One fanon explanation for the class name Constitution is that it actually referred to the UFP charter (technically the Articles of Federation), but the admiralty already snagged the name Federation for the class of dreadnaught that bears the name, so they substituted the name of an older equivalent document from Earth. Of…
The problem is that the new designs are done exclusively for the visual 'cool factor' with no regard to the function of what they are placing or what the engineering reasons for the features on the original models was. Jefferies was an engineer and designed with an eye for those details, so a lot of the more 'modern' ship…
It is still better if they have a clear fire path straight to the target since they are not just dumped into space to accelerate totally on their own like the missiles in The Expanse, they are catapulted by presser beams according to both Roddenberry and Jefferies, so if the tubes are too far off target it would add a few…
True, especially for altaholics like me with over thirty characters and not a lot of uninterrupted time to cycle every one of them through in an orderly manner without missing any.
I've never used Tribble, but most games with a test server have a second icon and a separate line in the start menu (since the client files are different from the main game and installed in a different directory) for accessing that alternate server, if you don't have a desktop icon there may still be that separate entry in…
Cross faction uniform unlocks would be handy for some themes (even something as simple as Temporal recruits have the problem that none of the boffs from the main part of the game are TOS and so cannot wear TOS uniforms even if you have them unlocked), though the biggest problem isn't cross faction, it is the fact that…
Agents of Yesterday as it was originally introduced was really more of a backhanded compliment than a "love letter" because the devs did not do the scenario straight (in this case that fake rasterization to distance it from the mainline STO stuff), but instead doing something similar to the movie trend that was still…
The "alien" tab of the character generator is designed to do things like that, there is no reason for a proliferation of pre-made factions. The only thing along those lines that they really need is expanding the faction from Gamma with more than just Jem'Hadar so people who roleplay and/or do Space Barbie instead of just…
If they do introduce a new race, it shouldn't be Vorta because right now the lack of Vorta is the biggest thing dragging the Gamma Recruit and "Jem'Hadar" faction in general down. From what the devs have said in Ten Forward years ago when the problem was still being actively argued (it is on the gag order list now) it…
If there ever are people working in that section. It had no decks or anything besides the "apple core" running through the middle of the field bubble. My guess is that the scientists would be in that core section manipulating things from there.
The old forcefield bubble was a lot better than the silly glass sphere. The forcefield made some sense if they are doing experiments that could be dangerous because they could switch off the field, that is not possible with physical glass (or transparent aluminum, which is a kind of clear sapphire sheet).
Game-wise we probably would not find out for quite a while since the devs would probably want to wait and see if the series hinted at the end of PIC is picked up or not, and probably not even for the entire run of the series if it is, to see if the G gets wrecked at the end of it. Despite the declaration of separate…
T6 ships are (almost, there is/was one cstoreT4 that does it too though it stops at T4 if it is still available) unique in that they can be used at any level past the tutorial since they level-up with the character. If there is one that you like you can get it at any time and while not all of the weapon and console slots…
While looking at pictures to see what the Arc Royal class looked like I ran across one from a low angle, that is where I saw the upside-down "flight deck". Though they are probably just guide markings instead of anything like an actual landing spot for fighters, the idea that they may run some decks at reversed orientation…
I know what you mean, I used to spend a lot of time in Second Life mostly for the social interaction, which it had more of than most MMOs of the time, but even that has become fractured, polarized, and distant compared to what it was back in the mid-to-late aughts. It is often rather eerie going to places that used to be…
Yes, Intrepid was a most likely a connie, but there is no guarantee that it was built in Earth orbit. It could have been built by the Vulcans from standard Federation blueprints, or various members could contribute empty ships to Starfleet and the Vulcans ended up with the Intrepid, or any number of other possibilities…
It would be nice, and it would fit stylistically fairly well with the Typhoon. I especially like the upside-down flight deck on the underside of the aft spine.
I usually get oddball doffs like that off the exchange, but their availability at any given time varies wildly, especially if price is a limiting factor (which it usually is for me).
Yes, it would be really nice to be able to have the crew in the same uniform as the captain, even if the uniform is nonstandard. With all the alliances and whatnot nowadays is just makes sense to be able to put boffs in the right uniform. Even if mixing uniforms to show crew from several services working together as…
Enterprise B with Sulu would be a good option too, if they can get George Takei to do the voice work for it. TNG did hint plenty of times that almost nothing major like wars or the kind of "only one ship can save the Federation/quadrant/galaxy/whatever-ad-nauseum" stuff that the movies and DSC was so focused on happened.…
The devs have the perfect opportunity for a "have your cake and eat it too" situation right now if they don't wreck it with whatever the finale is for this multiverse arc. For example, they could add a new organization for crosstime situations, maybe some kind of guerilla cold war with some organization/empire/whatever, or…
That is only realistic for the portion of Starfleet that was directly inherited from UESPA, not the ships and crews from other member worlds, like USS Intrepid in The Immunity Syndrome. Dialog in TOS hinted that Starfleet at the time was not as homogeneous (at least out in the field) as it is in later times even before The…
That is if you can get Phantasy Star Online to run in the first place. I tried it a few years ago, made a character, and it crashed on loading the character into the game the first time. Of course, when restarted the game the character was gone so I redid it, and the exact same thing happened. I decided not to give it a…
I have not done many missions lately, not because of anything with the rewards, but rather that I get tired of getting dumped to the login screen on every map change on missions (for some reason TFOs are not as bad, though I do get dumped like that a time or two out of five).
I think what p331 is talking about is the fact that a recruit can only claim the rewards from their recruitment device, not both the device and the account-wide version of their type of recruitment. For instance, if all you have are Gamma Recruits then there is little or nothing one Gamma can claim from another Gamma's…
Grudge is a little on the large side for a female, but it is not too unusual for males to get close to, or (rarely) even exceed 30 pounds. They are often as big as small-to-medium dogs, and their big fluffy fur makes them look even bigger than they really are. I had one (a tom with red tabby markings) that was a fit 28…
I don't know about the patrols, but as far as I know of the cauldron room in the TFO isn't timed (I don't think any of the three are). What does happen in the TFO is that if you get in a group of high-DPS speedrunners they can get through their room and kill the witches in the witch room in a short period of time which…
