Yes, you actually have to win the race to get the photos, and no you don't need frosted boots. A tip to the racers. Use the W,S,A,D keys and not the mouse. You can control your character better. And if you find yourself sliding off the track, double tap the movement key to roll back onto the track.
Sounds like a great idea! They could call it "WOW!" for Worlds Of Wonder. And people could wear armor and run around with weapons on their backs and... Wait...
And in honor of Thanksgiving, here's one of the most awesome comedy spots ever recorded: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf3mgmEdfwg "It gets pretty strange after that." :D
This is something that was bound to happen. Even before DR, the queues were starting to dry up. I mentioned this lack of players back then, only to be told "join a large fleet!" where apparently you could find enough members at the drop of a hat to form a team. Well, it's not just the casual players who are leaving, it's…
Back in the old days, it was possible to enter some STFs as a single player. I remember going into Starbase 24 alone to fight all the Klingons (and usually, with hit and run tactics) did pretty well. Also Terradome, where I would fight the USS Poseidon (the first super ship) alone. Fun times. Then they (I think it was…
One of the unfortunate side effects of "redoing" Sela is that the new version now appears in the Romulan mission "Turning Point" (where you pick your faction). I was running a new Romulan toon through the story arcs, and when Sela walked into the conference to confront D'tan, I just went "Whoah!" Apparently whatever…
Good thing I got all my MU runs done this morning! But this goes out to Trendy, because a little music helps pass the time! :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm-upHSP9KU Oingo Boingo for the win!
And in honor of those Yankee Traders, here's "Poor Honest Men" by Rudyard Kipling. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrdM9BlEyTE Being a smuggler is hard! :D
I agree, and I am amazed at the opinions expressed by some members. Putting a cap of 20K on the Exchange would merely destroy it. Members would just set up "Black Market Channels" to do their business. Cryptic would have to shut down all of those chat channels to try to control trade, which would drive it even further…
In 1961, FCC President Newton M. Minow described television as a "vast wasteland", devoid of intellectually stimulating entertainment for the public interest. My, what I wouldn't give for television programs that could be described as a "vast wasteland" instead of a "vacuum sucking the intelligence right out of your…
I've been here so long I remember being able to get into STFs "Solo". All you had to do was click the mission for it to start (before the "It was always meant for 5 man teams" nerf). Wow, it sure was fun back then...
Are we having fun yet? :D Which reminds me of a sign at a flight simulator: "Simulated Entertainment". Guess it's not real entertainment. Only simulated.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Your tips confirm the strategy I thought would work best, but getting people to team up in a PUG is the difficult part. I will just try to stick to someone as best I can, depending on whether I'm flying a cruiser or science vessel. :)
It's called "Decimation". Decimation (Latin: decimatio; decem = "ten") was a form of military discipline used by senior commanders in the Roman Army to punish units or large groups guilty of capital offenses such as mutiny or desertion. The word decimation is derived from Latin meaning "removal of a tenth". The procedure…
Centersolace, I think you've already made the correct decision. ;) But wait... getting advice on the forum is never a good idea? What sort of advice is that? :D
I have to concur. Since the patch today, Undine Infiltration Advanced is missing the "Set to Stun" and opening dialogue. The force field across the door is not there, and the mission starts as soon as you are in the transporter room. Go flag those Undine infiltrators, as there is an optional now and a time limit. Also,…
Will queues become more sparsely populated as people decide not to waste their time? It was hard enough getting one started previously. Now... *looks at the old enemy contacts in sector space* I wonder...
Well, they've certainly increased the difficulty level of "Elite" (now Advanced). Was this intentional, or did they accidently transfer the actual "Elite" settings into "Advanced". Knowing Cryptic, I wonder....
The difficulty of elite STFs is more complicated than having the best gear and knowing what strategy to use. If the STF is scripted, then eventually people will figure out what the best strategy is to beat it. That's not strategy, that learning to run a maze. OTOH, the difficulty of ESTFs will be that fewer and fewer…
Hmmm. It's not about "Learn to Play" so much as "Run Through This Maze Until You Can Do it Blindfolded". Even rats and mice can beat an STF if they just do it enough. Let's face it, these new "Elite Super-Duper, Really Difficult Content" STFs will be rolled once people learn the routine. If you really want challenging…
