That still doesn't answer the question of why you bought them if you thought they weren't worth the Dilithium.

If there were better weapons in the game then you should have bought those. If there weren't better weapons in the game then you surely made the judgement that the price was worth the extra power.

Boy am I glad I read this thread when I did. I just saved myself 50K Dil tomorrow on fleet weapons that I was going to buy, so I can wait for this to go live on Holodeck sometime soon and get the much better versions.

You know what'd be a good idea, and intercept a whole lot of shouting and anger from the player base?

Enable us to trade in our [dmg]x3[whatever] advanced fleet weapons for the upgraded models. Folks who just finished equipping their ship with advanced fleet [dmg]x3 are going to rage massively when better models show up for the same price they just paid for their first set.

I do *not* envy your customer service guys when that crapstorm unleashes :P

With the addition of all these new shiny weapons is there going to be any love for the Galor owners with new weapon types like DBBs or even a reduction in cost from 45k dilithium each

If you're upset about advanced fleet weapons, you're a horrible person and shouldn't play this game. We're talking about elite fleet weapons.

Not really, with all the shiny Andorian weapons and Fleet weapons it would be nice to have Spiral Wave Dual Beam Banks for example as the only Spirals are the Beams (and at 45k a piece), the Galor has been out quite a while and it seems that with all the new ships coming out each one has a new set of weapons + consoles + gimicks, just be nice if the Galor got something as everything else seems to things coming out of the wazoo.

    • Added an additional variant for Fleet Elite weapons to fleet stores.
      • This variant has [Acc]x2[Dmg] and the special Elite proc appropriate to the weapon type.
    • Added more Advanced Fleet weapons to the fleet store.
      • These Advanced Fleet weapons have [Dmg]x2 and [Acc]x2.

So you are giving PVPers their own weapons now?

Cool so as a PVEer can I get [Acc] [CrtX]x3?

So much pvp favoritism going on these days.

If Andorian ship owners can have their own exclusive weapons, can their be auxilary powered weapons exclusive for the Vesta, too?

We will be bringing the Tribble server down for maintenance to apply a new update.
    ST.25.20130128a.54

    General:
    • Added an additional variant for Fleet Elite weapons to fleet stores.
      • This variant has [Acc]x2[Dmg] and the special Elite proc appropriate to the weapon type.
    • Added more Advanced Fleet weapons to the fleet store.
      • These Advanced Fleet weapons have [Dmg]x2 and [Acc]x2.
      • All Directed Energy types are available.
      • In addition, Advanced Fleet Andorian Phasers are available.
        • These have identical stats to normal Advanced Fleet Phasers, but use the Andorian Phaser visual effects.
        • These weapons can only be purchased by players who own an Andorian Escort.
    • Fixed an issue that caused the Bridge Officer version of the Plasma Flamethrower's powers to still display on space maps
    • Existing Andorian Phaser weapons from the Dilithium Store have been renamed to "Prototype Andorian Phasers".
      • These prototype weapons now have the appropriate stats for Mk XI items.
      • This is a slight decrease from their current statistics.
      • This is retroactive for existing equipment.
      • These weapons can be traded in at the Ferengi Collector for the same amount of Refined Dilithium that the weapon initially cost to purchase.
    • Updated Andorian Phasers with appropriate stats for Mark XI are available on the Dilithium store.

Might we be getting a fix on both the standard and Fleet Aquarious Destroyer? As of now you can not edit no costume settings on either one. A fix would be greatly appreciated :)

I will offer some consolidation when PVP gets a new map, game mode, or que system change.

Is there any way Cryptic can issue fleet credit + dilithium + provision refunds for existing elite and advanced fleet weapons via prototype-exchanges with the DS9 Ferengi collector? If the answer is "no," then how about simply replacing all existing Elite and Advanced fleet weapons with the newer stats? Had the Elite [Acc]x2[Dmg] and Advanced [Acc]x2 [Dmg]x2 versions existed originally, no seasoned STO player would have chosen the inferior [Dmg]x2[Acc] or [Dmg]x3 variants to start with... The Elite [Acc]x2 [Dmg] and Advanced [Acc]x2 [Dmg]x2 would have been clear choices.

I just did the math, and based on current dilithium exchange rates, it will take me a very long time to recover the fleet credit, dilithium, and provision requirements to replace my existing Elite and Advanced space weapons with [Acc]x2[Dmg] variants. I'm also quite certain that there are a lot more players affected by this than the Andorian weapon stats SNAFU.

    Thank you for your time...

They are not changing current adv/elite fleet weapons, they are adding new versions in addition to current fleet weapons.

You will still be able to buy adv/elite fleet weapons in [Dmg]x3, so no refunds.....

Now that the elite weapons have modifiers that make them worth using, can we do something about how terribly unbalanced the modifiers are between factions?

These Advanced Fleet weapons have [Dmg]x2 and [Acc]x2.

Grr, just bought a new set of fleet weapons yesterday. Thanks though, I will buy the ACC x2 weapons too.

Will we ever see elite fleet weapons with an energy type other than phaser?

Once the new versions are introduced, no seasoned player will buy [Dmg]x3 over [Acc]x2 [Dmg]. This is why keeping the old [Dmg]x3 versions in the game doesn't make much sense either -- they are inferior in every possible scenario, so why would anyone want to buy them moving forward? It's like being given a choice between dog food vs. a steak the same price... which would you like to be served?

Only the ones with the andorian ship will be able to get the new fleet weapons though. So all of the "seasoned" players will need to buy at least one of the Andorian ships so that they can get the Andorian fleet weapons.

Incorrect. Re-read the part where Zero says "in addition".

That note is in the Andorian Phaser sub-section because it only applies to Andorian Phasers weapons. The Advanced and Elite Fleet weapons are covered first in their own section of the patch notes and have no Andorian Ship purchase requirements.

    ...<SNIP>...

The above may be true, but I am hoping that Cryptic extends the same courtesy given to Andorian phaser buyers towards advanced and elite fleet weapon customers, especially given the greater number of players affected and huge fleet credits + provisions + dilithium quantities involved. I'm hoping for good karma, nothing more...

The point of this is to say that the devs MUST know that [DMG] as a modifier is a throwaway trash modifier; using it buys them time to release weapons with meaningful modifier combinations.

I have basically ignored space fleet weapons (with *perhaps* the exception of Antiproton CritX) simply due to the fact that until [DMG] gets a meaningful buff, [Dmg]x3 = fail.

Just delete the DMGx3 weapons, or sell them considerably cheaper. Hear me now, believe us later; as soon as the ACCx2 weps come out, the sales of those will tank. End of story.
