I had such a build made already, posted earlier in the thread. Here's the link.

I am LOVING the build you suggested for Brick.

    Have another request...

The general concept is basically a brawler, your typical MMA fighter type - punching and kicking, street-fight stuff. (but not "Street Fighter" stuff - no hadoukens or other glowy stuff, please)

Looking for good survivability, and some AOE added, but no threatbuilders since she will not be a tank. Maybe Regeneration as a passive, since it heals well but doesn't have any bothersome aura-glow...

I tried a couple times to build it myself, figuring a mix of Unarmed and Might powers would work, but it kept coming off like just a Behemoth with added footwork, and I couldn't seem to get the right kinda half-n-half aesthetic blend of punching and kicking I was wanting...

Goodness this thread is old! I probably should've kept it going but I just ran out of juice. Well, until now, for a bit at least. Figured I might as well post it here, if only to remind myself of its existence later when I need it.

Concept is Bone Manipulation. Basic punch, Bone Claws, Bone Hammer, And ground punch because why not. Maybe bone spikes through the ground. Plus lots of regeneration, because you need it if you're gunna fling your body parts around as weapons.

Thanks, Turbo Raptor. Now I miss my Spikes/Regen Scrapper. :frown:

This is a really good thread though. If you're still taking requests do you have any idea on how to make an effective build with Gatling Gun and Cleave as the star powers? I'd like to actually use my Harajuku weapons, and fitting them both on the same character would be lovely.

Sorry, but that's the way the build will have to be. Unarmed MA is basically all flashy, and Might is basically all Mighty. As a result, you'll be hard pressed to make it feel like a 'street fighting' build. Best thing you could do is take Demolish and Uppercut from Might and mix in unarmed Melee. If you'd like something like that I'll try and make one.

Yeah, it's possible I was just describing it poorly. I just want a good melee build that's not either all hulk-smash stuff or all super-kung-fu chopsocky. Go right ahead.

    Hey welcome Back Turbo,

I was wondering if you could make a telepathy build using the new powers, mainly dps but that can actually survive. thanks in advance.

Here's that Telepathy DPS build. Power order is kinda wonky, I just picked what I thought was best. Picked Manipulator for ease of stacking, extra utility, and because Concentration doesn't benefit the DoTS all that much.

You could also take the advantage on Congress of Selves. Sacrifice some damage for a Trauma debuff on all your control powers to take care of those pesky healing mobs.

Word of warning: Not a great Farming build. This is best for Alert bosses and Cosmics, since they give you enough time to stack the debuffs to rupture them. If you want extra killing power I recommend taking Ego Sprites ASAP since not only do they double stack, but they crit, and can heal you. Best to replace Ego Sleep with it.

Definitely some very useful stuff in here - I'm not following any of your builds exactly, but they've given me some good ideas and pointed out some useful powers I hadn't noticed yet.

And, of course, I'm posting here because I've got a concept that I'm not sure I have the system knowledge to make work right: heavy weapons with a bit of fire... using Night Warrior, Form of the Tempest, and Fury of the Dragon.
So I'm looking at things like Brimstone, Eruption with the Magma Burst advantage, Fire Breath as a good way of mowing down spread out minions (and a good way to get lots of quick hits and stack Form of the Tempest)... stuff like that.

But, for example, I really don't know if I should be looking at Strength or Dex as primary super stat, or which active offense(s?) I should be considering, or what to do about making sure she's got sufficient defenses / self-healing, or if Form of the Tempest is actually the best choice to get heavy weapons to play nice with Fury of the Dragon, or... etc.

Advice (or an actual build if you're feeling particularly generous) would be appreciated.

Fury of the dragon requires a Focus Form to be anywhere near competitive to any power whatsoever. Otherwise it's very lackluster. As such, I mixed in powers that function fine without strength or enrage.

Hey, just wanted to drop a note here - ended up talking to TurboRaptor in-game, and revised the provided build to focus a bit more on heavy weapons. Works quite well, and - from some playing around on the PTR - I can see that it'll just get better as I gain levels and gear. (...Though I'm also looking at some of the builds in this thread, and will probably try a few of them on PTR sometime.)

The one thing I'd note that I changed, though: I dropped Power Swell, in favor of, well, anything else. I found that the energy discount it offered simply wasn't necessary - and while neither of the other options (10% dodge vs AoEs, or a ridiculously tiny amount of crit chance) are particularly compelling, they beat out a cost discount when I've got effectively unlimited energy anyway.

Yeah, I've started to drop Power Swell in my builds in favor of Brush it off. Combat Training doesn't scale that well, anyway, so I started to take Brush it off.

Good for Gravitar, at the very least.

The world needs more Aura of Ebon Destruction builds, so I made one! TK Assault to maximize effectiveness of the passive for yourself. Heals and such so you can take advantage of your Presence stat. Presence so the team component gives more.

The site may say you can't take powers in that order, but I tested this on the PTS and it works just fine. Just make sure you take the energy builder when you have the Ebon Sorcery page open, then go from there.

Hey turbo, I was wondering what your take on a batman style build would be. Martial Arts, Stealth, boomerangs, bolas, smoke bombs. All that classic batman stuff

    Hey turbo, awesome thread dude.
I just bought my first FF slot in the sale and am completely new to the builds stuff.

But I've had the character worked out...
A speedy, stealthy, nanotech-enhanced cyber ninja who uses multiple precisely placed strikes (one hundred hands) to take out enemies and resorts to the use of his dual pistols (lead tempest), dual swords (sword cyclone) and sniper rifle (obvious) only as a last option.
    Survivable DPS type thing.

Is that even possible, cause I have no idea.

If yes, what do you suggest?

    Thanks and stay awesome!

Sorry about the long delay, ectoone. Here's a build for you, but it doesn't have -everything- you want. You could easily replace something, such as Conviction if you think you'll be fine for Smoke Bomb/Smoke Grenade.

Sorry for the delay, wraith9th. Finally got around to making this build as well. Survivable DPS thanks to the Con, with One Hundred Hands. I didn't include Sword Cyclone however, because it's kind of pointless to take it if you have Lead Tempest. Of course if it's important to concept, you could replace Conviction and take a hit to survivability.

    Hey Turbo,

With regards to you celestial hybrid build on page 12, is it workable to substitute palliate and redemption with some crowd control? or maybe even something more selfish like another buff or a self rez?

Yep. It's mainly there just because it's a Celestial power. Just pick whatever you want, really.

I have a friend who is playing a character who gets his powers from a dragon chi spirit. He is unarmed with fire attacks. He uses the fire builder and right now he has mostly unarmed attacks. I thought it might be cool to make a character that is somewhat similar by combining another of the elemental attacks with unarmed.

Do you have any ideas which one would work best with unarmed? I guess the choices would be between Ice, wind, earth (I hate earth's builder) and maybe electricity though that could be part of air I guess.

    Thanks.

    EDIT:

I have kind of refined the idea. Other than the unarmed combat skills, the character is imbued with powers from the Great Sky Dragon, the Bringer of Storms. I got this idea from Stormbringer also enhancing crushing attacks. This allows for wind, ice and electricity powers in the build.

I am beginning to think that I need to focus only on one elemental type as trying to fit three types in is getting me nowhere.

Maybe after the holidays, Turbo can work his mojo and help me with a working build. I will keep trying though.

Here you go. Took a little extra tweeking, but I think I found a sweetspot. To be honest, since the Aura change came, Quarry is pretty much the superior option. If you really want to though, you can take Stormbringer instead.

I had found this on the test server forums for patch notes. I don't know if it went live, but it doesn't match the Wiki.
Quarry: This power now grants 10% base dodge and +5% base Avoidance per stack (down from 15% and 7.5% respectively). Additionally, the maximum bonus per stack of this power has been reduced to 20 per stack (down from 30).

It may match what is in game. I am not sure.

Turbo, I wonder if you could help me with another build?

My lack of a character concept using my favorite travel power, swinging, began to bug me so I worked out a concept. I wanted a character with a good ranged AoE and great single target damage. I wanted the attacks to be of a non lethal variety. Boomerangs sounded good for the builder and AoE. I found out that I could get a nightstick from the Resistance adventure, so I played it until I got one for a non lethal 'sword' attack.

The basic concept is a character who isn't strong, but is super agile and extremely hard to hit. Basically a Spiderman, Catwoman, Daredevil, Batwoman type.

I threw together this build which I am sure needs some adjusting. I took Lightning Reflexes, but I am not too sure about it. I do not have any characters with much money and none with any crafting skill worth mentioning to get the best gear and mods, so it will be all quest items, drops and the few thing I can get cheap on the AH while I level up.

I mainly took EM for the back flipping agile movement not to mention the bonuses.. I wish there was a lunge like that.

Can you work your magic to make it better?

I have been thinking, its a bad habit I know, but I have been wondering about Reapers Caress + Embrace vs Dragon's Bite.

Looking at the stats on the Wiki, assuming they are right for damage and activation times to get the max damage out of the reapers combo, I would have to:

Caress x 3 to get 1 bleed (Assuming no 15% luck bleed)
x 5 to get max bleed stack.
    Rupture with Embrace.

Accounting for delay, lag and so forth, this would take about 12 seconds (max) according to the activation times and my maths. Total damage would be around 7868 (base).

In that time period I should be able to get off 7 to 8 full charge Dragon Bites for 7364-8416 (base).

Is it really worth all the spastic button spamming to do the reapers combo considering that DB gives me energy each time I do a full charge?

On another note, I am looking at maybe adding some more flavor to the build with a few possibly useful powers like Bolas or Grapple Gun Pull. Are they worth using considering the only mobs worth using them on may be immune? Smoke Bomb would be cool, except for the 2 minute cooldown.

You might try the lariat from might and infernal for bleed procs, from my experience, that is how you stack them fastest if you want to spam embrace, if not, try SMG, or the method you stated yourself.

Since this thread is purely for Freefroms, not gonna be much help here for an AT. However, here is a place that has tons of AT builds for you to browse through.

A while ago, you helped me out with this build; we ended up modifying it some to focus a bit more on heavy weapons, but I wanted to drop by with another change I made, later, based on gameplay: I'd advise using Form of the Tiger for a focus / heavy weapons build. Form of the Tempest is great with maintains or other fast attacks that crit often, but heavy weapons doesn't have that - and the ability to stack up or maintain focus with Brimstone, even without any enemies nearby, is very convenient.
Fury of the dragon requires a Focus Form to be anywhere near competitive to any power whatsoever. Otherwise it's very lackluster. As such, I mixed in powers that function fine without strength or enrage.
