Turbo Raptor's build dump.

So occasionally my friends ask me, 'Hey Turbo, can you make me a build?'. Other times they say they have a problem with their current build and I just throw one of these at 'em. I figured I'd make this forum post to put all of the builds I may make for people to look at.

For builds that don't use Ego or Str as a main superstat, they're often not a secondary stat in my builds. This is because I raise them via gear and talents. Same goes for where the Crit comes from. Most of the time, items. So bear that in mind if you plan on using any of these builds.

So anyway, here's a build I'm using on my Boomerang-focused character. Themed to use boomerangs and chains made of bones and also various hexes.

A basic ice build. Ice Burst and Ice Wall are really just filler and you could take whatever else. Optimal use of it is to tap Frost Breath, Shatter, rinse and repeat. 'cos Shattering ice objects is a waste of time, more often than not.

So I was playing around with my Munitions character, Bulletmancer, and decided to post his currently planned build. It's basically the same stuff the Soldier Archetype has, just with added utility and such.

Now, before I was thinking of using Dex. Though I find myself enamored with that little specialization, Exploit Opening. With 100% severity, that's 30% extra damage on the next attack every crit. Since this build's abilities are mainly fast hitting attacks, the amount of boosted damage(Hello, Assault Rifle with mow 'em down!), it's just... so great.

    So yeah. 'dis happened.

Ah, this is one of my favorite builds. Now, it was mainly a pvp one but I loved using it in pve. Especially against bosses. With Shadow Form and Smoke Grenade, you'd be essentially invisible. So long as you kept your distance and someone was taking all the hate, you'd be able to safely DPS the target down with little to no danger.

This is another build which I really like Exploit Opening on... well pretty much every build with fast hitting ranged attacks, that is.

A heavy weapons build! This one is DPS focused, as are... pretty much every one of my builds are. Haha. Whoops. I'll make some tanky ones and healy ones too, soon(tm).

But yes. I used this build for a while on an old char of mine. Charge in, smack things around n' stab 'em a bit. Then, yell at them.

    I said I'd make a tank build, Didn't I? Well I did. So there.

It's a bit different than what I'm used to doing. TK blades crit tank with LR. Non resist base. The idea is to dodge most things and get resistance via powers and specs when you crit. Of course, critting also gives you HP with Siphoning Strikes. There's also the benefit that with eruption you'll be glowing pretty much all the time, so have fun with that.

Random ominous titles, go! Seriously, though. This is a build I made for one of my concept characters, named 'The Dweller'. It's simple. She's dead, except not really, and can manipulate her dead flesh to her whim, and repairs it quite easily. As such, it's a very durable build. On top of that, in character, her favored method of dispatching baddies is slashing them up with Blade arms(See, Roin'esh swords).

So with that in mind, I combined Durable with very Punchy themed attacks to simulate her using her bladed hands. The end result was a fun tank that I enjoyed from level 1-40 without much tweeking in her build at all. However the Venomous Breath was a new addition, as was Sentinel Mastery. Why those, you ask? Because maintaining that not only increases threat with Challenging Strikes, but holds targets occasionally, which sets off the heal. It's a cone, so it hits multiple targets. Multiple holds, multiple heals, for you and your team... You see where this is going, right?

Anyway, this build has some flaws, some strong points, but it's still fun as heck. So, without further blabbering... Ladies and Gentlemen, The Dweller!

Self Explanatory. Meant for ease of threat grabbing and high, boss-killing single target damage.

Invuln instead of Defiance because imo Defiance is poop when compared to it.

Alternatively, the newer build is at the 6th page.

A little while ago I wanted to make a earth DPS build. Though when I tried to make it, I realized something. It's got too much of that 'hybrid' flavor. Both melee and ranged. Ranged being all about knocks with different animations and silly gimmicks and melee with a reskinned uppercut and that's pretty much it.

Though what stood out to me was Onslaught. It may not seem like much at a glance, but if you look at the advantage, it basically gives the power a chance to crit for -100%- more damage AND knock anything hit. So I thought, wow, that'd be awesome for a crit build! Crit once, then that crit crits, and you crit twice. I'll stop myself here before I make an Inception joke.

Though finding other attacks lackluster and not wanting to mix might, I sought other things. It lead me to use Martial Arts claws. Why? Earth Claw skins! So I figured, why not, and I mixed the two.

I played around with this build and it's very much workable. A bit boring with only two(three if you could Shred. It's only there for the debuff, really) attacks, but those numbahs.

I'm sure someone could enjoy playing it, though. Anyhoo, enough blabbering. Orange text time.

For all you Fire-based Heroes out there, here's a build for you. Focusing entirely on what Fire is meant for, this'll get the job done. However, this is meant for level 40s that have access to cost-reduction gear. If anyone is interested in leveling with this, switch Ego with Endurance and Con with Dexterity.

This is The Inventor 2.0! Or at least, my version of it. I added all the gadgeteering pets but Attack Toys could easily be sacrificed for something else like a shield or direct heal. Concentration could also be swapped for Compassion.

Close-range Melee Earth/Fire tank. Charge in, drop a fire patch and a fissure, then either Onslaught 'em, Defensive Combo 'em, or Unleashed Rage 'em.

nice collection, some inquiries are at hand on certain builds:
    on the fire build:
imo dark transfusion is not neccessary, i'd replace it for heatwave, it takes a little to setup yes, but it lasts for a whole minute! and all you have to do at that point(and this is mainly for single target such as bosses etc) is tap to refresh it, and trust me, that 60% debuff makes a world of difference if you want to get to that 7k conflags point.

the might tank looks solid, personally i would switch out con for str and keep the numbers (con around 400, str at around 240 etc) for the extra severity and defense, dmg=threat as well, but that's just me.

My build directory (work in progress)

I'll be honest, I just don't like Heatwave anymore. Ever since it was turned into an incapacitate, getting 6 stacks of Heatwave requires 2 cooldowns on a boss. I run without it nowadays with just Fireball's UA and Fire Snake. Dark Transfusion is mostly filler, and can be replaced with anything. A nice thing to have though, for those moments where energy just doesn't seem to come fast enough.

Here's a ranged-based earth DPS build. I tested it out a bit and, despite not being the BEST, It's still fun. The Delayed knock on Fissure is funny, too!

This build has a lil' bit of every CC, really. Knocks(of course), snares(stagger), a Root(Fissure's advantage), and a Single target Stun.

Also, Quarry. Get it? Quarry? Like, Rock Quarry. Dohoho.

Someone asked me to make a force build, so I made a force build! Now, the super stats are not 100% needed. Endurance can be switched with Con with the right gear for example. This however, will maximize your energy capabilities. With Quarry, you will have the ability to dodge as well, providing that much-needed surviability. BCR helps a lot with that but if you favor another power it's one of the powers you can swap out.

Now, as you can tell already, this isn't an Aura of Primal Majesty build. Even so, you should be able to tap Force Cascade repeatedly. However I've also included Crushing wave for times where you don't want to send anything flying 200 ft away.

    So, anyway, here's the build.

Do you feel the hairs on the back of your neck stand up? That's probably the anticipation of causing extreme widespread destruction with the crackling power of LIGHTNING.

End as a second superstat for ease of use. If one feels comfortable, eventually, moving onto Con would be better.

Rotation is simple. Send out your orbs, Cast Thunderstrike with Sonic Device on it, then Gigabolt or Lightning Arc away.

Rejuvenating Injectors are Optional but 6 Orbs and 2 back to back Sonic Devices are nice. if pvping you could probably switch those out for force geyser or some other quick casting ability.

And we're back, with MORE builds NO ONE will ever use!

This time, I made a Darkness-focused build, but with lotsa pets. I actually made a build like this before to try and get a necromancy feel. Diiidn't work that well with the theme so I just call it 'Shadow Summoner'. Real imaginative, right?

Anyway, not 100% if commander specs effect temp pets, but it does the main pet. Rest is just to keep your pets alive, passively, while you nuke whatever it is you're fighting.

Do you have any idea how to build a decent Blade+Unarmed MA toon at all, I have an idea but the mechanics confuse me, plus I dunno what would be better between single blade or dual blades, all I know is I wanna use Night Warrior, Dragon Kick and Dragon Punch in there

Single Blade does not mix well with Night Warrior, or anything else besides itself in terms of powers. For Single Blade to be good, you need to maximize damage via your attacks and Bleeds, which is a job for WotW. Night Warrior doesn't syngergize well due to not boosting bleeds. On top of that, Bleeds break stealth. Sadly, Beastial Does Single Blade's job better except for the rupturing.

However for Dual Blades, Night Warrior works just fine. Though I would choose between Dragon Uppercut and Dragon Kick, depending on what your blade powers are.

Taking Duppercut? Don't take Dragon's Wrath, Instead take Sword Cyclone or Blade Tempest.

Taking Dkick? Don't take Sword Cyclone, take Dragon's Wrath.

Of course that's just because I hate redundancy. Either way, you can take all three and still be fine. That's usually what I've seen in pvp builds of old.

Back when CoX was still online, I had a character that I named Planejumper. Staff/EA Brute, really fun to play. His explination for his powers lay in his ability to teleport at will and phase himself out to avoid attacks.

Though CO doesn't have Staff powers or good Shieldy, phasy aura armor powers or anything. So I made an unarmed/Nightwarrior build with heavy emphisis on getting in and out of stealth and Teleport as a main travelpower.

I have yet to test it but I bet spamming shadow strike would be fun.

cheesesloppy, it may be a bit extreme for one character, but the Wizard costume set unlocks a pretty nice looking staff weapon for heavy weapons. The attacks made with it look pretty good. If you added void shift for your lunge, it'd give the effect of a short distance teleport jump, and coupled w/ a teleport travel power, you'd get a pretty good effect. I'm currently using heavy weapons w/ the staff and ninja leaves as my travel power, just for this effect...

Void Shift hides your weapon, though. Decimate is the only lunge that will allow you to keep the staff out, if that's your goal.

Yes, I know about the staff for Heavy Weapons. It's just that the attacks are so slow looking and awkward for a staff that I decided to do Unarmed. Flows better that way, for me at least.

Still, thank you for suggesting it anyway!

Afternoon, Heros and Heroines! TurboRaptor here with another build for y'all.

Now, I know what a lot of people say about telepathy. It's not great, it doesn't do it's job, etc. That much is true! Telepathy is not great at the job it's supposed to do, but let's face it. ALL control powers in this game, except stuns and knocks, are pretty lackluster.

So with this in mind I engineered this little beauty. You might say "Just go Ranged TK!", and I would, but that's not very thematic. This build is all about appearing to just use your Mind... but it fails in that and instead it looks like you're throwing pink energy everywhere. Which is cool!

Anyway, I tested this out a bit and from what I see, it's pretty awesome. Not as awesome as other complete power sets, but awesome. You got high Single Target damage through Ego Blast. Yes. Ego Blast. Mind Opener causes you to do an extra hit of damage each time you attack when effected by Telepathic Reverberation. Thing is, that happens even if you tap it. It does roughly the same as a tap, so you'll be hitting twice.

Best part about that is that if it crits, it counts as two attacks. So if you take Avenger Mastery, you can charge one up again for less than a second. It does a lot of damage really quickly. Seriously. Try it. It's amazing(for a Blast). Even better if you use Ego Sleep(Which this build has) for 15% more damage. Early on that's going to be the main combo, and you'll have a pretty easy time. If you have the patience.

Of course you can also go Sentinel Mastery. That way each time you use Ego Sleep, you get a heal when you hit the target for you AND your team. Not a bad trade off for sacrificing some DPS.

The rest of the set is pretty much just to fill in the AoE gaps as best as I could with the use of Telepathy powers. It does a decent job of it because Ego Sprites hits decent enough. Ego Storm is good for keeping them locked down, until someone breaks the hold. Summon Nightmare is a quick charge so you can use it before a fight to give some breathing room. Last but not least is Collective Will. Use Ego Sleep, summon 3 unhittable pets that each charge ego blast for around 1.5k? Pretty nice, especially if they all focus on the boss. Remember to use it on a held target, though, otherwise it'll only summon one!

    Anyway, here's the build.

    Nice build. Pretty accurate commentary.

The only true "useful" power from telepathy to me is Mindful Reinforcement.. Is there a reason you decided against it?

For DPS don't you feel that mobility is key? Why take the stationary blast power over the much preferred mobile maintain of TK Assault? They are both T0 so it wouldn't change the tier progression.

You have the energy builder, Sprites, Blast and Storm (when its not on cooldown). Do you feel that you are lacking in direct (not pet) damage choices with only an Aoe, Blast and Maintained AoE (in this case a click AoE Pet with Malevolent Manifestation).

Did concentration get procced by your Malevolent Manifestation? Last I knew it did not. The only two powers in your build that proc concentration is Ego Sprites (on initial hit) and Ego Blast. Do you feel the stacks build too slow? Or are you casting extra stacks of Ego Sprites (even tho the stacks are maxed at two) to keep the concentration up?

I am assuming you are specc'd for crits (because offense sucks so much in comparison) but the DoT damage does not crit.. so a big portion of your direct damage is not helped by your crits.. really it is ONLY your Ego Blast that is helped. Do you feel that speccing for crits for ONE power is better than speccing for penetration or for heal strength?

All of the other powers are outshined in damage by telekinesis. I can kind of understand your desire to use telepathy's animations.. but do you feel you will continue with this build.. knowing that a stronger build is right around the corner?

Finally, compared to the many builds you've made and taken lengths to maximize their potential. Would you say that this build, any build using the telepathy framework, is comparably flawed or that it works as well as other sets, as many other posters (not myself or Ravenforce) have alleged?

    Nice build. Pretty accurate commentary.

1: The only true "useful" power from telepathy to me is Mindful Reinforcement.. Is there a reason you decided against it?

2: For DPS don't you feel that mobility is key? Why take the stationary blast power over the much preferred mobile maintain of TK Assault? They are both T0 so it wouldn't change the tier progression.

3: You have the energy builder, Sprites, Blast and Storm (when its not on cooldown). Do you feel that you are lacking in direct (not pet) damage choices with only an Aoe, Blast and Maintained AoE (in this case a click AoE Pet with Malevolent Manifestation).

4: Did concentration get procced by your Malevolent Manifestation? Last I knew it did not. The only two powers in your build that proc concentration is Ego Sprites (on initial hit) and Ego Blast. Do you feel the stacks build too slow? Or are you casting extra stacks of Ego Sprites (even tho the stacks are maxed at two) to keep the concentration up?

5: I am assuming you are specc'd for crits (because offense sucks so much in comparison) but the DoT damage does not crit.. so a big portion of your direct damage is not helped by your crits.. really it is ONLY your Ego Blast that is helped. Do you feel that speccing for crits for ONE power is better than speccing for penetration or for heal strength?

1: This build is meant for DPS. I could easily swap out Summon Nightmare or Collective Will for it if I wanted to/someone else wanted to.

2: Mobility is key, yes. With the notion that I want to be as effective as possible. However, this was meant to use Telepathy powers with as little outside abilities as possible, while still remaining effective. I also just tap Ego Blast most of the time, so that way I can remain mobile.

3: This build has above-average Single target damage due to Ego Blast's advantage, at least in my opinion. With rapid taps it puts out a lot of damage, especially since if the main hit crits, the second hit crits as well. That said, the AoE damage is lacking heavily. Ego Sprites and Ego Storm lack the nessicary oomph to quickly down even henchmen. The pets were taken because of that, to help ease the pressure when soloing.

4: I don't remember if it did or not. Considering it's a close-range power and I'm not maintaining it myself I'm going to assume it doesn't. That said, yes, I do tap Ego Sprites to keep at least one stack up. Between that and Ego Blast spamming, I feel like it stacks just fine.

5: Ego Sprites actually does crit, but I don't rely on it. It's more of a passive bonus to the lackluster AoE damage. Conviction can crit as well, so that is another area where having crits helps. Penetration doesn't appeal to me at all, really. Considering the lack of enemies actually sporting passives I ignore it. For heal strength, this build has very little healing beyond Conviction and Ego Sprite's Slave Mentality. I usually just switch to Hybrid if I need more healing.

6: That depends. If it were my MAIN, which it isn't, I probably wouldn't be able to stomach it for very long because of how attractive the damage output from TK is. However, if it's a MUST for the Concept to use strictly TELEPATHY, I would tough it out. Plus, I have lots and lots of character slots so I can fiddle as I please.

7: Basically: Good single target damage with decent interrupt-like CC through the use of Ego Sleep. Average healing potential, awesome Shield power. Poor AoE damage.

Great if you want a concept character, but not if you want the best of the best.

dunno how's your energy management, but telepathic reverb scales off PRE.

Was thinking the same, you'd better swap that out for MSA, since you have INT, Ego Reverb will not work because you dont have anything to generate Ego Leech Stacks.

So unless you have some form of PRE, TP reverb is gonna fail hard.

Forgive me if i'm wrong.. but doesn't the additional damage on the Adv of Ego Blast ONLY work on targets that are affected by Telepathic Reverb? Thus his reason for the choice. We all know energy management is a HUGE joke in the current state of Champions Online.

Also doesn't Telepathic Reverb only proc at like 50ft? So using it for a 100ft attack seems kind of counter intuitive (Specifically since your enemy can just move out of range while you charge the attack).

I actually didn't notice the 50ft range, mostly because of my playstyle I imagine. I run around a lot, even when I don't have to. Still, that sours it a tiny bit but I already knew I was working with a bad apple to begin with. Doesn't surprise me to find a few extra worms in it.

Anyway, at level 40 with the Int, Gear, Spec, and Concentration, Energy isn't much an issue.

So, my main character is a dragon-type character. She's fire, but I got bored of fire, but I don't have enough money for a retcon. Still made the build anyway.

So I decided to throw together a Chi-Warrior type build. Did a bit of testing with it, too. What I found was the advantage on Burning Chi Fist makes One Hundred Hands a lot more fun. One could argue you don't need it because of Dragon Uppercut, but this is a concept build. Arguably you don't need Dragon Kick, either, so that can be replaced with Inexorable tides or something. I took it because it's a stun rather than a knock.

Still, build is fun. Here y'go.

Here's another build. A fun one! I just got finished testing it, actually. Basically it's all about using the Experimental Blaster to do crazy things. See, when you tap it there's a high chance it'll do two hits, which can both be a critical strike. Mix that with Aura of Ebon Destruction and you have a huge block of yellow numbers from 1 tap.

The rest are just like, filler, I guess, to fill out the whole Gadgeteer concept. Spec trees are debatable. I put Sentinel because it'll give extra support and when you use Sonic Device/Get lucky with a Blaster stun, it'll make the main target heal anything that hits it. 'Tis a nice combo, imo. Anyway, here's the build. Enjoy.

So I got thinking to myself, 'Turbo, Archery has lots of control powers. If they worked with manipulator, it'd cause all sorts of awesome combos!'. Then I tested it and it turns out it don't work that way.

Though I wasn't deterred. The build I had in mind just took a more DPSy route instead of Uber Controls. After a bit of tinkering, I made this. Once again, this is where I think Sentinel Mastery shines.

Sonic Arrow is a stun, and the basic attack. It'll trigger the mastery and one of the Debuffs from the specs. Taser Arrow is where the real fun is, though. High Single Target damage, and causes all the debuffs granted from spec trees, which is -29% resistance to damage. Also Sentinel Mastery.

With as much presence as you'll have, your personal heals(One of which can heal in a small area if you take the advantage), you'll be able to keep yourself alive. Bionic Shielding is there for a bit more extra team healing but it can be replaced with virtually anything else. Same goes for Lock n' Load. Probably like a HP bubble and a rez. Whichever floats yer boat.

Targeting Computer can also be switched for whatever. I just like it more because it makes the non-physical arrows hit to their maximum potential. Without passive swapping. You COULD take aura of ebon destruction and also help your team more. Again, s'up to you.

I wasn't kidding when I named this 'most versatile'.

Edit: Build Tested. Works just fine.

That's what I think when I think of a "Primal Warrior". Primal Magic also has electricity involved somehow. Guess to be shamanistic? No idea.

I made a build out of it, somehow. No idea how it works, because I haven't tested it, but it looks fun.

start off with thunder strike then Ball Lightning, which'll fuel your energy. Then charge in, Crush some Skulls with Skullcrusher, drop Primal Sigils, and then used Unleashed Rage when you see fit.

Seems fun, in Theory. Lemmie know what you guys think!

Self Explanatory. Meant for ease of threat grabbing and high, boss-killing single target damage.

Invuln instead of Defiance because imo Defiance is poop when compared to it.

I'm loving the look of this build Turbo, but I would like to ask a couple of questions.

First of all, I see that there is no active offense......I take it you did this on purpose and I was just wondering why. Would it be worth my while changing one of the attacks (as you have so many) to an active offense?

The other thing is, I'm currently on lvl 29......I take it this is not a levelling build. What would be the best level to respec into this build?

I look forward to your response:smile:

Ask and ye shall receive. That build was kind of old before I worked with stats more. This is a better one, and it has what you asked for. No demolish, but your Single Target damage comes from Haymaker.

Also defensive Combo procs Setup, so you can use that to get 20% more damage with Haymaker, Havoc Stomp, or Unleashed Rage.

If you find it to be too slow just take Roomsweeper early on.
