I don't like how I wasn't commanding my captain at some point. I mean, I'm dropping off security teams during Counterpoint. Then in Assault on Terok Nor, I am one of the security teams. Both missions end with the same Team Rocket blasting off again-style escape.

I have a serious quantum-relativity/space-time issue. So, I transport security teams from DS9 to Terock Nor during "Counterpoint", on my Romulan warbird. An early choice you can say to the Republic is "No, I don't want to join the military". Their response is a resounding "Well, too damn bad." Then you hit level 1 and the tutorial ends.

Both. My method no longer applies to current PVE. I tried upgrading my gear, but I still wasn't cutting it. So I made a beamboat, because I see them all the time and it 'works'.

That's a nice beamboat. My problem is I don't like playing like that. I enjoyed having the 360 turrets in the back, with two beams and a turret or torpedo in front. I *like* running a ship like that. I don't always make the best choices, so I threw all my specialization points into Commando. Is there a way to refund specialization points? Do respec tokens refund them?

I fly a carrier, and I used to be able to spam my attack button while my drone ships flew about and blew things up. Between 40-50, it was Move into range. Stop moving. Press spacebar to win. Repeat. My main gripe with Tovah is that he's in MY crew. Yet, if I'm wandering around Kobali Prime or Nimbus I can see him with another ship Captain. Its like he's cheating on me.
