right, it's ambiguous the way it's written. It definitely looks like gear will not be auto-updated to UR, but I'm not sure if it'll apply to all characters. Certainly, this would be worth it if all characters got UR stuff. If not, then I might not play AoY

I believe fewer people update it, but I still do. You could also update it yourself, as Zero is still active in adding editors

This didn't work for me. I also tried equipping it while on the ground. Both times, it says "datachips do not belong in [device] slot". I have confirmed that I do not have the accolade for the chips in question.

You can't do "Alpha" alone as Rom-KDF. You must team with a non-Rom KDF (doesn't have to be delta) who shares the mission with you. When playing, don't interact with anything, just kill.
