  • I started having these issues around Midnight EST as well- launcher just searches and searches for the patch server. If it connects (usually after several minutes), it stalls out at the character loading screen. This morning I happened to see that Comcast had a fire in New York that burned through one of their core lines…
  • Compact is not a term that should apply to a carrier. Even without the launch catapult, modern carriers would be enormous due to the fighter compliment and the equipment necessary to maintain, repair and arm them.
  • Typically, that's how things work... you play, and as a result, you are around in game when events happen so you can get those things. Outside of a few reasons (like active military service), I have no sympathy for a non-active player missing out on in-game rewards when the game is F2P and costs nothing but logging in for…
  • I had been contemplating purchasing some Zen in the near future. Apparently, it would be more beneficial to my characters to not buy the Zen and take an extended break from the game.
  • Care to elaborate on how accounts were selected for this?
  • You do realize that you haven't been able to get bonus dilithium on mark/processors turn-ins for at least the past 2-3 Dilithium Bonus Weekends. That ship sailed a long time ago, and they have no interest in changing course.
  • While I applaud the effort to improve the perceived value in the lockboxes, whatever that improvement was evaporated quickly as I gained +25 Crafting Skill Catalysts. Those *never* should have been put in a lockbox to begin with, and would have been the first thing I yanked out to improve the perceived value of the lockbox.
  • Russel Crowe circa Gladiator for my main, and probably Michelle Forbes, less Ensign Ro and more Admiral Helena Cain for my female alts.
  • Technically, it was Pellaeon's ship. Thrawn chose it for his flag.
  • Not that I have a ton of the pearls lying around, but this doesn't strike me as a good idea. I sense a disturbance in the force...
  • What you really need are miniature giant space hamsters.
  • My Fed Delta recruit, Stay Puft, is lvl 19 and about to do the Doomsday mission. Ironically, he does like using the Proton weapon from the Devidian arc.
  • I'm having significant connection issues... timing out when trying to load characters. If I get to the character screen, it takes 15-30 secs to just get the character selected. Then it usually disconnects me as I try to load the character I select. If I make it into the actual game- every action, and I mean every, gives me…
  • That is not what he means. Reps traits were limited because a new lvl 50 would be at a disadvantage to a vet who had all the reps at T5- Cryptic told us that was bad for the game. The disparity the spec system introduced was far worse- a fresh-faced lvl 60 is a a much worse disadvantage compared to a full 30/15 vet. With…
  • Lol, that was also the first thing that popped into my head...
  • Apparently, running servers made of tribbles and used pinball machine parts isn't the best way to keep a game up and running.
  • My opinion: 1) Exploration- its a very 'Star Trek' thing and should be in the game in some way 2) More Missions- the most recent of these have been of very high quality (ignoring the DQ patrols). more would be welcome 3) Fleet Functionality- adding more options/ranks would be good, but you also need to better balance the…
  • This has been happening to me as well. I've filed a bug report on it, but in the interest of you tracking this down, I can with 100% certainty tell you that the 2 Mining missions from the Fleet Dilithium Mining Facility do this. If they fail, they do not ever show up in the completed assignments tab. This has happened on…
  • I really wish people would stop putting pure speculation like this out there without a single shred of evidence from the devs. All it does is get people riled up over nothing. There are plenty of things to break out the torches and pitchforks over in this game, we don't need to make up anymore reasons.
  • Taco, you could mail every single player $10, and there would be a vocal minority that would complain because it wasn't $20. Or because it wasn't Canadian dollars. Or that it wasn't Euros. While its not the first thing I'd do if I ran the game, it certainly isn't a bad thing and I look forward to seeing the results.
  • I was going to make a longer post about this, but I decided it wasn't worth it. These nerfs just serve to punish players for playing the queues that actually pop with frequency. They do nothing to make the unplayed queues more attractive or playable. I would like to play more than the 5-6 queues that reliably pop and can…
  • So your response to empty queues and the excessive XP grind is to: 1) Add HP to Adv. and Elite non-trash mobs, making them more tedious (whether due to a math error or not, that is about the worst way possible to make something more "difficult"). 2) Slightly increase mob XP, but still keeping it at a pittance compared to…
  • These are the only ones that I can get to pop within 2 mins of joining: Infected Space (Advanced): 30 sec to 1 min, before DR it was near instant Bug Hunt (Elite): 1-2 mins Everything else is going to be a 5+ min wait, if it pops at all. Since my time is valuable, I don't queue for anything that takes that long just to run…
  • Fun for whom? Certainly not for me when hit by one when I'm doing something else that doesn't involve you. Time for you to get used to the idea that forced emotes and reactions on other players' characters are getting significantly curbed or being made opt-out, not just in STO, but many other MMOs as well. I guess most…
  • While I'm a Tac/DPS-focused player, I agree with this 100%. I can't tell you how surprised I was to be in an Advanced queue and have a Sci captain constantly heal me. It made my job significantly easier and we had a very successful run as a result. It stinks that in most content in the game, his playstyle is significantly…
  • Wow, personal insult... you must be the most smartest and most popular person in your class... Better idea, why not actually try to give a rational and logical reason for exploiters not to be punished?
  • If someone unfairly lost their points, they should be restored, but 300 cheaters got their points back too. I have a major problem with that.
  • So those who took advantage of the XP loophole don't suffer any consequences, but those of us who DIDN'T take advantage of it are still hammered by the ridiculous XP earning rates? Well done! Apparently all exploiters have to do is whine loud enough and everything is ok here, nothing to see here, move along...
  • Now that irks me- I opened the mail on an alt that needed the token rather than my main, on which I try to get as many accolades as possible. If I had known they were going to hand out an accolade that was character specific, I would have done things differently.
  • Well, that's a bummer... I'm going to miss seeing his short, overly pudgy body stuffed into the Omega Harvester armor.
