Same here. Checked to ensure everything is up to date for my system, force verified, updated Steam and tried to log in from there, submitted crash/bug reports to support, made sure Arc was up to date, uninstalling and reinstalling via both clients, etc, etc, Same result. Still crashing at the title screen (with the magic…
The problem still persists on my end. I've covered all the bells and whistles, and still no joy. I've pretty much just thrown in the towel at this point and moved on.
Cryptic's customer service is not the best. But the people working CS do try for the most part. However, they are just as clueless as we are concerning technical issues. The best they can do is pass on your problem to the right people. Unfortunately, the "right people" haven't so much as, at the very least, acknowledged…
It's not just Alienware that the problem affects. I'm using an ACER laptop, which had only minimum issues prior to the offending patch(s). It's now the third of December. No fix. Not even so much an acknowledgement that there is a problem. After nearly seven years, I think maybe it's time that I move on from STO.
Oh, and I forgot to add this is all after downloading the normal weekly patch yesterday, and today's maintenance. I hadn't played in over a week and a half. Tonight was my first attempt to log in since then.
Same here. "We're sorry! Something has gone wrong." "Crash processing complete." "You may close this window at any time" "Incident I.D. for Customer Service at support.arcgames.com. e153b" "Cryptic" logo There is a green box/button on the pop-up window containing a Starfleet logo surrounded by an arrowed circle, that…
Not exactly the same issue, but I make it to the loading screen with the Star Trek Online:Awaking logo. Then it takes forever, as usual. Then I get a pop up window with the following: "We're sorry! Something has gone wrong." "Crash processing complete. You may close this window at anytime" "Incident I.D. for Customer…
I know what was in the verdict. And I disagree with much of the judge's rationale in his verdict. Judges are not infallible. They have a bad habit making craptastic rulings, especially in IP or copyright lawsuits (science fiction in particular). And those judges were often once lawyers that specialized in copyright and IP…
And I disagree with part of what he come up with in his posted opinion. Some of what he posted is reaching, others is pretty spot on (although it misses the point).
There is a big difference between coincidental similarities and universal science fiction concepts, and enough similarities that are damn near dead ringers to raise some suspicions. This isn't a case like that of Games Workshop trying to copyright "Space Marines" and "Imperial Guard", both generic science fiction concepts…
If it was just one or two, and taken individually on a case by case basis, you would be correct. But all of the similarities taken as a whole, and compared, I disagree. There was enough there for a valid complaint.
Anybody who says that the developer didn't have a leg to stand on are either in need of a trip to VisionWorks for new glasses, haven't bothered to follow the case/find out the relevant information, or is a rabid Discovery fanboi. There was more to the lawsuit than somebody trying to "copyright tardigrades". In fact, there…
Good? Wrong. It would be far worse than it is now. Anybody who has had to fight the SSA, VA, Medicare, and Medicaid (all government programs) can attest to. Canada's healthcare system isn't all sunshine and rainbows like the shills claim it is. And don't get me started on the U.K.'s NHS. The biggest problem on the private…
My issue with this is the "update" to how the buyout option is handled. It defeats the purpose of the buyout (to have to play an event as little as possible; 4 runs tops under the previous system). Now, the less of the event you want to play, the more you pay. It's ridiculous, in my opinion. Who the hell is going to pay…
That's because the Romulans made themselves known by blowing Earth outposts straight to hell. And it was explained in "Balance or Terror" why nobody knew what the Romulans looked like prior to that incident. The reasons had nothing to do with "being classified". Finally, if you think Voyager was worse than Discovery, I…
I had just tried logging in for the first time today. So, the problem struck some time before my login attempts. I didn't think it was the patch itself. Either it's server related or one or more of this week's "fixes" broke something else in the process. Either way, it would be nice if Cryptic could jump on this fairly…
