Yeah, good idea. Tell you what, why don't we petition to have every forum thread locked so only the Moderators can post? There is a locked thread already that defines what maintenance is taking place including, when available, patch notes. If you don't like forum threads then why not try this ingenious idea --- get off the…
No Child Left behind is American. Whinge is British and Australian. Oh, and Google is your friend. Whinging is complaining -- just like whining. Whinging isn't bad spelling.
I've lost all interest in Bug Thursday. They are 'fixing' things that should have been implemented in a working condition via the Test Server (where they should have been tested to ensure their workability) and, therefore, are so new they shouldn't even be broken yet and they are leaving things that have been broken since…
Having read the patch notes for tomorrows maintenance I am happy to see that this issue appears to have been resolved. My fingers are crossed that we will be bug free for the coming week, at the very least. It would make a nice change :)
I don't believe they are trying to fix it yet. My guess is that they won't do anything until tomorrows maintenance regardless of how upset, or even angry, they are making their players. I can't believe that, if they really wanted to, they haven't been able to fix it in almost a week. Perhaps players who haven't received…
Umm, where else would you like me to complain? Incidentally, the fix that worked for you has already been posted in this thread so repeating it is, in your words, kinda pointless. As for the 'disclaimer' -- well, that is a signature. It is an attempt at humor. You do understand humor, I trust? Whether you do or not, I…
Not everyone can afford to buy a small ship/shuttle and nor should they. There should be no need to pay money to assign BOff's. This is another way for Cryptic to line their coffers with our cash. The longer they leave the bug in place the more people will buy unnecessary ships to help assign their BOff's.
That is no help at all for people who are not in a Fleet so it is not a sure fire fix, just a possible fix for members of Fleets and, perhaps, their invited friends. And can you tell me where this Dev notice is, please? I certainly haven't seen one but then, I may be looking in all the wrong places.
I never really believed in coincidences but, coincidentally, this bug came about when the Anniversary Even was extended and the Temporal Ambassador mission was updated. That means that, in order to get their pound of flesh, the Devs will not even attempt to fix this bug until after the end of the Anniversary Event which, I…
This is only one of many possible solutions. It isn't a guaranteed workaround by any means. A number of workable, for some, solutions are embedded in this thread. It is a matter of searching for one that may, hopefully, help the individual. I had several ships that had no BOff's assigned and no two ships were resolved in…
This is correct. Out of curiosity I created a couple of new (temporary) 'toons. With one I was able to assign the BOff when I warped to the area where the two probes needed to be destroyed, the part immediately before beaming down to Vega. I assigned the BOff immediately on warping. With the second I was unable to assign…
Uhh, yes, I for one do expect them to drag people in over the weekend to fix this. I paid to play the game but I am unable to play with one 'toon because I can't assign BOff's. Thus I am unable to effectively level that 'toon. I know of people with only one 'toon who can't assign BOff's and the game is unplayable for them.…
Well now, I still had four 'toons that I had been unable to assign BOff's with. With two of them I beamed to my ship and entered Sector space, then I changed instance and boarded my Bridge ... that way I was able to assign BOff's to two of my 'toons. This didn't work for three and four so, with three, after the Bridge…
This seems to be a reasonably effective workaround. The only flaw with it is that you need to have a shuttle or a ship with a uni slot. Low level players, especially those who are not able to, or are unwilling to, spend money in the game, are unlikely to have a shuttle. So for those players, and for brand new players…
You know, the fact that this bug is still active after more than 48 hours is annoying enough. Actually, it is more than annoying for some players who are unable to assign BOff's no matter what they try. But what is really annoying is that nobody can be bothered to keep us updated. Are they trying to fix it? Or maybe, given…
Well, as far as I know, this particular bug didn't appear until right after yesterday's maintenance. That was when: 1. The Anniversary event was, for no apparent reason, extended, and 2. The criteria for the Temporal Ambassador mission was changed. I state those two events in particular as, on my 'toons, the problem was…
I see the bug is still here and, therefore, the game that I pay to play is still virtually unplayable. I don't want to, nor should I have to, start a mission every time I want to assign a BOff. I don't belong to a Fleet and have no intention of joining one in the near future (nor should I have to) and even if I was in one…
This is beyond a joke. Any new players starting after the Maintenance and finding they can't assign their one measly BOff to its station will more than likely have left the game wondering at the insanity of it all. It's been almost 8 hours now, the bug should have been fixed -- but I still can't assign my BOff's. Can…
OK, I already posted in another thread. Now I'll post in this one. Changing ships didn't help, changing zones didn't help, relogging didn't help, restarting the game didn't help. I know that getting annoyed won't help, either ... but I am getting annoyed. Addendum: I entered memory Alpha System and was able to assign all…
Unfortunately, zoning didn't work for me. I have changed ships, swapped out characters, relogged, restarted, beamed up and down, changed instances, flown from sector to sector, transwarped -- nothing helped. This is now an unplayable game for that character which is annoying as I am a subscriber and I can't do what I have…
Damn it! As soon as I left the Shipyard the BOff's were no longer in their stations. This is ridiculous and needs fixing. I sure wasted money buying into this game given that I can't play it until someone actually reads this post and fixes the issue! So, once again, the BOff stations are broken!! P.S. It seems that the in…
OK, weirdly enough I had to relog which let me set one BOff, then I had to relog again for the second, again for the third, etc. Once all the BOff's were allocated I was able to change them without the need of any relogs. I don't know if it was just some crazy glitch but I only had one ship that didn't have any BOff's in…
I said this in an earlier post just after the problems started and I guess I'll have to repeat it. Why should I have to alter my settings and detract from my gameplay just to satisfy a bunch of morons who can't control a childish urge to swamp the game with idiotic balloons. My graphics are set to normal gameplay and that…
This is not a realistic fix. As was mentioned earlier by another poster, this is a workaround and one that should have been developed into a fix within the last three years. To have to decrease settings that work perfectly well without the griefers causing their havoc is detracting from gameplay. Those balloon guns should…
Well, until the dev's see sense and 'fix' the balloon griefers I am not spending any more real money in this game. I can bet that none of the ***** will be taking time off from filling the place with balloon's to spend money so a stupid decision to create an unsociable 'sociable' toy will cost Cryptic some real income.…
This is an attitude that your parents should have beaten out of you when you were a cub. Listen, rich boy, not all of us can afford $2400 machines. Most of us struggle to get what we have. As somebody else said in an earlier post, why should those of us who have issues with you idiots have to amend our settings, settings…
Well, excuse me. I didn't realise you were an expert. But server not responding happens regularly but I guess that doesn't require a responding server, either?
A very high demand? If there is a very high demand then there should be a very high number of servers to accomodate that very high demand, surely? As it is, I am still 1275 but now there are 9774 waiting to log in -- I haven't moved up in the queue yet and I am LTS. LTS and Gold members have paid to play and we can't…
Yeah, it's not funny. It's going from the ridiculous to the sublime. I was already ingame. I opened the forums to make a bug report and returned to find I had been d/c'd and I am now 1275/6866. LTS doesn't mean a damned thing, I guess. They really ought to make sure they have enough servers, especially when they are having…
