Yes I understand now. I was misled by the Article's background Story... I thought it could be another better Hybrid, between Escort and Cruiser...but a bit heavier... than the Chimera, which is actually a Hybrid. But it is a Cruiser...its just called a Battle Cruiser and Made to Look meaner..for kicks and giggles....and…
Yes indeed. Upon closer inspection, I think there is another weakness ... not enough Tactical Abilities...TAC BO is Lieut. Commander... no no no... That makes two sore points for me... I think I'll just keep commanding the Chimera.. and forget about getting any new ships... I quit this game twice because of frustrating…
Well... I hope it works out... At least it is an effort for a Fed Battle Cruiser, and descent attempt to have an offering for TAC Captains commanding Cruisers or ENG Captains wanting a bit more of a Punch. I just feel that the Chimera has a very good balance all around in that regard...now, sacrificing some maneuverability…
Thank you, yes, the Cloaking capability I just learned of, will it be a Battle Cloak? Or..something like Defiant/Gal x? It would assume with new Romulus developments etc, a Battle Cruiser could actually sport a Battle Cloak...
Yes there you are right, it maybe worth it with the new Command system. Albeit the enemies will have the same....still it it maybe worth it... I will strongly consider this, I like all other areas of the design, I just do not want to feel let down like other designs ... Because turn rate is very important in real combat…
Maybe that is the case, yet if this is supposed to be a "battle" Cruiser, a result of research and developments based on the conflict with various enemies.. Then it would be logical to evaluate the distinct disadvantage federation ships have in terms of maneuverability versus their opponents, and try to improve that area…
Oh thank you!! As I expected then, 5,3 weapon hardpoints, and good mixture of tactical/Engineering BO and Consoles. It has a good Hull Hit point Base (albeit this is the Fleet version) But the turn rate of 9, is too slow for me :( ...should be a 12 at least. I'll stay with the Chimera, thanks.
Aesthetically the ship looks and feels awesome. It is one I would get, but it will depend on the Stats really... I love the Vet Destroyer, and have been playing with it for more than a year now and none of the other ships I have can replace it... It matches my play style very much. As for the Avenger, all the talk about…
Ahh.. I see, ok thank you all that clarifies it. So F2P players are forced to buy a VA ship now. Thanks :) I have lifetime (more than 1000 days since I got it when the game first launched), that is probably why I got a VA ship when my Romulan char reached VA. As for 600 day, that does not count for F2P players right? They…
Thanks mate, Is it a Free Ship Token, or a Ship straight out? There is no mention of a Free ship in the log once the Promotion to vice admiral is resolved. And in Ship yard, my friend tells me, all ships cost Zen or fleet etc.. It is weird... I'll have them re-check ship by ship in the shipyard.
Wonderful! Good looking, but does it play well, remains to be seen. If it has a balanced BO Flexibility (Like it is not an Engineering Hub as I play TAC) and does not fly like a Tub (with like 4,5,6,7, turn rate, actually anything less than 10 is not fun), I will definitely get all three.
This thread reminds me all of the threads about the Galaxy's similar turn rate post original launch. I suggest that Vet players just help new players understand the system, and learn to use slower Tank Ships. "Elitist" comments l2p, get out of game etc etc, are really not required. I for one am happy to see a influx of…
I personally was surprised by the Choice at first. I was under the impression the Romulans were a full fledged 3rd Faction. And kept trying to queue for PvP and it would not work... lol But then, considering the story line and the Political setup I felt from a Storyline PoV it actually made sense. From a technical PoV it…
Simple really, it is called Min-Maxing ... used in every fantasy MMO, from EverQuest to WoW... Really no difference...do not let the fact that you are flying a Star Ship fool you, the game was not designed for Star Ship Combat...consider that you are playing an Orc or an Elf, in a Star Ship Costume and you will be more…
