Hey Pulsewave!! thanks for this amazing guide here! You have given me a whole lot of character concepts from this guide & your videos of Genome. i have a build here that i would like you to take a look at & see if you could make suggestions or improvements to. This toon will be a giant monster so feral supernatural was where i stayed at....lots of slashing claw attacks & i love the animation for pounce! i'll slot other stats to fill in any gaps when needed......hopefully lol.
Here it is: Build by championBuilder 0.4.1

Looks good to me. You can definitely drop the ranks on Enrage. With super INT and CON, you will have perma Enrage at level 40 at rank 1. Plus you have Frenzy to refresh Enrage. Interestingly I just started a bestial hero and I'm working on how it should play out. If it winds up being interesting I'll post it. Hopefully the pet changes will coincide with Leatherback hitting lvl 30 or so.
Hey Pulsewave, I've been really enjoying your build with my main a whole bunch. Next level I'm picking up Nanobot swarm, so I'm looking forward to Impact becoming soooper big with stacking mini-drives and enrages.
Quick question though. Last night I was on a mission in the sewers and I found that being mega big was definitely not an asset in there. However, Impact is built around being large and in charge so w/o him being ginormous and the benefits therein, things were much tougher. Is that just a caveat of this build, or is there a secret to getting around that issue?
By the way, I did end up making a simple macro to fire off enrage and mini-drive at the same time. Since I only use them in combat it's worked out well for me. I did notice though that you said putting enrage on 'auto' would be a good enough solution... how do you go about doing that?

What if you just don't use mini-drive there ? My might character till now has only growth from enrage, and with
that i don't see a problem in instanced missions.

That works but mini drive is a nice damage boost. Just add a keybind for /cc0 and you're all set.
Should it not only reduce the speed of the target ? I also read that it is maybe bugged, and when i tryed it
with my dualblade char, i didn't noticed any difference at all.

It has a significant damage bonus when you use Reciprocating Gizmo. Without Gizmo there's no damage bonus.
Had a bad experience last night with, Impact. I was able to successfully stack 3 mini drives using careful timing and nannites, and along with a couple of stacks of enrage I became truly gigantic... at which point the game made my avatar invisible.
I don't mean cloaked, I mean 'poof!' he was no longer there. I could still attack enemies, but for all they knew they were being beat on by a poltergeist. I couldn't interact with anything however, so I was stuck in the battle station until I logged off and logged back in.
Makes me sad because I was really enjoying the character and was working hard to hit 20 to get nannites so I could stack mini-drive. Now I guess I can't really do that. Anyone else have this problem?

I have it all the time. Moving your camera up and down helps reset things. Also go to your video settings and make sure you max camera distance is at the max so you can zoom out. This will still happen in lairs though which is why I usually save the triple growth stacks for my intial attack on mega D ^^

Just change your costume. I have a '/cc0' keybind to fix the undesired invisibility.
Wanted to make a Might character to try it and I found yet another great guide by Pulsewave (first char I made when I started playing this past weekend was a Powered Armor hero using his guide).
It just blows my mind how powerful might is after playing the very slow growing PA set to begin with. I'm already level 9 with it now and it's just crazy as hell.
One thing though, how would this build work without the giant growth part? I simply ask because I just can't see this character growing to enormouse size conceptually.

It's fine to drop Mini Drive. You can squeeze a little extra out of Enrage and Unstoppable with super STR too. I would also only take either Roomsweeper or Havoc Stomp and free up another power slot. That gives you two more powers to work with, and slightly better damage potential. But you'd be way less cool looking and your energy would drop faster.
Thanks Pulsewave for awesome guide. I came with this build based on yours, I put less emphasized on keeping minidrive and enrage up. I added the Tier 4 power, is it any good? I put the clobber adv to have a chance to refresh enrage, I wonder how it actually works.
I would also only take either Roomsweeper or Havoc Stomp and free up another power slot.
Take Havoc Stomp .. it just looks too cool when your a little bigger
Also its a circle AoE, so better chance to hit all mobs around you, and the knockback is not so annoying like
with roomsweeper
Thanks for this build. It is TONS of fun (pun intended) and I enjoy my might toon lots more than I already did. I even created a new costume just for this build.
I am using a build very similar to Genome just to play around since I have a couple retcons available. It is incredibly fun and allows Capt. Massive to live up to his name AND makes great use of that Hammer Bracers costume unlock. (They even have the same fist icon that was on his belt)
I have to ask though - why Retaliation over Force Shield/Sheathe? It seems the energy return makes Force Shield/Sheathe more advantageous, especially since this build focuses on CON/INT/STR and doesn't allow for much REC/END. Of course it costs that extra point, too.
Also, I have noticed without howl I have to add in some roomsweepers to maintain size in anything above a normal henchmen mob skirmish. Rebuffing is quick and easy and not bothersome, just an observation.
What about taking howl over Imbue? It would seem that you would only need Imbue against cosmics and legendaries (the only time I have used it so far as everything else just doesn't need it).
EDIT: I should add CM is only 32nd and doesn't have all the attacks etc. at rank 3 due to lack of Adv. Points also - if that makes a difference. Enrage and Aggression are only rank 2 currently.

Retaliation gives you a substantial damage bonus vs Force Shield. And there's no need for energy from Force Sheath. You should have plenty of energy as-is.
Howl is ok at lower levels but it's not needed at high levels. With super INT and CON, Enrage recharges before it expires.
If you're having issues with energy and Enrage maintenance I'd bet that you don't have super INT and CON.
At level 32 my CON is 154 and Intelligence 130 or so - both SS. I do run out of energy frequently, but that could be to the type of attacks I use. Do you have a recommended pattern?
I will usually buff aggressor and minidrive then mighty leap in to stun and then eliminate one henchman with a demolish tap, then I will havoc stomp or roomsweeper to build enrage. After that if they are still around (i.e. not squishy) then I will use demolish taps.
I attack weakest first to eliminate damage on me. I have not noticed my enrage renewing itself and I do shrink back to normal size after the 15 second duration is up each time. But I am not sure if 32 counts as "higher levels" in your definition.
I wondered about the damage bonus for retaliation and that does make it worthwhile for me since I am doing tanking mode and not all out offensive.
This is not by any means a complaint as he tackles foes several levels higher with relative ease, like that Canada mission "The Co-worker" where the shed is up on a hill by itself - he was 31 at the time. The mission is 29-30ish but the bigfoots guarding it (which summon 4 spectral wolf things each) are all 35th. No problem once I don't let them blindside me.
I currently only play in normal mode so my toon is doing beyond fine - was just curious. This still the most fun character I have to play right now.

Just curious if you had any luck with the Bestial version, Pulsewave? I have a couple of toons that I have in mind, one a giant ape - will be fun on Monster Island

That all sounds good. I never notice any issues with energy but I do use the energy builder. I run the Serpent Lantern on Very Hard with no problems.
You probably dont want to drop Imbue. It allows you to critical Heals as well, which really improves Resurgence. With Imbue plus the blocking bonus from Retaliation you can get over 5000 damage on a Demolish. It might go up to 7K or so, but it's been a while so I cant swear to it. It's the most damage I've seen in a balanced or defensive role though.

Thanks for a great thread!
This is what he looks like so far. I'm trying to maximize damage as much as possible. The next step is to figure out if I should take Unstoppable, Way of the Enlightened Warrior, or Aspect of the Infernal and Pestilence. Venomous Breath is ridiculously good, especially with Supernatural Power.
I leveled and reorganized his gear for CON 165, INT 140, STR 108 END 60 and it seems to be working. I use the energy builder a lot - the next two levels adding ranks will help a lot.
I did not know about critting Imbue - great idea!
I have been doing 4700+ on demolish with Imbue already. It is nice when the manimals swarm me for no reason and just want to waste my time.

Demolish is single target, so why not first using havoc stomp to kill the henchmen, and then use demolish
to kill the villains ?
Full charges havoc mostly kills them directly, at least with some enraged, else some i use maybe some taps
if i don't want the knockback.
I am on MI currently and the bird repulses get me initially. I can get a tap off before that when I initiate, but not a full charge of HS. By the time I land I am 50 feet away.
Not saying you aren't correct - just for these current monsters I get rid of one henchman right away because the timing works better. I do use HS taps once the repulses have had their fun.

Birds are annoying. Stun one with Mighty Leap and then tap Havoc Stomp several times. You'll knock up all enemies and kill the henchmen with 3-5 stomps. In general, charge Roomsweeper, tap Havoc Stomp.

Havok Stomp looks tremendous as a tap power, which is what I'm recommending.
Yeah .. thats the one reason for style .. but also i prefer a full circle AoE over a cone especially as melee,
because with cone you seldem hit all enemies. And the knockback on roomsweeper is also simply too annoying

IDK about the KB, when i hit something with Roomsweeper it either:
Goes flying and never gets up again
Stays put so i can beat on it some more
But seriously, as a "might" toon when are you ever fighting less than 5 guys?
And if you fight less than 5, they're either henchmen, or MV+'s
Backpedal a step, they close in a cone, charge Roomsweeper, it auto targets max. available foes...
...BAM!

My english is maybe too bad to follow you .. i also don't know what IDK means
For roomsweeper .. i just hated it when i started my first might toon in Canada, and all the mob flew 100 feet away
and then i had to wait for them to come back, or run to them but aggroing a bunch of others. I stopped the char
with lvl 12 i think, and later respeced another char at 17 to might with havoc, and never even thought about
taking roomsweeper again

No, it means with my might toon i "pull" more than my fair share
IDK = internet speak for "I Don't Know"
if anyones done T3 Zombie Apoc they may have encountered the Zombear, he's my growth addict with a similar build to the OPs except with STR/CON (str being stacked madly!) and using enrage and howl (both rank 3) for the permarage.

Roomsweeper won't knock back anything effected by another mez effect or knockback effect. It deals knock up instead. So you can combine Roomsweeper w Havoc Stomp or Hand Clap and prevent long knockback pretty easily.

I use Uppeprcut on a target if i KNOW it's going to take more than 1-shot (Roomsweeper) to eliminate
But that works too!
any suggestions for a power to take challenging strikes in for tanking? looks like I'm stuck with Shockwave, which really didn't impress me for damage compared to Havoc Stomp, but Havoc doesn't take challenging strikes.
Also, what kind of damage difference am I looking at if I SS CON/INT and gear STR as opposed to superstatting STR? I don't intend to ever take an offensive passive.

Hand Clap for challenging strike. You deal tons of damage with CON/INT. STR is not a necessary superstat.

Thanks for a great thread!

I did not know about critting Imbue - great idea!
I have been doing 4700+ on demolish with Imbue already. It is nice when the manimals swarm me for no reason and just want to waste my time.
Thanks again.
Demolish is single target, so why not first using havoc stomp to kill the henchmen, and then use demolish
to kill the villains ?
Full charges havoc mostly kills them directly, at least with some enraged, else some i use maybe some taps
if i don't want the knockback.
Not saying you aren't correct - just for these current monsters I get rid of one henchman right away because the timing works better. I do use HS taps once the repulses have had their fun.
For the birds i use shockwave
Birds are annoying. Stun one with Mighty Leap and then tap Havoc Stomp several times. You'll knock up all enemies and kill the henchmen with 3-5 stomps. In general, charge Roomsweeper, tap Havoc Stomp.
And i don't have roomsweeper .. but i think shockwave helps me more in some situations, since i prefer havoc
for melee AoE
Besides, Havoc Stomp looks silly
Now if it was the Tap Stomp power of CoX, now we are talking!
But seriously, as a "might" toon when are you ever fighting less than 5 guys?
And if you fight less than 5, they're either henchmen, or MV+'s
Backpedal a step, they close in a cone, charge Roomsweeper, it auto targets max. available foes...
...BAM!
Next mob
So that means you normally fight 5+ villains ?
My english is maybe too bad to follow you .. i also don't know what IDK means
For roomsweeper .. i just hated it when i started my first might toon in Canada, and all the mob flew 100 feet away
and then i had to wait for them to come back, or run to them but aggroing a bunch of others. I stopped the char
with lvl 12 i think, and later respeced another char at 17 to might with havoc, and never even thought about
taking roomsweeper again
IDK = internet speak for "I Don't Know"
the best for that
Roomsweeper won't knock back anything effected by another mez effect or knockback effect. It deals knock up instead. So you can combine Roomsweeper w Havoc Stomp or Hand Clap and prevent long knockback pretty easily.
But that works too!
Also, what kind of damage difference am I looking at if I SS CON/INT and gear STR as opposed to superstatting STR? I don't intend to ever take an offensive passive.
Hand Clap for challenging strike. You deal tons of damage with CON/INT. STR is not a necessary superstat.
