I'd like to point out that PWI/Cryptic do put three-month subscription plans on sale every now and then. $30 for three months, and it auto-renews at that price as long as you keep your sub active. Effectively $10 a month, which is more palatable than $15/month, at least to me.
Trailturtle, don't sell yourself short. You would be a HUGE improvement over what we're have now, which is nothing. Frankly, Champions Online HAS no leadership, because if it did, things would be getting done... things besides more lockboxes, that is.
I am not encouraged about Neverwinter's chances (for longevity, or for fun-factor) when a thread starts off tallking about NW gameplay but is swiftly derailed into a discussion debating the merits of various pen-and-paper D&D editions, then goes off on a tangent about superhero comics.
Oddly, I can get to this here Champions Online website by http://co.perfectworld.com ... but not by http://champions-online.com. Methinks there is some larger issue than merely "the servers are down".
* Utter lack of development. * Utter lack of dev communication. * LockboxeslockboxeslockboxesLOCKBOXES! ENOUGH with the lockboxes already!!! We want STUFF, not an opportunity to gamble!!!
What good does it do Cryptic and PWE to make the new Grav Bikes ONLY available in lockboxes? There must be plenty of people like me who would gladly buy Grav Bikes and their associated upgrades directly, multiple times even, if only we could. Are there REALLY that many MORE people in this game who will happily fork over…
I think my biggest beef with this game is that, regardless of how many devs may or may not actually be working on it, they're not COMMUNICATING with us as to the state of the game, or their future intentions for it. All we get anymore are maintenance notices and patch notes. Trailturtle's "Protocol Alpha" post is the first…
Adding my 2 cents' worth (adjusted for inflation) to this thread. Please leave the new missions in the game permanently, or if that's too much to ask, rotate through them and previous limited-time-event missions (e.g. Nighthawk) on a regular basis. This game needs more permanent new content. Also, would it kill Cryptic/PWE…
That may have been true in the past, but where are they NOW? There haven't been any substantiative posts by Cryptic employees in months, save the occasional patch/PTS notes and/or comments on same. Surely, even if they're working on NW, they could toss us a bone every now and then? Something along the lines of "Hang in…
Personally, I'm praying that the "Plan Z" efforts started by former CoH players will come to fruition and give us a real alternative. It would be like Batman swooping out of the sky and teaching that creepy guy in the van a lesson.
I hate to say it, but this game is already dead. Or rather, it is in "maintenance mode", which for an MMO is the same thing. Seriously, I see post after post after post of people begging, pleading, for new content, and absolutely zero response from Cryptic, either in the form of forum messages or in game updates. And it's…
The reason there is negativity is because people's concerns are NOT being addressed, or even so much as acknowledged. Not just once or twice or a few times, but over and over and OVER. As far as anyone casually reading these forums might be able to tell, this game HAS NO DEV TEAM. Even trailturtle's posts seem to be…
As far as my characters are concerned, there was a battle with a cosmic-level archvillain (one of those mega-crossover events you seem to see every couple of years in the DC and Marvel comics). This villain, at the brink of defeat, set off a doomsday weapon as the ultimate scorched-Earth strategy. The weapon triggered a…
Sadly, as long as ANYone spends real money on keys, lockboxes are not going away.:frown: What I would really like to see is for PerfectWorld to GUARANTEE that the money all of us spend on CO stays in CO... the money from Zen purchases that are "applied" to CO accounts should be earmarked for supporting CO, not PWI's other…
No, more stuff is merely more stuff. Things. Items. CONTENT is stuff TO DO. Missions. Places to explore. People to meet (and beat up). Unless you are somehow implying that a player can "do" a vehicle? Without actual content, vehicles might as well simply be travel powers. Now, the UNTIL carrier defense technically IS real…
If you go with the "house" analogy: Both CoH and CO are decent little row houses in the Western MMO neighborhood. Comfortable but not large or fancy. Both are rented by their tenants, though they're owned by different landlords. The CoH house was somewhat older, but the landlord's maintenance guys were top-notch and always…
1. Have the devs READ and IMPLEMENT these suggestions. 2. ??? 3. Profit! ... okay more seriously: 1. A major do-over of the artwork style. CO is simply way too cartoony for its subject matter. I'm talking everything, too: character proportions, faces, body stances, animations, costume pieces, zone architecture, everything.…
