Same issue but with AMD video card. I had to use the AMD control Center and set my 3D to best performance instead of quality and check use custom settings. I have to say...I love the sound effects for those phasers and have repeated the mission necassary to outfit my entire ship with them. I really hate to complain. I really do. I try to limit any negative comments to actual bugs (like not being able to get into thew gingerbread mission) but I have to agree that the one special event that you guys got right 100% and was enjoyable is totally not that this year. What happened?????

I can't even get in. I get 'Couldn't get map names from map manager' message and it ties everything up as it attempts to load several times and then I get booted back to ESD!:mad::(

The 'fix' for this lasted almost an hour for me but went right back to the issue I and everyone else has been experiencing. Graphics become so bad that I have to exit the game and restart in order to see what I am doing.
