Except that APs can be run solo, a definite appeal for a chunk of the players. A rework, increasing the difficulty, plus rotating GCR content would be cool.
It already does not take a very long time to gear a single toon with endgame stuff. A month or two. Adding more GCR content means that some folks can hit that max sooner, and then get bored and stop playing sooner. This isn't all players, but definitely some.
Adding some fun, even short, new missions would get me to log on again. Would be great if the Alert system got a shake up, added six new missions into the rotation, something like that.
Save the Earth was a step in the right direction. It isn't perfect, and occasionally has some odd glitches, but that would be a good model: tough mobs, lots of em, with a supervillain. A new event or endgame fighting involving a villain team would be great--I would actually update and log on for that.
Back for a play session a couple days ago, I tried out STE with my main tank character. We did a PUG run, shorthanded (only 3 heroes). Took a while, since we we had fairly low DPS, but no problem.
Thanks and that's super generous, @spordelia , but I don't really play Champs any more, aside from logging in once after each update, and an occasional forum post. If new missions or events are added, I will log in to play those. Very cool of you to be so kind, though.
It is an open world mission. On the western(?) map edge of VB. Takes place in a construction site, along with a couple of other missions, making a mini story arc.
Members of the Trey Kings can become Nephilim still. There is a mission about it in post-Therakiel Vibora, where the hero is trying to prevent this, and hunt down new nephilim.
This would be my choice: r1 and r 2 simply don't exist r3 = 0% r4 = 1% r5 = 3% r6 = 5% r7 = 7% r8 = 9% r9 = 15% This progression makes it worth farming a bit (to get that first little bonus), and also makes R9 catalysts still worth buying for some, because of the big jump from r8 to r9.
What about massively improving the Master Villain rank mobs--to the point of essentially being mini bosses? I can't remember the name at the moment--something "mothers". They are the large female Lemurians. If they were much tougher, it would make a team of five feel useful leading up to Hyrg (who could be tougher) and…
This is the first update to really have me curious in a long time. I'd really be up for trying out new-and-improved lairs. Even just having an "epic mode" with about the same content would be cool.
I also wonder if a semi-intended design goal of Save the Earth was to add a special alert to the rotation that would actually cut down on Vigilance farming. When I was at the height of my play time, spending Zen on lots of stuff, I would often get 40+ heroes through Vigilance. So. Much. Questionite. Now, even if you can…
I don't think it's too tough, but it is harder than other special alerts. That being said, I stopped farming Vigilance after STE went into the rotation. I could not reliably rotate 30 toons through it, like the other special alerts. I ran my five mains, which generally went okay, but then kinda gave up on Vigilance farming…
If the game is fun to play for free on and off for six months, I'll be super happy. Since I only play 3-4 hours once or twice a week, I can imagine that it will take me a long time to simply hit max level, let alone worry about endgame. And yes, send me your stuff! @dmattachine
And these are my favorite fights in Champs. Wish there were more of them. Desert Mechanon: similar to the Nightmare event--different teams with different roles/goals/mechanics Kiga: more about attrition, healing/defense, than DPS Eidolon: more about knowing mechanics/rounds/CC Qwijy: requires CC, movement TA Medusa: unique…
This reminds me of an older thread where folks were discussing ways to differentiate combats. The thing I love to see in a game is when not fighting, or not fighting to kill enemies, is sometimes a viable choice. Missions that are "slay x enemies" aren't a favorite of mine. Introduce more "survive for x time", "accomplish…
So, after giving up on Neverwinter, I tried out Guild Wars 2 this weekend. I like it a lot. Good character customization, and good gameplay. I like the physics of the game engine. Definitely lots of microtransactions, mostly cosmetics. Not obnoxious, but they are a little more prevalent than even Neverwinter.
I get most of my Nemesis Recog from regular ol'Nemesis missions. Tons of Nem Recog--much more than this alert gives. Once you finish the Nemesis story arc a second, third time, you get piles of it, since the Recog award is based on how many times you've run through the entire arc.
So, yeah. That didn't last long. Neverwinter couldn't compete with my other games, especially Soul Calibur. A fight game with a better character creator than Neverwinter?!
Customs won't be allowed in tournaments, and weren't in earlier installments. The complaints have been focusing on ranked play and leaderboards. Tournament players traditionally use top ranks of the leaderboards as practice ground. That might look different for SC6. On the other hand, the best players likely won't be using…
It's actually a big topic of conversation among the SC6 players. 1. Custom characters: cool stuff, creative costumes 2. Custom characters: obnoxious characters, trolling 3. Custom characters: differences in hit boxes, attack reach; changes fight meta 4. Custom characters: mixing huge weapons with small characters, and vice…
Soul Calibur 6 has been super fun this past weekend. The character creator has voice sets, many sliders, accessory pieces, and much more. Though not as robust as something like CO, it's at least as customizable as something like Neverwinter. You can even design tattoos, scars, and use clipping, rotation, and scaling for…
I very well may, but first, I'll be making a custom toon and playing the single player campaign. I love that Soul Caliber has robust character customization, which you can then take online in PvP.
The current event was actually pretty fun--you character is turned into a miniature, and then you participate in a "tabletop game". The players are all famous Forgotten Realms characters like Drizzt and Minsk.
