Fun fact - if I were given Hawkwing model and told to actually design a physical toy out of it, something that can be done in plastic and keeps proportions during transformation, this costume isn't how I'd do it.

    I'd go completely different route.

Can you see how it splits into vehicle parts?

    bot2_by_satapatis-d7e326x.jpg

    hvdm42.jpg

I'm not submitting it as a contest design, since, obviously, with this kind of proportions it can't be a costume.

There's a reason why Hawkwings are my favorite rides (well, actually they're the ONLY vehicles I like). Their models have great toy potential.

Wings are blocky and thick, they can be split into hands and you don't have this entire huge wing kibble typical for all classic transformable mechas with alternate jet modes.
This is nearly kibble-free vehicle mode.

its ok to reference stuff other people posted, but remember to actually submit your stuff in the thread made for submissions.

Personally, I hope the variable robot wins (Well ideally id like my own entry to win but all contestants can say the same) because it has a costume piece i want really badly, tech based blade hands. We have none of that currently, its all organic and monster-ish.

Honestly, I was about to put these markings on heavy tank parts with camo:

But I overdid amount of other details and there was no place left for emblems. :/

Can someone make a pair of boots like the Nighthawk ones without the claws?

Or any sleek tech boots that reach/pass the kneecap for that matter?

Oh an for those of you who can draw (not my forte) more/some helmets that look like:

    http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121108100401/gunfamfanon/images/7/78/Gundam_00.jpg

I don't mean a copy but I like the mouth and the overall design of it. There is currently no way to mimic a mouth protection/cover like the one in the image above (with the pronounced chin).

I have a few ideas for costume sets, but I'm curious to see which one the CO community would be more interested in.

I have an Idea for a set I call The TaskMaster. It would involve tights that have buckles and straps, as well as hooks strategicly placed. There would be a set of bladed boots, and bracers with hooks on them (CO has several bladed ones, but no hooks). This is basicly a Dom/Sub set, with lstrappy boots and gloves for everyone to make use of.

The second set is just Techstuff. A back piece with glowing cannisters, chest wear with glowing fluid pipes, a clear faceplate, and a nice pair of high heeled rocket boots. I'm going for something like a hightech HAZMAT suit, with a lot of glows and multipurpous tech gear. No name for this set.

I have a set I'm just calling Creepy Crawlers. It would involve techno-organic pieces, a set of tentacles trailing off the back, and a general biotech feel.

The last set I'm calling Aranae. It would involve more realistic looking spider web costume pieces, in a full set. A spider-style crown with veil, spider earrings and collar, a blouse with a cout out that is filled in with webbs, long gloves, a cape of spider gauze, chest and back plates that loot like spiders gripping the character, with similar shoulder and leg plates, and a goggle set that has eight eyes. It would have pieces for both genders.

Creepy Crawlers sounds like something many people could put to use. The Aranae may need a slight tweak to fit both genders. How about more of a "Spider Knight" armor feel to cater to the males, while throwing a black widow theme to the more female oriented parts?

    Love those two ideas though.

EDIT: The Aranae goggles could also be adapted into a "Spider Face" helmet for alternate parts to use.

can we NOT automatically make any female spider parts, black widow.
just enter all of them, there's no limit on entries

we have spider earrings, web skirt and web cape in halloween set, just have a look through the z store to compare with what you have in mind

My thought exactly. But a Biotech Spider Armor sounds great. Although when it comes to "Mecha" I'd love to see a sleek, high tech armor along the lines of light Iron Man armors (Or this if you want a more tactical feel http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8XhkdwRnqVs/UMX44SF-TKI/AAAAAAAAH20/VCg9OixU2p0/s1600/costume+armor+sinister+six.jpg)

All it requires is a visual component and a written description. So why don't you use one of your Chibi bodies as a template for the costume and then bulk up the written descriptions for each part.

I can already make both of those in the CC......

I would like to see more mask/helmets like the spider-armor costume...
but honestly... Ironman-esque armor is one of the few armored up styles we have a plethora of.

and "armored tights" look (what you describe as "sleek") is already possible, and SIMPLE in the CC:
    costume+armor+sinister+six.jpg

this is just an outfit with chest gear and hips gear that are "basic" and then given a pattern and textured, with an underlined-striped tights underneath, shoulder pads, thigh pads and any one of the armored boot designs (or you could swap out the leg pads and boots with holo armor, if you wanted it even sleeker)
the only SLIGHT challenge would be the mask, but if you just used the 90's mask and made the cheek-pieces significantly darker than the rest of the face plate, it would lok very similar...

about the only thing we CANT currently do, for this costume... is have "full chest emblems".... or the painted emblems at all on the chestwear.
but, that said, you can have all the various, currently available tights patterns... so you can give it something of an emblematic look.

    Hello Heroes.
It's probably a little late for this but if you want to submit a male costume set but can't draw, I drew this template up at work. Pretty straightforward pose, standard body type and proportions for a four colour hero. Simplest method is to print it out and trace or draw over top of the original form. I have no real experience with digital illustration but it should work the same.
    Template01_zps9a4fdfdb.jpg
Feel free to use it for whatever purposes, I just thought it might help a bit.

Ps. I like the long hair for males selection a lot.

I have a Spider costume, along with other bug stuff in my Costume Set. Yes, it's badly drawn, but it's awesome. You just mix other stuff with it and you can make mecha spiders and whatever.

    Some full biomech doodles

The shoulder plates and arm accessories would probably look similar to this image I did a while back.

Feel free to peruse the rest of my Deviantart account. There were a few images on there I decided not to include here.

Again, feedback appreciated and where possible/desirable I will try to work it in.

Personally I think the art of those pieces is jaw dropping, but the whole robot<->vehicle concept is too restrictive.. I know it is possible to mix n match, but the other set he designed is way more appealing to me. Of course my opinion means nothing..
It would be great if devs took time to implement, say the 3 winner costumes, or have categories and implement the winner of each one. Just one would satisfy too few people. It is a missed opportunity to reduce the colossal effort all these people put into their submission to.. a robot costume, and people who don't like robots -i like robots- get nothing.
Just with the submission thread, Cryptic doesn't even need a designer anymore.. I would love all of them. Yes, even the pony one.

Sadly, such will be the case with every costume set. People who don't like magic or animals will get nothing if magical or bestial set is picked.
It is a missed opportunity to reduce the colossal effort all these people put into their submission to.. a magic costume. Or tactical costume. Or bestial costume. Or ANY costume, since it is impossible to cover all tastes and something always will be lost.

I hope Cryptic will use this whole contest idea and keep even non-winning entries as possible future ideas. There are certainly more ideas than can fit into not only one, but ten costume sets.

Oh, considering that inspiration for Champions were superhero comic books, I'm mildly surprised how few people recognised shtick behind the Cosmic Knight concept.

This is what I'm saying. I personally think the game has far too much mysticism and fantasy already. I'm probably not going to be as excited for some of these things to take the win. But that's just my opinion, and that's all it really is. Everyone's entitled to like what they like and that's totally cool by me.

I'd even go as far as to say that I'd spend money on something to support this idea... unless it's 'girls only/guys only'. I've made a vow to never give Cryptic a red cent toward anything that's gender-specific.

I'm hoping too, that they pick more than just one entry. Of course I want mine to win, but there are a lot of other entries I like and would certainly buy.

(But I also hope that every entry used is rewarded to the creator with at least with some ZEN or a free copy of of the set.)

I'd be psyched to see pretty much all of these costume sets implemented at some point in the game. But in regards to the contest, I think with the common themes that are appearing there should be five sets released, an animal focused one, a robotic/sci-fi one, a military one, a fantasy one, and a misc parts one (ie: hair, or accessories or casual clothing theme). That way there's a set that covers a vast majority of what people have been wanting to see, and allows for LOTS of purchases to be made for those that may only want one or two of the winning sets, or those who want all five. Of course I do think that the winning designers should get their own set for free at the very least, and then cryptic can rank those 5 based on total votes as their top winners to get Zen in addition.

if it hasn't been obvious.... I'd really REALLY like to see some new tights in the game. I cant help feeling like most other costume sets are sort of one shot deals with very little traction outside of their very narrow theme. Tights, though, are kind of universal... as long as you can find decent things to pair the individual parts with, they become the foundation of hundreds or thousands of different looks, instead of a bunch of characters all looking the same, with whatever the new set is...

So, hopefully some of the more "tights" looks make it through to the final voting.... I know they're probably not as exciting as some of the more ambitious entries... but for me, personally, they have a lot more value.

even if its the lesser of 5 evils.

and, the fact remains that this is the contest we've been given, so we should not waste too much energy musing how it could/should have been set up
