No offense man, I dont find any reason arguing with them arguments...
Why would I take offense? It's just forum. Take care. Regards.
Edit : Tried going with regular lvl 60 Black Ice set. The damage was ok. Placed back on the rare LM set. The damage increase is substantial.
So, imho, LM set nerf didn't fix anything and CWs should try equipping Dread Ench.
griffon-artificers persuation-dread enchant . When they will fix-nerf lostmauth i will switch to valindra for the +2 int and +2 charisma is very good and recharge and damage and critical all for the dread:) . I hope they will fix my not wai forghammer of gond 45 sec is ok for me as the tooltip says( atm it reduces its cooldown depending on recharge speed i use it only pve never pvp till fix). ALL those + maybe 1-2 silveries level 12 on active companion will give me the desired recharge speed without arcane presence. I AM planning to play with swath of destruction and conflagration a renegade build with phantasmal destruction instead presence Feature.
Atm on live i am doing three things: debuff-buff for the team and very high encounters criticals and my stats are not as i want yet i have only 48% c rate need to change some artifacts and lacking some recovery and recharge speed which valindra will help here. i hope those ideas can help you create a decent allround mof renegade build that i am trying. ( note my thoughts focus to a wizard be good in pve and pvp).
p.s. that concept looks like gwf gameplay they buff-debuff and they just do att wills. so we buff debuff and we cast high severity encounters.

http://postimg.org/image/j2daucn2p/ there is a result renegade master of flame ( single target build) with dread enchantment. Last boss fulminorax. Note that is the last phase i was alone since 4 others died ( i even used a scroll life because you cant soulforge vs valindra grab).
I have played here for over 3 years and never has the CW been so weak a character than it is now. I'm lvl 70 and get killed without much effort while other lvl 70's can kill even dragons easily. What a disappointment wizards have become. Some anti wizard programmer really mess of the CW. We're truly lame, now.
...Then again, I can't really think of any ways you could give CWs any chance of having a fair chance of being competitive. What incentive do I have to spend any money building my CW up anymore? I have none. As it is, most of us are overspending just to get within a 10-20% range of a Puppet SW or GWF. With this patch, it looks like a 2.5k Puppet SW will out-DPS a 4.2k CW. Do you not see the problem with that?
We don't want to be support/buffers. The class wasn't designed that way and you shouldn't force us to go buff Renegade just to get a group...
Yikes! First off, can I have your purples?
On a serious note, since I started playing this game (dec 2014) I was never under the impression that Control Wizards were anything but that. A mage(typically a ranged toon that has many buffing/debuffing capabilities) that is more akin to a support class than a dps one. In my mind they were a fun mix of support and DPS and depending on your play style you could go either way. I see them as a ranged option to not only assist in group play but also able to solo content as need be. Maybe thats why i'm not too mad about this new nerf, nor do I agree w/ the quoted section above. I do not see a problem w/ a DPS class being able to out damage a hybrid support/dps class, not one bit. Maybe if they changed the stats calculated during the run you would be happier? I saw Ironzerg mention something like a count of the buff damage you provided + your actual damage.
I'm glad the game is getting back to a more even floor of DPS and from here maybe they will smooth out the class bugs a bit so that we can move forward with new content that has new gear, rather than constantly addressing issues with the old gear/content. Just my .02...
Never used elol set on cw. Been running with Valindra since they released art sets. For stats not the bonus. Ren/SS build (owlbear cub/translightning/abyss included). Doing just fine. So funny to see all this drama. I mean common the set wasn't meant for wizards in the first place, just look at the belt stats. Yet wizards are the ones who whine the most. As long as we still can have fun doing dungeons & stuff without jeopardizing it who cares. Some ppl think way too much about dmg output it seems. Forced to buffer/debuffer/support roles? HAMSTER! There is no content in game that cant be completed with heal + tank + 3 wizards as dps groups. And other classes will get there share of changes this is only the first wave.

You're missing the point. Today any content is easy enough to be completed with heal + tank + any 3 DPS (can be 3 x CW), but Cryptic are on a mission to make the content more challenging. When they achieve achieve challenging content, and the CW is the worst option for DPS, you will struggle for relevancy. When you realize that you can spend many many millions of AD less and get the same DPS result with any other DPS class at about 1000 less gear score, you'll understand that you built your CW at a time when it made sense, but creating a CW doesn't make sense anymore.
Cryptic is on the mission to apply more class balance too. We cant be sure no changes gonna come for other dps classes. Again its just a first wave

IF you think i will not take you because you are wizard i think you talk to 5 years old children................... I still cw even on my mof support renegade build the ability to jump on monsters and do some control + damage without they even scratch me vs a great weapon get heart attack to do the same without a tank;p AND control is still here i dont care if it is 1 or 1.5 sec vs the high resist i have spell twisting and recovery to able to cast my control powers the right time + the opressive to help me further. SO we have daze( opressive) stun( steal time) and icy terrain( freeze) is not only the freeze like some poeple posted.
I AM doing it effective without icy veins so you have and veins and you still complain you cant control ? then something is wrong with you.
just his lvl 70 and my friends paladin lvl 66 seems to do just around the same damage with more controll and full tank built even worse gear than me... Its just not cool!

Even now people have a hard time accepting parties with 3 CWs. For them that's unreasonable and a waste of time. Sad thing, really.
It then narrows down to a dungeon preference. An AoE CW in ELoL would under-perform.
