Regarding the wall of text issue, it's something I'm conscious of. I've been guilty of closing dialogue boxes in Foundry missions just because there was soooo much reading involved, and a lot of times it's not really too interesting. As I said, there's a lot of dialogue in my story. I've tried to do three things to limit…
Thanks for the info guys. It's definitely the contact limit that's the problem. As you can see, this map would benefit from a lot more NPC activity - I assume there's absolutely no way around this at all?
Ah, thanks for that. This presents a similar problem though - I assume the map limit is still 10? To make the first complete part of my arc I would need 14...I'm very aware of the impact that a lot of loading screens would have on the enjoyment of the mission, but I'm hoping the story itself would keeps players hanging…
The hair thing isn't really an issue, I think that the Countdown comics showed that Nero's crew shaved off their hair and painted tattoos because of some mourning ritual or something. But yeah, no pointy ears is a deal breaker :P
That picture reminds me of Nero. He did say his wife was killed when Romulus went boom. Although if I remember correctly the planet went whoosh-kapow pretty quickly in the film so there would be no time for him to collect her body. Probably unrelated, but still...
The best way used to be to join the RED ALERT chat channel. People would report the sector and instance where a RA was occurring and you could just fly there. I haven't taken part in RA's for a while now though, so my info could be out of date.
Well, being in Europe, I'm aware of that ;) My point is, this event is live for two weeks. Why are you getting angry and demanding compensation for not being able to play for a tiny fraction of that time? Completely unreasonable. When people can't log in, they can't spend money, Therefore, Cryptic loses money every time…
If the maintenance lasted two weeks, you would have a point. If (as it obviously will) the maintenance lasts for only a few hours, well...why would they offer compensation because you couldn't log in for the first few hours of a 14 day event?
Maybe you could explain to people what constitutes "your" time and "their" time in a game that is live 24/7. You would have complained more had they specifically taken the launcher offline at any other time. Doing these tests during already scheduled downtime makes perfect sense. Oh, and because you put in the equivalent…
