DPS companion for healing DC

adriaen666adriaen666 Member Posts: 69 Arc User
I've started playing my DC and I can't really deal any damage to lvl 70+ mobs. I am 100% healer and that's a problem with soloing DR, Sha, IWD (I don't think about WoD actually).
Is there any nice and cheap companion that could help me with kicking the mobs?
I got five normal companions and now I think about any blue/purple one.

Cheap? Dunno. Use the warlock companion for mine, though she's righteous. Nice AoE and applies DoT at rank 30. Works great for proc'ing bonding runestones, and uses 2 talisman slots and SCA gear with talisman/sword knot are super cheap atm.

The HP increase on mobs is hurting the heal spec DC right now. I didn't get a chance to change around companions yet but I did notice that it took a long time to kill things now, longer than it used to, which was already long.

Cold Iron Warrior does a truckload of single target damage and has a good AOE attack.

He's like a little pocket GWF.

From the descriptions, the Black Ice Prospector has very similar attacks, with a much better active bonus, and is a relatively inexpensive epic companion.

Nah, CIW has Sure Strike and that damage buff he gets at Level 30 is serious business for soloing.

I use a rimefire (ice?) golem that I raised to purple.... he is the tank and striker, I am the healer :-) it's long but doable. you can also use a group.

Increase your dps via pet abilites and plink plink plink..

Game maps are too onesided to dps atm, its happened before (start of iwd) we are on the down cycle of this HAMSTER again.

If they just lower all mobs by one level, we will start seeing many more crits ect.

There is virtual no difference in using one of these comps or just using a stone.. pull out both and try it. Not saying its wrong to use it, just saying, your not going to speed anything up.

Just because you're a healing spec, doesn't mean that you have to slot only healing type spells while you're soloing. Only slot dmg spells and the soloing should go much faster.

    lol the two of you...

I tried both of them, cold iron warrior at epic. The damage is utterly laughable.

the healing dc, has the weakest dps in game.. add to that AC build is even LOWER by around 20% give or take.

Frankly some of the DC dps encounters could use a small jump in base damage (by like 25% or so) this would still make them really LOW damage dealers, but would make rightouess a little more on par with other dps classes (still lower, but better) and make the healing dcs not quite so terrible.

Don't ask for 25%. Instead we need to ask for a slight increase. I am sure a noticeable difference would be seen with a 5 to 10% increase. They are not supposed to DPS.

What I have heard most DC's do while leveling to 70 is take the DPS route. When they hit 70, they can change.

    a 5% increase is nothing..

a healing AC build dc, will do like 5-600% less then a dps gwf/cw.

I dont think asking for a straight 25% increase is all that big of a deal honestly.

Seriously... we are dealing with the same people that finally decreased the damage output from mobs... and ADDED 50% more HP to them.
