:: Spark is sitting in his room at Halcyon Academy, watching Star Trek: The Next Generation. It's the episode where Riker is granted the power of the Q, and Riker gives Wesley Crusher his fondest wish, turning wimpy Wesley into a powerful, muscled man. Spark looks down at his own physique, disappointed that his burgeoning superpowers haven't done much to change his own apparent physical wimpiness. What good is being Superman if I still look like Clark Kent all the time, he laments, before turning his attention back to Star Trek. ::

*A tall, dark haired young man in a striped blue polo shirt and jeans approached the group, his deep brown eyes observing thoughtfully, his charming smirk showing his light heart and his charismatic face giving off the appeal of movie stars.*

Maerik yanked up the bag on his shoulder. "Hey, sorry to interrupt but I'm supposed to see your headmaster I've got something for him." He asked, pushing his gaze around each of the young students in front of him, and pausing slightly on the cute blonde girl popping her gum, the corner of his mouth rising a little.

Rolls his eyes right back at Glamour, "Oh yeah, sure. They'll come to see you, but they'll stay to watch how awesome I am at House of the Dead!"

Maerik glanced at one of the speaking male students. "Oh..you have one here too." He sighed to no one in particular.

    Ahoy!

Maerik here from The Academy! *Sorry I'm taken already :)* I heard some rumblings about you guys and decided to hop on over for a visit. Granted, this isn't anything official but should our schools decide to form some kind of rivalry or coalition, this could be a pathway.

But your Halcyon Academy is much like our own, same themes, same light and murkyfree atmosphere so I'm sure we could do well together should it ever happen.

Anyway, just felt like stopping by and introducing myself. Hope you guys grow into something great.

((Oh, and you should totally give some character descriptions on your character bio's, I tried to research but found nothing i could describe =/, cept for Bubbles because she has a picture :) ))

*Glamour digs in her purse for a moment before coming up with a nail file and begins to file her perfectly manicured nails.I would show you around, but I have "no goth boys" clause in my contract. It's bad for my image.*Glances at her classmates and motions with her file.Impulse, you have no life or standards; why don't you take him to the headmaster's office?*Smiles and bats her long lashes at her biggest fan.It would mean alot to me.

(Ouch! Goth Boys? When Did I give off that impression? I think you may be confusing Maerik with Seven .)

Maerik stared in disbelief at the girl, shaking his head, she was exactly the kind of girl he used to date. He blinked at her and took a step away from her. "Uh..Goth Boys? Really?" He asked with an amused tone. He put his hand out to stop impulse. "Um, you know what? I think I can find him on my own thanks, feel free to continue worshiping No Brain Barbie over here." He shrugged his shoulders and back pedaled a few steps before turning and walking away.

(Hope that wasn't too harsh :P But Maerik has a strong distaste for Spoiled Air Headed Heiresses)

"I-uh...but um...wha..." Psilas can't seem to make up his mind about being offended or to do as the pretty girls asks him. In the end, he throws up his hands and sneaks off campus to go find an arcade, some nachos, and a slushie.

If you're searching for an SG to join, a place with fun rp and excellent writers, look no further than the Halcyon Academy! We're always interested in meeting new people who share our love for roleplaying and writing, people who want to have as much fun in CO as possible, with respect for all and appreciation for a less-serious style of play and the quirkiness of the IP. So, stop on by our forums, take a look around, perhaps visit our sister-guild Halcyon Epsilon Fleet with Star Trek Online, have a chat with us and see if HA might be the place for you!

We've had an influx of new members over the last few days. This is awesome!

However, almost all of them have been mentors! So I'm afraid we're having to put a temporary moratorium on accepting new adult characters into the SG until we get a bit more of a student body, otherwise the mentors will have noone to... well... mentor!

I hope this doesn't curtail anyone's interest. We're still actively recruiting, and with launch rapidly approaching, we're getting pretty jazzed to get in game and have some fun.

I'll also note, that once we're ready to re-open mentors to application, we will most likely first look at people that want to add a mentor alt to their existing student character. So if you're really dead-interested on going mentor with us, the best bet is to give the wild and wooly life of a student a try. :D

Psilas could never get tired of Glamour...except when she crushes his little heart by telling him that she's never heard of the original Donkey Kong! He's recently put up a promotional poster of her in his dorm room, all pink and frilly and girly and awesome. Poor kid.

Thanks to everyone that's kept this thread hoppin' while I've been down with the plague - especially our Academy buddies. :D

I wanted to chime in with the answer to a question I've gotten a couple of times recently: namely, what is Halcyon Academy's activity policy?

    Simply put: there isn't one.

We're more concerned that our players have fun when they're in-game with us than we are that they're in-game with us in the first place. If you need a week off from CO, or even just from your HA character, it's no problem at all! If you'll be scarce for a while, just let us know so we don't worry about you-the-player, and everything's fine in our book. We'll be waiting for you with open arms and more fun when you get back. :)

I was able to get into the game long enough to come up with an optional student uniform for use by members of the SG. Woot!

The specific materials you use (cloth, leather or metal) as well as the collar, boots, gloves and belt, I leave up to every individual. And if you want a cape, throw one on! This is just the barebones one. :)

Specific color selections and costume piece names are up over on our forum!

Hmm this sounds like exactly the kind of 'light-hearted' RP fun environment I'm looking for...

I am intrigued. Currently I'm deciding between here and the Academy for superpowered youths... hmmm

I have several characters in the works, but since I just got into the beta last night I still have much to learn within the game. Here are some characters I'm creating - though I don't know which one will be my main and thus, which one I would throw towards application to Halcyon Academ...

DARKON - Imagine a young superman that doesn't care to populate jails with sinister beings but would rather just get rid of the threat completely.

NOA - Force/Telekinesis based 'mutant' who is more or less just an average guy with superhuman talents.

DAEMON - He was a normal guy until he was abducted by a cult and infected by an ancient relic, transforming his blood with that of a specific type of demon. Why they did this to him? Why did they release him back into the world? What plans do they have for him? Unknown. All he knows is that sometimes, he slips into 'blackouts' and when he comes to, he's often covered in blood...

PROTOTYPE - A young man who wears an alien suit of armor given to him by a dying visitor from another planet who fled a species of intergalactic war mongerers intent on gaining the 'BioWeapon' for themselves.

SEBASTIEN - A vampire cusrsed with conscience that has been in slumber for so long, he's lost most of his abilities. Recently discovered by a group of scientists trying to create a miracle 'ETERNAL LIFE' drug, he was tortured and studied until his escape a few days ago. Now, the young man from another age struggles to understand what the world has become and attempts to fit in and find a home...

WILDARM - A gun tottin', wise-crackin' show off cowboy-wannabe bounty hunter with a tendancy for mischief. He drinks, flirts and gets in trouble. Hero? He's in it for the chicks!

    Thoughts?

Noa and Wildarm would probably fit in with us better than the others - we're shooting for a pretty light tone, by and large. That said, the Academy for Superpowered Youths are a cool bunch of guys, and we're hoping to do a lot of stuff together once the game goes live, so you'll be able to play with us a lot whichever group you choose for yourself! :)

    Hey Dart :)

Yeah I'm kind of leaning towards Noa, but like I said I haven't had much time with the game yet so I'm still kind of figuring things out and the character creation tool alone takes me quite a while to create something that I'm very happy with hehe... I'm totally considering this team though :)

Hey guys! I was just chiming in because this group really interests me. I am a current member of CO's other wonderful academy, The Academy of Super Powered Youths, but I am also interested in this group, because I have a character that might fit better in this group.

Enter Takeshi Nomoru! The reluctant star of the hit Tokyo crime drama, romantic super hero teen extravaganza. Though portrayed on TV as a charismatic super powered teen, he is really a shy, contemplative guy, who aspires to become a great martial arts master. He uses fighting claws as well as various forms of unarmed martial arts to help the world outside of his hit series.

Lt. Rio - I think Noa'd fit in well! By all means, swing by our forum, take a look around and read our theme and rules posts. If that all sounds good to you, drop in an application. We're pretty easy-going. :)

Kevdan - Aha, an Academy brother! Hello there! :D

Ha, Takeshi sounds fantastic. We have no problem taking in alts, so if you'd like to toss him our way, by all means, do so! We'd love to have you. :)

Yeah. i like Wildarm, too, though Noa sounds like the absolute easiest fit, especially if he's student-aged. The others are a little more difficult to wedge into our fun-loving theme.

I love this one, and you're welcome to come along. We don't insist on minimum levels of activity, so we're quite happy to have some people that are with us on their alts, no problem. That said, Takeshi sounds like he'd be a GREAT counterpoint to Glamour, one of our current members.
