I also run a beam Vesta with a sci captain (not A2B--not that it really matters) and I hope this gets fixed soon. I've taken about a 2k DPS haircut, and it negatively impacts special powers like the tier 4 Romulan reputation power (i.e. Sensor Targeting Assault).
