs to 1 minute before you will allow the char to invoke?

If this is YAAB (Yet Another Anti-Bot) measure, once again you hurt the legit players more....

Just like the professions delay, the bots don't give a rats and can get around it. Us, you know, the legit players suffer.

Please look at this ridiculous delay and remove it.

Thanks!

I think it is a bug.

When you first login and are invoking for the first time that day - hit Ctrl I, or click the button and wait. Don't keep hitting it. Wait until you see the rewards dialog flash up. It will just flash for a millisecond. Then, hit CTRL I again, it should work. I was having this issue too, and once I saw the pattern, I haven't had a problem. Now... bug? Definitely. Annoying? Absolutely... but still, this should save you some time in any case.

This. Its definitly super annoying, and that combined with the fact that the bags you get now for your 2nd and 4th invokation makes the changes they made to the system not so great. Hopefully they'll have it working properly here in the next week or two.

The new "feature" is certainly annoying.

It did not reduce the no. of clicks needed per invoke so that's not a streamline too.

Overall, it takes a longer time to invoke now than before the patch... *sigh*

The intent, to me, is pretty obvious: Throw players a bone w/ a free refining stone twice a day, while also sneaking in a Zen store coupon. Making the bags that you get non-stacking means you *have to* go through the process of opening them, thus seeing those coupons.

Admittedly, it has worked on me, to an extent - I've used several of the "40% off an enchanted key" coupons thus far.

I wish they'd fix the flickering window and having to invoke multiple times just for 1 invocation, however...

    1. press Ctrl + i
    2. wait animation, wait for text "Press alt to return the game"
    3. press Ctrl + i again or left click invoking button in right up corner.
Works for me on every 1st invokes of the day. 2nd and after needs only Ctrl + i.

You saw the pattern but in reality and wai effect from what you said: "When you first login and are invoking for the first time that day - hit Ctrl I" should be - "Wait until you see the rewards dialog" and actually see it completed, not see flash up and vanish ! There is where your invoke command is bugged out to have no effect, just flash for missing string and return to entry point.
All in all this new invoke is just another lag inducing feature, just as the last change (start of M6) was. Even the 7 year old child can figure out that making all the people constantly log in and out 6 times more than before, minute after minute all day long will induce so much lag from connection requests and severely affect their ancient servers. But no, maybe devs are no smarter than a 2th grader and decided - we are doing it. Last week they supposedly upgraded their network to no effect. In fact dragon runs are more laggy then before - even when you are among the first who reach next dragon and start attacking before others lag builds up right away.

You might have seen it already, but confirmed in another thread that not every bag is supposed to spew out a coupon.

Edit: Because ****ing out mild vulgarity made my post look a lot more profane than it was.

Works for me on every 1st invokes of the day. 2nd and after needs only Ctrl + i.

    Yep - that's the answer.

Bottom line is that it actually gives you two rewards back to back for 1st and 2nd invokes of each new game "day." So this is a bug that works in the advantage of the players. :)

    Uhh, no?

The invoke doesn't go through until the reward interface blips, but you're only getting rewarded once, after the successful invoke.

it takes 10-15 tries on most of my chars this is quite a problem when you have 40 chars.

testing how does it work?? #smf

If you follow the above mentioned method (as a temp measure before they fix it) instead of keep hitting <ctrl-I> rapidly, you only need to type <ctrl-I> twice.

It works for me too. As long as I wait to see the interface flash up after the first keypresses, my invoke works on the second go.

The important factor in getting the first invoke to work is WAITING.

You invoke ONCE. You wait. The screen flashes briefly, you THEN hit invoke one more time. It works, you switch to the next one.

Spamming ctrl-I over and over makes it take MUCH longer. Just be a little patient.

It is just plainly way to slow now. I didn't care for the changes they made to invoking with mod6 but making it even worse is just idiotic. Just change it back to at least how it worked before last weeks update.

seemed to me a good way to reduce botting, only did it the first invoke.

I don't think so. If it is for reducing botting, it is pretty stupid way to do so. <ctrl-I>, sleep 30 seconds, <ctrl-I>, logout. That is all you need to do for botting which does not care about waiting.

It appears that for a low amount of alts less than 20 or so the bug is gone. However, the bug kicks back in beyond that. I have 48 alts. However, since I know how to deal with the bug, I hold both keys down and it works. If I hold too long it brings up four screens. I am getting better and only bringing up three screens. It is believed that the bug is kicking in becuase it is trying to stop someone from botting or script invoking. I don't bot thats why it takes me forever. If I do my professions with my first invoke slow enough then I get less screens popping up.

Problems still with invoking the lower level you are going to get less Astral Diamonds you get compared to the promised amount. I have checked the rough before and after. I have logged on and off and no if your lower than 70 you do not get the full AD most of the time.

Second issue, if you are 70 you do get the Astral Diamonds. However, XP is reduced for you instead of getting 25% you get (drum roll) 3.6% some of the time. The amount of xp is not shown in your messages anymore as in the previous 1-69. It does show up in the pop up screen which is often incorrect. I verified this using math and watching the xp on my 48 alts.

If you do all your invokes you do not get a 100% chance to get another coin for trying for a coal. I saw yesterday 6 out of 48 times failed to give the reward at all.

The kick bug is still active if you are changing your alts to fast some of the time. It happens about the same alt so yep its real.

Invoking still has the bug when you make a level over 70 of maybe giving you alot of xp or it can reduce your level back to level 69 1/2 way. For some reason it raises back at an increased rate. One day of invoking sends it back to level 70.

It's a lot simpler than some people are making it out to be.

It works best (for now) if you actually click the invoke icon.

    Click.
Wait 6 seconds (slow count to 6 or something) then click again. Done.

My method is pretty simple and I imagine many others follow the same peradigm: first login is often invoke+professions. So I simply open professions window - click Invoke icon - claim the top three completed professions - click invoke again (it works this time) - continue claiming professions and onward as usual.
