You have to download and install Champions Online and remove the channel from there.

I'm not sure but whatever you do, DO NOT join a channel called "trade" in STO. I did this and I could not remove myself from this channel (you thought esd zone chatting about politics was bad HA!). Cryptic REFUSES to fix this bug and the only workaround is to download Champions Online and remove yourself from the channel…
