Scheduled Maintenance (February 28, 2013)

Hi Captains,

We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, February 28th, at 7AM PST (click here to view in your timezone) for maintenance and to apply a new patch. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to only last for 2 hours. The test server may also be unavailable during this time.

    why does it take you so late in the day to post this? Do you not know until you are about to walk out the door for the day what you are going to patch the next day?

    Phaser Dispersal Array:
    Increased the damage of the Overload attack.
    Decreased the charge up time from 4 seconds to 2 seconds.
    This no longer shares a category cooldown with Cannon: Rapid Fire or Cannon: Scatter Volley.
    This now has a 30 second shared cooldown with the Tachyon Blast from the Tachyon Induction Relay console.

    Considering that devs work on fixes and updates all day, no they don't until the patch is finalized and set to update in the morning, usually shortly before the end of the working day.

    what game are you talking about? Wait wait your right they must be working on fixes all day up until its time to go home thats why theres still bugs from years ago, they are still working on them every minute up until its time to leave, my bad (sarcasm)

    I knew I did the right thing holding on to those in the bank. :cool:

    As for how good they are, that's another question.

    If you've played the game more than 2 months you know Thursday = patch day. There's really no reason you need to know what's in it 5 minutes before it's released let alone 12 hours.

    If you require updates sooner than that, work your wrist really hard and scroll down to the tribble subsection.

    wasnt being a troll just asking them how come they dont know what patch they are doing till they are about to walk out the door, its a honest question to ask. i didnt say anything about needing to know the minute they walk through the door in the morning.

    Because if they had actually finished the patch, it'd be out earlier, and you'd still be asking this question when the patch came out on Wednesday instead. Since they do not finish the patch until it's actually out, you get fragmentary updates of the stuff they actually have done on Tribble, and everything else at the last minute.

    Why don't you go apply for a job at Cryptic to fix all these bugs, then?

    i still don't see where Andorian ships are worth the Zen cost....everything about them is Still broken..i would love to buy the 3 pack....but will not waste Zen on them at this point...Cryptic....bad patches and " fixes" for these bad ship designs really need to be addressed....just my 2 EC's worth of thoughts...so just put out all the bad patches you want...i won't spend any Zen on these ships at this point.....work it out already lol



    oh and yes.... i am sure you can see how much Zen i have spent on this game by my @handle name....get a clue already

    If you are interested enough, these changes were actually anounced for the Tribble server several days ago. So it's not quite the "last minute thing" it seems to you. Sometimes you just have to serach the forums thoroughly in order to find some information.

    Server maintenance. Database backup, clear memory, hard drive maintenance.....

    Don't you do maintenance on your computer?

    I've lost all interest in Bug Thursday. They are 'fixing' things that should have been implemented in a working condition via the Test Server (where they should have been tested to ensure their workability) and, therefore, are so new they shouldn't even be broken yet and they are leaving things that have been broken since time immemorial, and should have already been fixed but haven't, to just gather dust.

    If they fixed the game so that it worked properly then nobody would actually know how to play it. Still, there is little fear of that.

    Exciting, isn't it?

    Whelp, gonna have to get a new tac kit for muh cat then. No use having lunge and pounce if they share cooldown time.

    On patch day it would be awesome if the daily news story would be posted during the patch.

    They share cooldown, but you can still fire it off twice as fast as a not-kitty. It's the same as running two copies of Cannon Rapid Fire or Tactical Team.

    The following has been added to today's patch notes:
    General:

    • PvP Queue updates:
      • Private PVP Challenge matches that use settings below the default settings will no longer count towards PVP daily mission objectives.
      • The Challenge UI has been updated to display a warning to this effect when players use settings below the defaults
    • Activating Tactical Initiative Ground will no longer allow you to infinitely re-use the Ophidian Cane without a timer.

    Not deliberately I assure you. But you have to admit, the amount of fixes in recent months for the new ships seems to be rather higher than the amount of fixes for old bugs.

    all the update is is making the drones fire a bit faster and a few other things besides that the ship is good I got mine yesterday after a week of grinding for zen I found no problem with them and the patch is just going to make them better

    You do know that most, if not all, of the patches are the same ones they give us for the Tribble Patch a couple days prior to Thursdays patch, right?
