So they won't be supporting Windows 7 (which even Microsoft don't support), and you'll have to upgrade to access the game. Not a ban.

Windows 7 is not being banned - again you are misusing langue to try and make something out of nothing. Windows 7 support will be discontinued as of Feb 2022. Even Microsoft has stopped support for Windows 7 - they haven't banned it, they have stopped supporting it. There is a distinction.

You're trying to inflame a situation that doesn't need it. No one is being banned from the game. If they use a supported OS they will have no issues. It was a massive mistake to equate "discontinued support" with "banning."

If you used Windows 10, you would know you can turn all of that off. They offer you the choice to do that, and have done so for a number of years now. Windows 11 offers the same thing. You can opt in or out of it. But as I've said before: if you want to continue to use a depreciated OS, that's your choice.

The big problem is not that TMP 2.0 isn't compliant on every machine - just that it needs to be switched on. You can do that through the BIOS.

Rubbish! My PC is six years old and will run it fine (does run it fine). TMP chips are not that new, they've been around for a while. Even if you don't meet the min requirements for 11, it's not like Win 10 is going to stop next month. You've got a few years left to use it before MS stop supporting it.

Exactly. MS dialled back on being aggressive with updates. The experience I've had with Windows 11 (beta) is even better. But it depends on what settings you choose. Good grief. Windows 7 was de-supported by Microsoft over two years ago. If you're still using it... Good grief, your laptop/PC is open to all sorts of abuse. No sympathy for those that refuse to move forward and embrace the future. Progress is not made by standing still.

That's semantics, unlike the Romulans and the Jemhadar you have to choose a faction to be a part of. Starfleet 2250 & 2260 offers no choice. You are Starfleet, and remain Starfleet, timeskip not withstanding.
