So I'd had this idea back in the CoH days for a "Super Group." I wanted to do it here, but I'm really anti-social and none of my friends and family play, so I just stuck it in the back burner. Reading RogueKorr's thread with his alien clone gave me the bug to pull it back out.

I just recently got my second "main" to 40, and decided, what better way to start a new character and force myself to team with people than to start this Super Group. Hopefully you guys like the idea. Without further ado:

Brigade!
Brigade, the Multi-Man, is a Super Hero with a unique power: he can split his body into multiple copies. Beyond that, whenever he makes a new copy, it develops its own powers, completely independent of his own super powers.

Attachment not found.

The idea would be that any Brigade logged on to the game is a copy of him, and when logged out, that copy disappears until it can be "summoned" again (logging back in).

Rules for character creation would be using the attached costume file and naming the character Brigade. Beyond that, everything else is up to the player. Choice of powers, what the powers look like, anything, is up to anyone who wants to be Brigade.

As far as Super Group rules, casual and friendly. Every member will have the ability to recruit and invite people to the Super Group, but they must be named Brigade and use the attached costume. While I don't RP, I won't mind if people choose to. The Super Group is already formed, and waiting for people to join.

I'll make it a point to join any other Brigade who's logged in and sidekick down or up to their level, help do missions, etc., since this is a character made to get me to get used to teaming.

So, is anyone interested in the idea? If there's enough interest we can get some people together and do some missions! If not, Brigade can go work on his tea set!

Brigade has a new, slightly-changed costume!

I'll consider it. I like the idea.I personally would consider changing the color of the boots and bracers to white, but I guess that is what alternate costumes are for.

I had a similar idea myself for a themed SG. My thought was that there would be core similarities but each character would have something changed, whether it be the hair style, helmet, shoulder armor, boots, accessories, something. Anyway, I've got the file saved and will consider it.

I'd consider doing this, if only to make me work on being a healer in a group. Of course, if you're just interested in having a non-cloned healer, I do have a pure celestial at level 16 or so...

That's not for me. Tried something similar in CoH once. didn't last long. Trying to be unique and designing my characters plays just a much to big part in my enjoyment of these games. Still, fun idea and good luck with it.

Hmmm I take it that we aren't allowed to change the color of his costume? And are two "Clones" allowed to have the same powers..as long as they aren't the same colors?

I wouldn't be against changing the colors. If people are going to be using the costume, I want them to be comfortable with it. But yeah, everyone's costume should be the same.

As far as builds, that's completely open. If two people come out exactly the same, no problem. Like I said, anyone that joins up can do anything at all with their character, just have to have the name and the costume. :)

Changing costume colors would make sense, since he can split up and have different powers. So costume color could go with the powers. I may give a run for this also. Sounds fun to have dozen of "clones" runnin around. Costume contest would be a pain. :D

    *EDIT*
Ok, had a boring day so i made 1, changed blue to dark purplish (i can haz that?) as his main color. Powers TK and Force. Now at lvl 11.
I copypasted "Brigade, the Multi-Man, is a Super Hero with a unique power: he can split his body into multiple copies. Beyond that, whenever he makes a new copy, it develops its own powers, completely independent of his own super powers." in his bio.

Give me a holler anytime @smackwell while I'm on with any character and I'll team up with you guys soon as I can. :)

Gah you butt, next time just make a new post cause I totally missed your edit!

I've downloaded your costume and will add it to my Brigade's costumes. I figure different costume colors would be fine, as long as when together, we all use the same one. We can all switch back and forth on what color we like that day. :)

Also, when you or anyone else logs on to Brigade, do a search for other Brigades (or search for me @smackwell) so we can team up. I'll stop whatever I'm doing to team up.

If anyone else comes up with another color scheme, post it up so all other Brigades can wear it when together.

I've made a color-neutral version that I think maybe more people would like, and also took Mykahel's advice and made the bracers and boots white. I really like the look, and here's the costume file:
    Attachment not found.

A costume like this should play better with different people's auras and such, so maybe it'll help people ease into the costume. :)

Sorry for being so sneaky. :p
I made the blue default as my second costume. Need to figure out how to change powercolors to fit the suit colors when switching costumes...As for powers I took Kinetick Darts, Ego Blast, Ego Sprites, Force Eruption and Regen as a Passive so far. Ego Blades be good, but dont want to use them with this one. Taking some advices for next powers, since i have no idea. :D
And you can send SG invites thru Champedia's supergroups. (if you didnt know)

Yeah you're actually the highest level Brigade already. :D

Can't help you with the powers since I never really played TK to any real degree.

I've made a Brigade... and man does it feel ODD not being Bob...

ANYway, we's green and he's gone for fire (which I've also coloured green)

Hopefully I'll bump into someone who is in the SG to get added next time I'm on. But for now, DINNER!

Cool! We've all got separate outfits at the moment, but each of us also has the default blue themed one for when we group together.

We had our first Brigade Team outing today!
    Attachment not found.

There's me on the left, Mykahel in the middle, and FlyingFinn on the right. The other guy was a hero named Volt who wants to join the ranks!

All in all it was really fun. We sidekicked up to Finn and helped him bang out some missions. This whole teaming thing might not be such a drag after all! :D

Anyways, hope to see a few more people in there soon! And for you guys already in the SG, feel free to invite anyone who wants to play along.

I got to say that i'm not much for teaming either, i do team sometimes with (few) friends i got but its rare. I lvled my toons mostly solo (dead sg is one thing). But things like this "clone" things are fun. I hope this picks up and we get more members.
And when i'm online, throw me a /tell and i'll switch to Brigade.

Just found 2 Brigades that are not clones. Was trying to reel them in. :D

Coloring all your powers to match costume color:
These set the costume change in Builds.

    /bind KEY "buildSet 0 $$ PowerHue 0 200" 1st costumeslot Blue default.
    /bind KEY "buildSet 1 $$ PowerHue 0 210" 2nd slot
    and so on.

Color hue goes from 00 to 255. So blue color is somewhere in 200.

We all made alterations, at least in color, for our other costume slots, but we want at least one of the costumes to all be exactly the same.

I for instance made a zombie version of Brigade since I was using dark/infernal powers.

I think this is a great concept and would love to whip up a toon for it...

Question: Is the first costume you posted still the official costume? I noticed you posted another afterwards (with the white trim) and I don't want to be improperly dressed for the party...

We kinda had a vote and the blue one is the "official" one when we're teamed up. If you're soloing, you can make a costume with color variations that follow the same pattern (like, you wouldn't do yellow pants and a green top...would you? :D). Usually the white is left white, and the blue is changed to something else.

I personally ended up liking the grey costume better so I like it to use it when I solo.

As far as "we" or "I" each copy of Brigade ends up having a mind of his own, pretty much, you if you're talking about yourself only, it would be I, and if you're talking about the group, we. But, as each one has a mind of his own, he could say "we" if he wanted to. :D
