Nothing wrong with that but its just an observation.

Just curious: You have toons that take 2 rank 3 Flight powers? Really?

I'm not sure where the "rank 3" comes into this? I could maybe guess, but your phrasing makes it sound like I explicitly indicated I was talking about rank 3 flight powers somewhere....?

Hmmm, server is down for maintenance. I wonder if we are getting another patch.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but Phoenix Flight + Wing Costume detection a la Jet Pack?

Not trying to be a nuisance, but it's odd and redundant to have the wing costumes replaced with the Phoenix Wings (which would themselves make a rocking costume piece).

This is something we've talked about before, and I believe we'd like to do, but is much trickier because the wings animate. The Jet Pack FX attach to a specific location. Not to say that we couldn't do that someday, but having this feature doesn't mean it is now a given.
Does the ability to have costume geo affect powers mean you could - in theory - create a player version of things like the Black Talon weapons for Power Armor? (Ie: the missile launching rocket pack and the chaingun arm)?

It means it is theoretically possible. Be aware, that these are not easy, though. They require considerably more work than a "normal" power at this point, and are also a lot more prone to weird bugs, especially with how varied player costumes can be. The chaingun arm in particular is problematic not because of getting a specific power to fire from it, but from getting every single power in the game (that is launched from a players hands) able to fire from it. That generally also means changing animations, not just FX, and that is more difficult.

Our plan is for it to be completely free, only the new Jet Pack costume pack will have a price. This means Silver players will have access to a new Travel Power. If Silver players want to have jets on their boots, they still need to unlock Jet Boots. If all they want are the flight mechanics, then they will now have access to them.

Wow, you guys are being generous...what's the occasion? :D

I always assume people use R3 travel powers.
It was a false assumption sure.

While this probably is an example of being not easy, I suspect a change people would really like would be linking 'holstered/scabbarded weapon' geo with weapon geometry. i.e.
A holstered pistol should use your pistol weapon geo, and when you're using the weapon, it should disappear from its holster. The same for a scabbarded sword, or a bow carried on the back.
A significant problem here is that scabbarded/holstered weapons can actually appear in multiple locations.

Thank you. I didn't think it'd be easy, so it was a...hopeful curiosity. I bought the power on the PTS when back items were still a little unstable, and it allowed me to keep wings with the Phoenix VFX, so I bought it on live only to find out otherwise. It's still a great travel power, just not quite what I thought it was. I'll be quiet (and hopeful) now. :]

Really looking forward to this patch going live with the new toys. The new Gadget Rifle powers open up new alternatives to munitions themed characters without just using the same munitions powers over again.

I actually thought for the longest time I was supposed to use two R3 travel powers. Then I discovered if I kept one R1, I'd have more for other powers and also a travel power to use in instances that wouldn't get me stuck. Found this out around the same time I didn't really need to rank up my energy builder. ...No real point... just bored.. and I'm a newb...

*thinks of a constructive comment to add to thread*

Will the stance I've been hearing about be released alongside the jet pack costume pack with purchase or will we get it free?

    Yay, I dun gud.

While I know it'd be a ton of work <. .>; I would totally, totally, totally be happy if you ever did manage it. The awesome level would be staggering >_> Just uhm, something to consider if time is ever available for such a project.

Just ran Stronghold and noticed a new issue.

The Defender that is summoned during the end fight is only partially using the new costume for Defender. His legs are using the correct piece but the chest and head are still using the old pieces. Here is what it looks like currently.

While I'm on the subject of Stronghold, I'm going to bring up 2 issues that have been bugging me since the review of Stronghold.

Bring the Mind Controlled Brute back! I don't see the reason to take out this guy out (along with his perk and loot). If you think he was too generic, the best idea I heard to solve that is to merge him with Ogre since Ogre is underused. Turn him into the Mind Controlled Ogre with Ogre's look along with the extra psionic arms and head aura that the brute had. Place him on the floor before Menton where nothing is happening anyway and give him some lines to speak. Then finally replace out Ogre on the Cell Block with a random other might villain.

Menton shouldn't go out with a whimper. I think ultimately Menton should escape and have a cut scene for that post fight so he can pose a threat during the high levels. Though at the very least he should say something when he is defeated instead of just falling over. He is a major PnP character and should be given the respect he deserves.

Possible Bug: Sonic Boom Generator uses a different pistol geo than the other gadgeteer pistol powers. Even if this is intended, the default color scheme is probably incorrect. (It is set to the standard munitions colors instead of the color scheme used by the other gadgeteering weapons.

It uses the Sonic Blaster Geo from the Energy Builder.

Its supposed to look like that because its a Sonic Weapon. the other Ray Guns use the Experimental Blaster Geo.

This post 100 percent. Lets give menton the spotlight the deserves.

I was hoping that the jet pack would have a little wrist comp animation but I my hopes were brutally dashed (again). It would so suit my character.

Love the Jetpacks. Now I can make my Jetpack Lizard character. I wouldn't mind seeing more jetpack designs like say the spinning fan jetpacks that you guys had back in the City of Heroes series.

Of course not a total rip of the design, but a CO remix of it. :P

Could we please have the following bug fixed:

Ranking Telekinetic Burst to R3 causes the hit effect (explosion and swords) to play on the player rather than on the targeted mob. It is confirmed by other players and is downright seizure inducing.

I dropped back to Rank 2 exactly because of this bug. :-\

Makes sense. Since both geos have the same options, I wasn't sure if they were intended to be combined. Then the only problem is the default color scheme should probably be changed to match the other Gadgeteer weapons.
