I don't know about anyone else, but I have not been kicked off or had any other serious issues one single time since the last update. I almost don't know how to act! Great job guys!

I used to try to explain why the downtime occurs when it does, but I have recently ran out of crayons.

Not if you are a salaried employee! Only hourly employees usually get overtime, we get (if we are lucky) an extra day off sometime in the next year or so.

IMHO, if you are incapable of converting your local time from PDT by now, maybe you are better suited for Chutes and Ladders. Jus sayin... (My Saying "You" does not mean "you" specifically, it means "Any of you people out there".)

Mine was a TI-90 with a cassette drive that you could code games in BASIC. Took me 2 weeks to program a Donkey Kong-like game that had a Yeti rolling snowballs at you. Then I graduated to a Xerox 860 with a 10 inch (yes, TEN inch) floppy drive. No cane, no walker...yet!

I have to agree...the "Public Face" of a company HAS to be perfect at all times. I may not have fired the person, but they would definitely NOT remain in the position to embarrass the company again.

Umm... I hear you, I always do all my updating and system backups when I am "not at work". in order to have access to shut the system down for "maintenance", you must have an admin logged in (even if it is remotely). Unless PWE/Cryptic has that new telepathic server. And Why in the world would you do any kind of…

Me too. got to play for about 6 hours then .....WTF!! Server crash!! Oh wait, what was I thinking, this is normal! Just usually happens more often. I call it progress....of a sort.

I doubt there are all that many people out there that are FTP that NEVER buy anything from the C-store. I have spend many a real coin contributing to Cryptics bank accounts.

Kinda strange that it "Unexpectedly" went down right when normal weekly maintenance would be performed. Also, I thought that the Emergencyrepairs on Tuesday was gonna alleviate all the DC's and other failures?
