  • It's been a while since I've used rec primary, and I'm a little sad for that I'd like it to be worthwhile, but you get 15% chance from Supercharged, while your energy is > 90%. I've seen Ego primary get between 11% and 14% chance, with 3/3 sixth sense, all the time, and it has access to severity increasing spec as well.…
  • What control scheme are you using, that you can't use Strafing Run? Do you not use a mouse? Remembering of course, that while controllers are able to be used, they are not a fully supported feature. Gamepad use is not something to be designed around, as much as I'd like that. If they did make it fully supported, that'd be…
  • I disagree. I understand you don't like gear playing as large a role in character building as it does, but I like it. It's another layer of consideration to take, and another point of customization. If done correctly. There is no magic way to say that cooldown has become equivilant to Cost reduction, that's a build by…
  • Kaizerin's a mod; how long's that been? Gratz! When do you get your yellow name?
  • Mind = Blown Except not... Currently the powers put other ADs and AOs on cooldown immediately on activation. This means the power is cooling down while the effect is active, reducing the actual effective downtime. The goal is to have the cooldown happen after the duration of the effect completes, increasing…
  • That's what I was meaning. An AD toggle would prevent the player from activating other AD toggles, and set them on cooldown when they de-activate, while AO toggles would do the same for AOs. Active Powers would remain segregated by Offense/Defense. This would just prevent the chaining of ADs or AOs back to back, without…
  • You people are not creative. Yes, cycling Active Powers is likely against design intention. No, Global CD reduction DR is not a good idea. Yes, it should be fixed. Solution: Make them toggles FFS! Activate the power, and they are toggled on while other APs are disabled, then when they are de-activated they and any other…
  • Is it just me, or is the inlay texture messed up on PTS? Using tights with angled grooves detail, and inlay pattern has a blurred red blob mess instead of what it should be.
  • Guess I never noticed that it didn't crit. I'll have to watch closer next time I use it.
  • Personally I think that any power that doesn't crit; shoudn't be dodge-able. That would be part of a good start to improving mini-mines.
  • Bug: Full Hood is clipping into the side of the character's head, when the character is using Acrobatics, and is is the "Just Stopped" stance. Not sure what changed to cause it, but good lord is it annoying me...
  • You probably already know, and just ignore it like I do, but apparently all player characters already know Defender's secret identity. So, that would have to be changed first.
  • I've been getting them at, what seems to be, the same rate as the Takofanes II box. The thing is, they haven't dropped from the Misfit Toy mobs. Actually I haven't seen anything drop from them, with the exception of Holiday Gift devices. With people running Clarence and Event stuff, there seems to be a much smaller supply.…
  • Bug(?) Damage dealt to the surviving mecha-soldier, in the Holiday alert, doesn't seem to count for participation.
  • Not sure what's up, but I just tried unlocking the Victorian cosume set, from the debugger, and it didn't unlock. Instead it turned into a green icon with the word "PRIMARY" on it, with the Justice gear set bonuses as it's description. So...yeah, that's odd.
  • If you go to your options there's a setting "Always face target". Setting this to on is incredibly helpful for keeping enemies in your targeting arc, even through knock.
  • You may get more return from using Night Warrior rather than Quarry. Depending on your level of superstats and potency of your Cooldown and Cost reduction gear. Just something to look into.
  • Can't let it go...can't do it. Want to, but can't Never entering Club Caprice ever again.
  • Holy God, you're right. That's not wierd, that's insane. I was expecting the tooltip to simply be contextually ambiguous, as it says: Thought it was just saying on the first hit, and following hits you didn't get anything, but I was hoping a stack every charge. But really, to remove all stacks? It should at the very least…
  • A list of things: Roomsweeper: When You already have at least one stack of Enraged!, Charging Roomsweeper to at least 50% causes all instances of Enraged! to drop. Exeption: Having the Enrage form active, allows the power to function properly. Replication steps: 1. Hit enemy with 50%+ charge roomsweeper 1a. Note stacks of…
  • First, what is a personal turn based system? You can't take turns with yourself. Second, A turn based system is like chess, where you must wait for the other player to finish, to make your move. Unless you're proposing a new type of chess where both players move whenever they want, just one piece at a time. Yay for…
  • So...They didn't just change dodge scaling, they changed ALL scaling? Sounds legit.
  • Endurance and Recovery are not strong superstats. They can be good, but I won't go as far as strong, as tertiary stats, but they lose efficency as you stack them in a tragic way. With Intelligence, specs, Cost reduction gear, and energy unlocks, there isn't much reason to touch Recovery or Endurance outside incredibly…
  • There should be at least twice as many of these threads as there are "Un" threads.
  • Ha, I just assumed it got locked when I saw Smackwell.
  • "Bright green splashed against the classic vegas red and black, Jack Williams was..." FABULOUS!
  • Just hopped on test. Jewel of Edom aura was still applying with no changes, so I belive that object and costume based auras are still working like normal. Of course all subject to change depending on future updates.
  • I go to sleep, and world peace seems to occur in my absence :D
  • I pick 100 and 50 because they're easy to look at, and I don't have to do a full monte carlo simulation and pull an average from that. It works, you don't have to like it, or understand it, but when you talk numbers it helps to have some understanding of them. Again: What? Average 30% you're saying it again, and it still…
  • Juggertha was a popular artist in the CoH FArt community. He does freaking awesome stuff, especially action/group shots, and I think he's still taking commisions. I don't know if Foo does as much action shot stuff, but you may want to look at his stuff too, it's all really good. I think I've even seen him around these…
  • If you don't care about the method for quantifying the value of a given ammount of dodge/avoid, that's fine. It is perfectly wonderful for people to not like some of the wierd things I like, such as the numbers behind game systems. The thing is, when you start talking about how much mitigation an ammount of dodge gives,…
  • Space, room, time, options. You Always have a larger margin for error. More time to respond to incomming damage. Fewer power options taken for the purpose of survivability. While under high ammount of damage, excess mitigation allows you to heal with less frequency, allowing for more time to attack. Black Jack Williams is…
  • IDF is immunity, not absorb. Like Invulnerability and Unstoppable, not Forcefield powers. Unbreakable is more like the Forcefield powers oddly enough. Ice Barrier is a nice power. I wish there were more powers like it, that could fit different themes.
  • I am currently taking a character through their UNITY daily missions, on elite, with no passive. Since I'm bothering to do these, it should be obvious that I have no Champions Gear, just a mash up of random blues and greens, and no Heirloom gear. (Seriously) Going by current performance I'm confidant in my experience that…
  • Lets see what happens when you add other mitigation. Add 100% resist to the previous example. 100% resists cut all damage in half, so: 100 hits for 50 damage; expeced damage 5000 -> 70 hits for 50 damage; expected damage 3500 damage (on average) -> 30 hits for 35 damage; 1050 expected damage (on average) -> 4550 expected…
  • *Sigh* What I wanted was to know this huge damage gap that you seem to see, that requires such lesser ammounts of mitigation. You provided some data, but not a result. A result would be showing how much more damage offensive passive users have over defensive passive users. This doesn't seem to stop Night warrior. Heck,…
  • That's not a result, that's data. You have to -do- something with those numbers to reach a conclusion. It's also, funny enough, not even all the data you'd need to know what the damage difference would be between an offensive passive and a defensive passive. My personal estimation is that an offensive passive does between…
  • That is very cool. I did some alerts with Sharknado while on Lord Illuminatus. Sorry you had to die so many times, Hadn't figured out that the EB was messing up my targeting so bad, and couldn't seem to get a bubble on you to save...well...your live . Thing is, I have two phases. The first is the numbers phase,…
  • What is the actual damage advantage of a ranged passive user, that make you believe they deserve such drastically less mitigation? Also, in case you were unaware. 30% and 30% is about 9% average mitigation. 40% and 50% is about 20% mitigation. 33% and 53% is 17.5% mitigation on average. That's not -low- enough for you?…
  • Oh I know it's a powerful ability. I'm just concerned with where it fits with the rest of power armor, should the new Laser Sword powers become usable. It has about twice the damage of other Combo powers, but it also has more than twice the energy cost, and to try to use that at the same time as other power armor abilities…
  • Circle of Radiant Glory works like a nice click version of this.
  • I would drop Q on a set that gave 25%/50% to pet health and damage.
  • It's still the old version of the PTS. I wonder if the changes were ever on there. That would be...unfortunate if they push a bunch of untested, unanounced changes, and then also have all the issues they had with the recent patch's release. Though, I remember seeing one of the Smoke grenade ranks giving -80% now, on live.…
  • That's fair, my main thing is that some numbers did get smaller, some got bigger. Once that's established, it's easier to help people actually get their numbers bigger if that's something they're looking to do.
  • Dang it nepht, you forgot to carry the one and put it onto caliga's chair so he get's poked when he sits down. Imma have to explain how this works to you again! Get your calculator Math kitty u gotz homework to do!
  • Note In your example you used 40% old and 20% new with 200% outside damage boosts. I don't believe that there's an offense value that would give 40% in the old system and 20% now so the numbers would look off. Also, ignoring those numbers wouldn't be anything seen ingame, for those numbers 100% outside damage boost would…
  • Not every character has been stacking offense. That's part of the reason for the change. I'd be willing to bet more offensive primary core slots are filled with Gamblers than Impact gems. Added to that the new offense isn't going to play as nicely with criticals either, if GCs description is accurate, so there's that…
