What's wrong with black and red?

The fact that it's overdone for edginess' sake. That and people in this game have a tendency to use the brightest red with the darkest black making the character look like an awful neon monstrosity.

Darkest black and brightest red, don't forget all chain-y and spike-y costume parts you can find. Set crimson red glow to the max.

Bonus points if you can slap the Dark Aura on top of it.

Now you are a truly original eeeviiil lord.

    Just like 1264833746983746198769283756928765 others. Lol.

Works with evil hooded ninjassassins as well.

Dang. I always ensure using darker colors together unless if I want to symbolize a special feature. Like having a single glowing Gadroon shaper shield on your right hand glowing in green while the rest is of dark blue and purple. Well yeah , I think dark blue looks better than black when using metal texture. But dang, black and neon red O.o ! Total eye-killer. I have come across only about two or three blackredders so far though...

Whats wrong with picking black and neon-green or bright blue for that 80s cyberpunk/Tron asthetic where the intention IS to be bright and Neon, the 80s weren't known for being subtle.

Black body with bright neon-pink armour and eyes combined with the kirby crackle aura is practically a homage to characters of that era.

It's fine if those are the concepts you're trying to go for. Unfortunately, most blackredders are trying to be the 6th son of Asmodeus and Prince of the 15th level of Heck and decorate themselves accordingly with all sorts of horns and spikes.

Ah fair point, I normally limit my black + neon colour scheme to the things mentioned above, normally representing things like holograms (like the Fighting Wire frames from Super Smash Bros Melee) or Kirby era characters.

I do have a black/gold superhero outfit but that doesn't use the darkest black and by its nature gold can't be neon bright (that would be yellow :P)

    Another misconception on Turando here.

Many believe he is only armed with a couple of pistols, his nanite sprayer, and some resurrection serum and that he relies on this small arsenal during 100% of combat. Truth be told, he's more of a gadgeteer than everyone thinks. Because of the massive amount of resources it takes to research, produce, and refill his equipment, Turando only uses it sparingly and relies on more normal methods such as hand-to-hand, pre-planned attacks, and standard first-aid usage.

Tools also available to the Manimal Combat Medic are a quick-deploying nanite generator that covers a large area, simpler first-aid kits, a grappling hook for vertical travel and collecting objects at a distance, as well as a never used multipurpose vehicle roughly the size of a tank which can serve as a mobile first-response station, research lab and personnel carrier.

No one really knows what materials he uses to build his supplies... yet.

Outside of his equipment, all Turando has is high agility and manimal instincts. He can smell blood at a distance and, when following its trail, moves progressively faster toward its source; ally or enemy.

This one time I made a character that is a lizard person, but they're not actually a lizard person they're actually a succubus cat girl angel inside of a really well made lizard person costume and every time somebody referred to me as a lizard person I got mad and yelled at them, can you believe people? ugh, cis-costumed people make me sick.

People think most of my toons are burly bald guys with facial hair as some sort of commentary on the tension between homoerotic aesthetics and modern conceptions of masculinity.

    Oh, wait--this is misconceptions.

    Nevermind.
