My launcher does a 0KB/5036KB with the patched being way less than the received AFTER I exit a game session and the launcher closes. BEFORE a session was 4713 MB patch, which is fully downloaded now. Trying to figure out the after now.

Yeahhh, this game has a 5000KB semi-patch before logging in at the mo and a post semi-patch of the 4713MB after I log off. Every time since the update. I'm just hoping it's resolved in time like many of the semi-patch/non-patch glitches that crop up in the game from time to time over the years.

Who knows, maybe it'll resolve with todays patch...

Yeah, it's working as intended. There's a lot of fixes in this patch, along with the new FE and re-engineering ability.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything. :D

Patcher is meant to use the files from the prepatch to save you from dowloading it all on patch day, it's never worked for me and always tries to download it all again on patch day, I watch my router and can see the data coming down.

I do however keep my tribble install up to date, as the patcher can see those files and transfers them across to my holodeck install, and I'm all patched and ready to go after only having to download 107 MB today.

    i did^^
but the biggest part in any game are always textures!
i don't believe, that the reengineering system needs a few gig new code lines

New ground weapons with new graphics, new emotes, new kit modules with new graphics, new space weapons with new graphics, 4 new ships with their textures, models, special animations (Like the spinning saucer section), regular animations, a new addition to the upgrading system, and a new mission that's one of the most advanced we've ever seen in the game, multiple weeks of bug fixes, some new imports to the foundry, and a few other things I don't think I have to mention.

You're welcome to go through the code yourself and figure out what it all is, if you must. Most of us already know, however.

2 patches it seems for me, a near enough to 9 GB one and a 7 and half one now. Guess the pre-patch didn't go through properly after all.

There is a lot more than 3 ships and some bug fixes in the patch. There is for instance the entire Reengineering system, plus a whole lot more. You should really read the patch notes.

    Where are the patch notes?

Edit - Never mind, I found 'em.

Launcher is saying 8.7 gigs for me which is pretty much the same as the prepatch.

Although that it the amount to be patched not downloaded, which is usually less.

As long as they don't do the usual shenanigans of 2-3 maintenances after I'm in with a chance of seeing whats what tomorrow for sure.

    From the patch notes...

"Weapons and Bridge Officer Powers no longer automatically slot onto a player’s power tray."

Well it's about damn time although will stuff like the fireworks still get slotted?

It's restarted twice for me. Each "patch" slightly smaller than the last. This latest iteration is going like lightning though.

Yeesh, the patch seems to be applying pretty slow. I started the launcher around 1.5 hours ago, and it's only at 47%. And yeah, I'd downloaded the pre-patch.

There must have been some tweaks, but patching straight after maintenance is always slow due to demand on the patch server.

I downloaded the entire pre-patch. I'm purely guessing here but it seems as though the pre-patch is downloaded, it obviously does not apply to the game files. Therefore, the patch files are sitting on my hard drive in limbo. So, when I use the launcher, my PC connects to the server to determine where the patch files should be applied. This is relatively quick compared to doing so WHILE downloading if I had started downloading everything right now. The reason that I know this is that the GB amount will not change for a couple of minutes before showing that 3 of the 8.7GB was patched in about 1 second.

So, while your launcher may say that 8.7GB needs to be patched, that DOES NOT mean that 8.7GB needs to be downloaded if you already downloaded it.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

    ...wow... downloadspeed down to 65kb/s!
sorry cryptic, but your infrastructure is kinda meh :/

all other clients like steam, battle.net, uplay, origin and so on gives more than 10mb/s speed!

It's patching sequentially for me. Each restart is downloading exactly from where it left off last time.

There's thousands of people downloading from the patch server and you expect it to handle 10Mb/s!?

i'm pretty sure that the other companies have more downloading customers at any given time, but they still can maintain good download speeds!

and my download speed for this patch is getting worse and worse^^
    i don't expect 10mb/s but 20-50kb/s just sucks :|

Not to mention that the patch is downloading super slow, about 1/2 of my uncapped 60Mb line which normally gets 69+. They need to give some meth to the hamsters.
