I've asked in zone chat in Fed Academy but did not get a response. Can somebody please verify if datachips for uncompleted Path to 2409 and History of New Romulus are not working as intended?
None of my characters today were able to read any after this patch. So when I got to my Delta, I decided to check against his Accolades list and noticed that most of today's chips that were not working are not marked as completed. Unfortunately, a forum search did not find anything from today nor did a look through today's bug reports.
Thanks.
Update: I've been able to use datachips (both 2409 and New Romulus) while in the New Romulus adventure zone. I've not tested with all of my characters yet nor have I tested all zones, but so far this has worked with the characters that have tried it here.
The datachips also appear to work if slotted into the skill tray and activated from there.
Same situation here. Have a bunch of them and none are working. Tried on multiple toons and checked to ensure I had not already earned accolade. Probably caused by Season 10 launch.
Datachips are most definitely not working. This has made me quite irritated as I have had a system to transfer unused chips between my characters to try and complete the accolades and then sell or discard the unused chips. now I have to hold on to chips and check EVERY SINGLE ONE or risk losing one of the ones which is harder to get by accidentally discarding it.
You know, like my daughter did with several of them already and is rather upset.
Seriously, is anyone there familiar with programming or is it just a million monkeys on a million keyboards? How do you TRIBBLE up a system which theoretically you shouldn't have needed to even touch?
A dev had already confirmed the bug in another thread on this issue.
Workaround: with the data chip in your inventory, press the 'P' button (or click the button on the right side of your skill tray) to open the available skills window. Find your data chip and drag it from the window to your skill tray. Then just click it on your skill tray.
I had the same issue with a Tal'shiar command code I got from a lock box. No use option in right click menu and double clicking it in my inventory just gave me a message that I can't equip that item. I was able to activate it from my skill tray after adding it there.
Same issue. My workaround was to go to a space map, where the datachip then showed up in my power tray to use.

This didn't work for me. I also tried equipping it while on the ground. Both times, it says "datachips do not belong in [device] slot". I have confirmed that I do not have the accolade for the chips in question.
