I'm going to second this idea...honestly it seems like a silly thing for them to control the prefixes because it doesn't affect your game play experience at all. (At least I don't think it does). That would open up the door for people creating their own designators that are fleet specific or something to that effect.

The system names being chopped off are an unfortunate by-product of the design we went for with each map....but that can be easily corrected after we dive back in after the sector map updates. And your suggestion about changing the missions to be faction specific is definitely something I will be adding in future versions.…
