Time to write down my trait set-up, since they still haven't removed the trait unslotting feature from using new ships.
Hmmm, what if we got to play as the Captains of the ST TV series, without VO (so they don't have to worry about how much would be needed to fork out the clams to hire them)?
They would have to pay for their likenesses as well.
not really... they did it with the initial characters outside of Spock. they were just called the names but the likeness was not the same as the actors. however now, it looks like they can recycle old tv audio... /shrug
I have a feeling after todays patch we could have this..Because most of us have noticed the huge prepatch DL that happens???? So wondering what else is there in store..
I'm not so sure about being forced into the body of a lumbering NPC. What powers will she have? What loadout will the ship have? Will we be able to change it? Doubt it. But at least everything won't be slotted into the power tray, forcing me to trash three-fourths of it before trying to rearrange the rest.
Step Between Stars isn't so bad anymore, but at least we weren't forced into Tuvok's body for it.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.
That being said there are plenty of great characters that Cryptic has come up with that would be awesome to play as including the Enterprise, Bortas'qu, and Lesiet captains, That Jem 'Haddar guy who led the 2800 fleet, any of the three big Iconians, that guy who led the Vadwaur rebellion, a Voth seperatist, Taris, B'vat, Torg just to name a few.
Technically Tiaru Jarok(captain of the Leiset) IS a canon character, but (like D'tan) is such a minor character no one really remembers them.
Taris? she was actually the villain of the week in the episode where the Ent-D got diasabled by an Iconian virus!
Shouldn't we have patch notes? It's Thursday after all ...
This is the very reason I just visited this thread, to see if there was any more news and why there are no patch notes...
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

Supposedly, there are no patch notes because there is no patch. It's apparently just back end maintenance.
However, I just opened the launcher and downloaded a patch so either someone goofed and didn't post the patch notes or this patch is to fix something that was an exploit. Or something else entirely, who knows.
Oh yeah, not us.
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Captain Whiny Brat of the IKS Whineatyou', a great character?

> that guy who led the Vadwaur rebellion Okay, Eldex I would sincerely like to see again. (Especially because the throwaway line non-conclusion we got in "Dust to Dust" was lame.)

I'm not sure that counts. Tiaru Jarok's father is certainly canon (he's the Romulan defector in, well, TNG: "The Defector"), but Tiaru herself was only briefly mentioned and wasn't named. Cryptic borrowed the name from a short story in an anthology (Tales of the Dominion War IIRC), then ignored that she was only twelve years old in the story so they could have her be a Dominion War veteran.

Like I said, it's a technicality. She was mentioned to exist.
Assuming, first of all, that this isn't an April's fool joke because, well, it's not April the 1st yet... they'll want us to replay this episode and that likely means there will be a set.
Torpedoes are part of a set, Boffs are not. Unless they are going to do something completely new there as well and introduce three or four Boffs that give set bonuses on the ground when used in an away team
I think it is highly unlikely that they'll give Neth as a Boff. Even Nelen Exil appeared only in cut scenes, never in actual mission content.

Nelen is a Boff though...And it makes sense Neth could end up working for (the player), defecting to the alliance and everything. You're right though, that it's always been much more common to have some kind of set as a reward for featured episodes.
On a related note, did the episode begin today? Or perhaps it's this coming Tue, when I'm assuming 15.5 is dropping.

What I meant was that even Nelen Exil, who has his own story and is featured in the game (as opposed to the Breen and Jem'Hadar officers for example) was given to us because he has no appearance or role to play elsewhere, besides in those cutscenes.
Neth, on the other hand, does appear in actual mission content and is seen outside of just cutscenes. So it would be much stranger to have her as a Boff when she is also part of missions where you fight along side her.

The Reman, Breen Heirarchy, Jem'Hadar and Kobali are NPCs that join your crew through a mission, but have nothing directly to do with it. The Reman, Breen, Jem'Hadar and Heirarchy are recruited after their respective missions, and the Kobali is found in a maze but the NPC has nothing to do with the mission itself.
Nelen Exil fills out the role of someone filling in the details on the Voths motivations and goals, so in some part it helps you understand what the Voth were doing out here, even so the NPC has nothing to do with any missions.
others are acquired from faction hubs or gated behind certain mechanics.
I would not expect Neth to be a boff, but i would expect another random Tzenketh to given the nod as someone who wants to get away like Nelen did.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

I'm taking it this did not come out today, would have been nice to see a date for when this was coming instead of just the short nothing said but that it is coming blog.

I really miss City of Heroes and City of Villains. Way better than Champions Online.
I don't see the mission in the log either.

If that happened, that would rank so high up there, it would be a contender for the best content this game has seen since PWE took it over.
