OP chiming in. This is not a topic about whether or not AFK is allowed or not. Cryptic's passiveness on AFK already tells us it is allowed, or even encouraged (to increase challenge?) I'm trying to see if there's interest in buying something to help deal with it. Thanks anyway.

Well, this turned out not to be true. My first full day of Gold has come and gone - no 500 point STO stipend. In addition, no skill respect token. And finally, no additional inventory space on 2nd character. Wow, just wow.

My issue is not that I went over to Neverwinter and tried to use my STO 500 point stipend. The issue is straightforward: I subscribed to STO Gold and have yet to see my STO 500 stipend. Thank you for trying to help here.

Thank you for the suggestion; I acknowledge you're trying to help. In fact, I had finished the tutorial, and did not get the extra inventory slots. I have not checked the bank, but I would guess I did not get those either.

Sorry - I wasn't clear. I do see the "500 points" feature listed on the gold membership listing on the website, as you describe. I cannot figure out how to redeem it - that is, to have it available to me to spend - so it doesn't exist, in my point of view. Please don't tell me in need to wait until the first month ends...

What 500 point stipend? Saw your note - went back in game and on the store web site - saw no sign of a 500 point anything. I have unsubscribed - would have stayed subscribed if there was something in return, anything. Very strange business model. I'm a customer with money and Cryptic cannot put on something for me to buy.

Thanks for all the insights and suggestions. The "ban" went away eventually. I had left the mission and instance "gracefully" -- that is, following the prompts from NPCs. I did not leave prematurely. I've played dozens of MMOs going all the way back to Asheron's Call. Never been banned in all that time.

Could not agree more. Playing a Romulan has been a horrible mistaken and a huge waste of time - because of this quest and this particular step. You stand no chance - your allies are either destroyed or in a constant state of repair - if you engage, you're immediately wiped out. If you try to range, the quest spawn endless…
