Ask and ye shall receive. That build was kind of old before I worked with stats more. This is a better one, and it has what you asked for. No demolish, but your Single Target damage comes from Haymaker.

Also defensive Combo procs Setup, so you can use that to get 20% more damage with Haymaker, Havoc Stomp, or Unleashed Rage.

If you find it to be too slow just take Roomsweeper early on.

Thank you man...I appreciate it. Just one more stupid question....you said "If you find it to be too slow just take Roomsweeper early on.". I don't see roomsweeper on the new build anywhere.

Do you mean take it then get rid of it later?

Also, the skill tree isn't finished,,,what would you recommend to finish the skills?

Please excuse me........I have been playing for a little while but I'm still a noob at builds.

    Thanks again:smile:

Well, not so passive as you'll still be attacking. Though you'll get heals as you do! Life Drain with Sentinel Aura and the use of Conviction will cause you to heal everyone else as a side effect. Then there's Stone Shot for Stagger, making things easier to kill and slower.

Sentinel Mastery shows up again, coming from Void Shift, Venomous Breath and Sonic Device.

All in the goal of healing by accident. Enjoy.

So I decided to make one of these. It's an interesting build, to say the least. Basically functions like Single Blade, only prettier. Stack up the Plasma Burns(Bleeds) then Cauterize(Rupture) them. It's put out some pretty awesome damage. Sadly the laser sword AoE is weaksauce, so Plasma Beam instead. Though since Plasma Beam has Melta Cannon, it was a no brainer.

SO! Lots of crits plus lots of -res = a delicious combo of lasery goodness... Oh, and Shuriken throw? That's there for filler. Take whatever you want. A block, another heal, Minimines. Whatevah.

Would it be possible to see a good DPS ranged build centered around guns/rifles? I don't have so much of a concept, just a war-worn soldier type with high damage and moderate to good survivability. I was more looking for a punisher style build. Seems like the builds I have been trying don't measure up on DPS or are chock full o' attacks, but get beat down like an old lady.

You said Guns/Rifles, yeah? Not sure if you wanted Heavy Weapons, so I kept it a bit light. In this build, the only non-rifle-like weapon you have is your Energy Builder. You'll BARELY be using it, so, it's just there to be pretty. Assault Rifle and SMG burst will take care of most, if not all things. I threw in Sniper Rifle, just because. You can hang back and DPS with it. Those crits'll be nasty.

As for the other things, it's really just to augment the rest of the build. You got conviction, which is your heal. It can crit, and with how much severity you have you'll get a lot of HP back. On top of this, it'll fuel MSA, which'll give you a constant flow of energy if you alternate between attacking and taking a second to use conviction.

Frag Grenade adds some nice twitch CC. Like breaking up a large group of lesser henchmen and bursting down the bigger one so you can mop up the rest. Sonic Device can help with that, OR add MORE damage on top of your assault rifle or Sniper Rifle attacks.

Evasive maneuvers will keep the heat off you, so, self explanatory. Unless you wanted to KEEP threat. Then I'll have to make a whole other build. Not to say this build can't take a hit. It totally can. Just I could make it take a BETTER hit.

Lastly, Masterful Dodge. Use it when the heat seems to be too much. Lock N' Load? Well, self explanatory.

Mind you this was to attempt to stay conceptual. If you want a totally optimized rifle build, I'll change some things around.

Very nice! I like the sniper rifle add-in, gives it that "Hand o' god" feel. I would definitely like to see your optimized build idea! I think heavy weapons could also be a part of the idea with this build if it has room, I like the "grizzled war vet" idea behind busting out all kinds of whoopass. The frag grenade was a nice touch too, I like scattering henchmen all over the room if the mood hits.

I wish I had the foresight for making builds this good, I've got scratch paper laying all over my desk here where I thought I was onto something good, only to get around level 18-ish and see I've painted myself in a corner or left out some key elements that severly gimped my damage or survivability.

It's really simple to come up with builds. All you need to do is follow a few simple steps. Think about what the build is going to do. Then, pick stats accordingly. Know what the stats do, too. Dex for pure offense. Ego can work, but for some builds it works better or worse. Always match a Super Stat to a form or passive. Don't take Enrage if you are Int/Dex/Pre. Find Synergies. Match passive damage types to powers, etc etc.

As the title says, this is about an Elementalist. A person that uses all corners of magic to combine them into devastating effects.

With this build, I tried to mix everything into one. Earth, Wind, Fire, Ice. All that's missing is heart... Oh come on you know I couldn't go without making ONE reference when it is -that- obvious.

Anyway the idea is simple. Whirlwind is the core power of this build. Use it, and things will be bunched up. After that you can do lots of things.

First: Stone Shot. It has a wider aoe thanks to the advantage, and it'll hit harder. It will also apply stagger to everything hit, thus making them take more damage and run slower, making it harder for them to escape Whirlwind. Well if they're not the main target that is.

Second: Fire Snake. Meant to fill the 'Fire' role. Use it, and i'll follow your target, igniting everything nearby. Adding more damage, which is nice. It also lowers Elemental Resistance, and since Stagger also reduces resistance...

Third: ...Avalanche will hit even harder. It is Ice damage, so it falls into Elemental Damage. Firesnake Reduces elemental damage. You see where this is going, yeah? Not only does it do great damage but it will also do CC here and there.

Fourth: Fissure. This is a debatable slot, but I put Fissure there because of the fire damage and more chances for a knock down to keep everyone in place.

Fifth: Storm Sigils. Lightning Element. Throw that down and there will be even MORE damage done while you channel Avalanche or throw Stone shot.

Combine this with crits and Aura of Ebon Destruction(Which boosts ALL Damage), and you got some pretty nasty combinations!

Lemmie know what you guys think of this one!

I made a DPS-focused Sorcery build with a support passive, no heals other than conviction, an Incapacitate and a Blast that does extra damage to held targets that also casts faster after two crits.

I made this build at approximately 3:21 in the morning and I have not tested it out but I don't caaaaaaaare.

this looks interesting I was just going to make a post looking for a dps oriented magic build..hopefully this turns out ok...I cant try it out at the moment. I also noticed there wasn't a block up there is it not needed?

Those that superstat Con do not need a block power. You don't take a block power for the resistance. You take it for the secondary effects.

Chances are if you need to constantly block and aren't a tank then the build is flawed.

    In my opinion of course.

@Cheesesloppy: This is a great thread you have going here, and its great to get all these idea juices flowing. One thing I have been wanting to mess around with is a pet build. Purely for PVE only. I saw one in an alert the other day and I was quite impressed with the # of pets out at one time and damage they did. I have no clue where to even start on this kind of build since I read alot of horror stories about pets. I had a concept a while ago of making one that included some ego powers: Ego Blade and Ego blade frenzy to tear up the baddies with my pets. I also thought to have Compassion involved for some self healing, and got the idea from your previous build of throwing in Aura of Radiant Protection. I wanted a mix of different pets, attack toys maybe some zombies, nightmares, whatever the good ones are. So the question is how many pets is too many and are they truly useful? Any help with this would be appreciate, I try to mix it up even though i am newish to the game stlil. At 40 i have a Melee night warrior, dual sword guy and a ranged Electric quarry guy. SO i figure pets are good to round out the fun! Thanks.

The best pet builds get 5x teleiosaurus pheremones devices...then as many pets as you want...

    Hey,

i looked through your builds and they are awesome. But i look for something special, a cool Ninja-Assassin-Like PvE-Freeform build with those hand-blades (hawks talons the energey builder).

Is there something like that around? Didnt found one yet for me, just lingering around with my aoe-shuriken throw str-based and shadow-strike... but iam not good in building characters (most of them have just the skills suiting best for theyr backround).

    Thank you alot.

I really like this thread, and some of the builds I saw in here months ago.
Though I would really appreciate a build that's centered around EXTREME damage, and isn't outdated like most FF builds on the net. I played during release * TK Blades were extremely powerful then, but now I've read that utilizing negative ions is amazing DPS wise, or two gun mojo builds.

TL;DR - I challenge you to make a very, very high damage output based FF build.

Love the builds in this thread, awesome work. I was wondering if you could help me, I have a concept in my head just no way to make a build around it. I was thinking of using a gadget build that used Partlce Rifle, Pulse Beam Rifle, Support Drones, Munition Bots, Micro Munitions, Sonic Boom Generator, Shoulder Launcher, Orbital Cannon and Implosion Engine. I just don't know how to put it together to make it any good lol. Thanks for your help. oh and if these powers don't play well with each other im open to other ideas.

Well, It's hard to make that work because you want a Maintain and a Charge, but also two toggles. Since Micro Munitions, Sonic Boom Generator, and Shoulder Launcher are all AoE, I'd just take one.

How about a PA build with Orbital Cannon and Implosion Engine? I might be able to fit Particle Rifle in as an end builder too.

Powers for level 32 and 38 are open to whatever you please but the core is there. It's a PA Burst build, meant for lots of damage all at once. If you would prefer a build with Micro Munitions instead let me know.

Hey Turbo! Nice collection of builds there!!

    I wanna ask for something...

I was thinking about a "leaking reactor" kinda of build, using AoPM (for the leaking effect) and infernal powers (for the power colors, since i'm gonna use a FF slot, and I can't change power colors :frown: ), and dps based.

Can you come with something up?

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

This is an easy one, really. It'll be pretty decent, too.

    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)

Now, I tried my best to stay within your concept and color restrictions. No Conviction because that's bright blue, but only until you get hit. The rest is pretty green-ish.

I chose Venomous Breath so you can have the infernal end builder, and have some nice CC with the adv. The last power slot is open so if you want to take epidemic for a more damaging AoE, go for it.

I tested the build and it runs good enough.

Hey man nice thread you have here. lots of useful builds and information.
I have this concept of Dps/tank, but after searching around i thought that might be impossible.
I was thinking maybe you could help me with a heavy weapon tank build? and run Unleashed rage at 35 if possible. and one more thing could you suggest some of the items that maybe will boost this build crit up?

    Thank you
ps. started this game like a month ago so im still in the N(oob) club

Pretty easy to do. With a decent investment in strength and constitution you will have a good amount of damage and survivability.

To add to the damage, just get crit gear on your Prim and Secondary offenses. Gambler's gems and the secondary. With that you'll get roughly 30% crit at level 40 with Heroic gear.

Ah, sorry about the long absence. Was working. A lot. Like, tomorrow is my first day off in two weeks. Not fun.

Anyway! Here you go. I would've gone for HW/Chainsaw, but this'll function just fine.

hello turbo. i know you an expert in this game
Could you make a pvp build, possibly a melee with high crits and high survivability. I also have a few powers in mind but feel free to make changes if one does not fit.
boomerang toss, dragon wrath, sword cyclone, unleashed rage, lightning reflexes , smoke bomb lunge

    Thanks

Could you take a look at my thread "One more CoH character revisited" and give me some feedback on it, and maybe some tips on what you might do differently?

Not Turbo but I know PvP stuff.

LR isn't going to give you any sort of real survivability. Go for Defiance or Invuln. Resist stacking is better than minmaxing any single resistance.

In PvP, melee is dead, so is any variance in form or build beyond 3 freeform archetypes: Ranged DPS Spiker, UR/SR Melee Spiker, and Shadow Striker. Have fun picking one.

Smoke bomb lunge is less helpful than the unarmed equivalent. Look into it.

With current specializations, Defense penetration offered by DW is uneeded to compensate for the lesser damage it brings you. Look into Dragon's Claws.

I'm sure you were looking for an idea, or for some kind of hero that your character can be, but the current game does not support PvP like that. You cannot succeed unless your ideas happen to coincide with what currently does thousands of DPS. Good luck.

Edit: I spelled some stuff incorrectly.

Hey Prankenstein, thx for the advice. I think im gonna with you and scrubs the PVP idea and LR. Would the build still work ? including survivalability, thunder lounge, evasive maneuvers. i wouldnt know what else to pick tho or what Primary status would fit :/

You'll want to Con/Str/Int in that order, with 150+ in all.

Get: Conviction, Masterful Dodge, BCR, MSA, Probably FoTT if you're running a crit build, Ego Surge + adv.

These powers are nice and you might want dem: Resurgence, Ascension, Evasive Maneuvers, Unleashed Rage - only if you went Enrage and not FoTT.

With specializations I can't help much, but make sure to get the protector tree and the active defense cooldown power and snare invuln from it.

    I said I'd make a tank build, Didn't I? Well I did. So there.

It's a bit different than what I'm used to doing. TK blades crit tank with LR. Non resist base. The idea is to dodge most things and get resistance via powers and specs when you crit. Of course, critting also gives you HP with Siphoning Strikes. There's also the benefit that with eruption you'll be glowing pretty much all the time, so have fun with that.

    PowerHouse (Link to this build)

Looking to build a variant of this, I'm curious ... what's the value of Intelligence there? Is it as a cost reducer for the build? My impulse is to superstat Ego instead, but I don't know if that's wise.

Character's only 16 now, but I'm considering a retcon into this setup. Thoughts? I also kind of hate using Ego Blade Frenzy for some reason, and was hoping to make do with Dash as a taunt and just Ego Weaponry for my offense.

Goodness this thread is old! I probably should've kept it going but I just ran out of juice. Well, until now, for a bit at least. Figured I might as well post it here, if only to remind myself of its existence later when I need it.

Concept is Bone Manipulation. Basic punch, Bone Claws, Bone Hammer, And ground punch because why not. Maybe bone spikes through the ground. Plus lots of regeneration, because you need it if you're gunna fling your body parts around as weapons.

    Yo, turbocheese.

Need some help here - I am coming up on 40 for my Behemoth-AT character, Brick (who, despite appearances, is NOT a rip or homage of F4's Thing - long story), and since that 40 comes with a free respec, I was thinking of shifting him to Freeform. But I'm a total thick-wit when it comes to freeforming. Mainly because I've only been Gold for less than a month.

So, can you lend a hand? Two things I've noticed so far that the Behemoth AT (by my opinion, which might be wrong) lacks is a good self-heal and some good AOE. Plus, despite having Enrage, it is lacking in the Knocks that would activate/stack it, having just Uppercut and Roomsweeper, with no real "passive" ways to gain them, and Defiance isn't really as good at soaking damage as it used to be...

Basically my character is more-or-less built on the simple and kinda Hulk-esque idea of "shrug off damage, get big and angry, punch all the things", but the "shrug off damage" and "get big and angry" sides are kinda lacking if I don't have a way to recover from damage taken and my "get angry" relies on smacking things away from me, which is pretty counterintuitive to a melee type... The "punch all the things" part works fine, though, fortunately.

I was thinking maybe have Regeneration or Invulnerability as slotted passive, and sticking with the part of my Primary SS being STR with one of my two Secondary being CON, but beyond that, I'm not 100% sure what to do...
