Well, not completely obsolete, but it all depends on your priorities. This will be expensive for a while as everyone loves cooldown reductions for the extra cheese.

Well, searched my logs on my first main. Got that one 8/17/2012. So it did work, at one point. Granted, I had to play that mission with a science and engineer player back then to get the non-tactical ones.

PvP used to be still fun about 6 years ago. Back then, even with some of the crazy consoles around, it wasn't all DPS and one hit kills. I wish the space abilities worked as well as they used to 5 years ago, but back then they heavily nerfed space science to the ground while rewarding the DPS hungry crowd with one shot kills.

The 30 second mandatory "timeouts" are the most annoying thing of modern PvE queues. Why ruin an old one with this junk?

Leave it alone. It's the one yearly event that takes me at the most 3 minutes to do. On the flip side, I'd love for the Summer or anniversary ones to be quicker. Oh yes, still around sometimes.

If I had gotten the Humble Bundle, I would have used Spock. Sadly, I didn't. Unless the devs ever give people the chance again to own those, it's 23c boffs for me.

Hey, they also seem to have scalsd NPC resists from 400% to 800% thus finally killing off power drain builds. They really went all out throwing bugs into the game this month. Have just been made aware of the Bajoran Deflector +80 and Saboteur 2-piece for +20. Time to grind to achieve perfection. Max has moved up to about 883.5 then.

An update to this very old post. The new max DrainX until the expansion drops using a Fleet T6 Nebula is 861. Now you can add the Lukari beam/torpedo 2 piece for +20 DrainX. Missing one 23rd century science boff below

A chance not to have to grind 15 days this particular event. I'll take it. Out of the 3 (Summer and Winter being the other 2), it's the most annoying. A good chunk of people aren't surprised, and I'll leave it at that.

I actually liked the hourly events and have always hated the weekend ones because it's exactly the time I can't participate.

So ignore the accolade system and bribe players to play content that will most likely result in obtaining accolades anyway. #facepalm Would have been better off making an "accolade" points based reputation to unlock goodies.
