I though a thread for discussing them would be cool.
First off hopefully they will come with a Bridge and Interior that feels Cardassian.
Secondly making them Intel ships with cloaking makes them feel very Obisidian Orderish.
By the way did anyone else notice that they didn't just have cloaks, they have Cardassian Cloaks, like most other ships that cloak don't have racially named cloaks, except the Romans and the Voth sort of.
Do you think it means there cloaking tech works differently from other cloaks? Even just a different visual?
Also like that they get a 3 ships that nicely fill multiple niches. Intel Science Dreadnaught is Science ship (not sure if there is a difference between Science Ships and Science Dreadnaughts), Intel Flight Deck Cruiser fills the cruiser niche, but in way that is different from the Valor and Keldon class cruisers, plus gives us a taste of a Cardassian Carrier might be like, and Intel Cardassian Escort gives us an idea of their offensive power.
Also looking at the ships designs does anyone else think that they are going to be able to swap parts in the ship customizer? Maybe with the Galor and Keldor as well.
Also I'm curious what traits, consoles, pets, heavy weapon, and secondary deflector these ships will come with and if they can equipt Galor and Keldor consoles and weapons.
Also the traits on the playable Cardassians look cool. I bet you can get Cardassians if you buy any Cardassian ship, even if it's just 1. I could be wrong.

Also I realized what the Cardassians ships prefix will be from Garaks ship admirality card.
C.U.V. i assume it stands for Cardassian Union Vessel.
Canonically the Keldon class had cloaks, only because the Obsidian Order and Tal Shiar were working together. But it seems the old Keldon class has been phased out of the new Cardassian union, left to collectors. I doubt any other Keldon class ships would have cloaks since the Romulan-Cardassian alliance was short lived and confined only to the intelligence units.

I asked our good ambassador in the official thread, but he hasn't had the time to respond yet (or has missed the post in the multitude of other posts), so I'll use this opportunity to ask once more - @ambassadorkael#6946 , can you inform us whether the new Cardassian ships have Cardassian bridges? Sorry if I'm annoying you with this.
I certainly hope so. Those few distinct details we have left and get from time to time to distinguish the technology and faction specific ships are very important for me in terms of getting a unique feel out of playing a certain profile. So, I'd very much appreciate for the Cardassian Cloak to be something different even if it means 'weaker' or just cosmetic in terms of visuals.
I hope they'll all come equipped with spiral-wave disruptors. That would add a nice bit of flavor to the uniqueness of these ships and Cardassians in general.
On another note, I love the designs. They look awesome! They remind me of Cryptic's design of Klingon ships and how they almost always nail it when it comes to Klingon design. Now that I see that repeating on the Cardassian ships and as a Cardassian fan and future Cardie player, it makes me immensely happy. The 3 new Cardasian ships are perfect, they just feel so right. And that Damar class looks sexy as hell, I doubt I'll ever step out of that one - gonna' have to dedicate one of my Cardassians to that ship entirely - I'm in love with it since I first laid my eyes on it.
I'll just buy Cardassian everything.
Cardassia first!!!
I am just sad that there won't be any old Cardassian uniforms to wear or the new npc one with the Union badge.
And no Cardassian ground weapons or rank system:
Gil
Glinn
Dalin
Dal
Gul
Jagul
Legate
or "Congratulations, [rank]!" messages.
"Congratulations, Gul! Oooh, these must be such exciting times for you. A new ship, a bigger crew, new assignments...but I am quite optimistic that you will rise to the challenge. And you really should go visit a tailor and make sure your uniform reflects your new, well earned, rank."

Cardassian names are easy. Just take known names and swap out a letter or two.
"Damar" becomes "Lakar" for example or "Dukat" becomes "Ramat."
well here are a hundred names from canon
http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Cardassians
In terms of storyline playing, I’m much more interested in playing Jem’hadar than a Cardie. Wouldn’t mind a Cardasian First Officer though.
I'm fairly certain we'll have the uniforms, either as an later "surprise" addition to the Gamma Pack or as an uniform option available for purchase via the C-Store. If not that, I'm 100% sure they'll come for 200 lobi in a upcoming lockbox. Selling the uniforms to Cardassian fans is a no-brainer and I think even Cryptic realizes that.
As for the rank system, yeah, it kinda bugs me as well, but I intend to put the preferred rank as a part of the name of my Cardassian characters, so that's kinda' a workaround at least. At this point, I'm taking it as it is and working with what they give me, before the Gamma Pack announcement, I wasn't sure we'll even have the option to fly proper Cardassian ships. Now that we do, next step is to see if we get Cardassian Boffs and to bug them for the uniforms. One step at a time, but at least I get to play a proper Cardassian in a Cardassian ship.
Thanks guys. Had a good hard look and found a few I like. Probably going to play around with the Gul surnames until I settle on one.
Does Gul "Zarel" sound alright? I thought about "Zarale". But remembered he was disgraced by being killed by a Bajoran farmer while being caught naked in a river bathing ... Just thinking of that makes me chuckle.

I like it.
Oh and the console is a spiral wave disurptor lance.
Imagine say the Damar/Ghemor/Dapata class ships with the Spiral Wave Disruptor Lance console, what ever consoles they come with and armed with Spiral Wave Disruptors (which I think look like phasers and even have the phaser proc so it will look like the show) and the Bioneural Warhead which is Cardassian technology after all. Oh and in the case of Damar and Ghemor class Cardassian fighter Hangar or maybe Hideki Frigate Hangar Bay. And a Cardassian style Heavy Weapon for the Dapata Intel Escort.
Btw does anyone else think all the playable Cardassian ships will be able to share parts if you own them?
I'm really looking forward to finding out these ship stats.

We saw this previously in Midnight, the Keldon-class C.U.V. Damar

Thanks. Its funny they have a Keldon Class ship called the Damar and a Damar Class ship now. Anyone else not surprised that the Cardassians wouldn't name a ship after Dukat hehehe, after all his evil.
Poor Dukat But remember "one man's villain is another man's hero".
Darhe'el should get one named after him for his accomplishments. After all his men "loved him for it."

I have washed my drool cup and put it in a place of readiness on my desk.
> I don't even need the stats, I'm just mesmerized at how beautiful they look and the quality of the design.
Yes they are pretty, but when we get the stats we will get to know if they can switch parts as I suspect, including maybe with the Galor and Kheldon if one has them.
Plus I want to know what kind of fighters it comes with and if the Hideki frigate will be an option as a Hangar Bay.
It would be an interesting area to explore as star trek online hasn't dealt with Corvettes in a true sense before. i mean there is the Orion and Risian corvettes, but they are classified as frigates.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
I second this motion!

So its basically a shuttle craft, maybe a big shuttle craft or heavy fighter in STO terms.
a very large shuttle, yes.

Although imo they are a bit too big. And not sure I like the lights on the last picture.
Think I prefer the red on DS9 cargo ship Groumall more.

Those bridges looked cool.

Memory Alpha suggests they were Patrol Ships, Fighters, and Shuttles, but STO has them as Frigates.
I'm really curious what they will do for Cardassian Hangar Pets.
Perhaps the pets will be Cardassian Pursuit Vessels.
