It's a real issue when you see players bragging in chat channels about how much they AFK in events. I check the ID of everyone in an event group. There's just too many ships. And most are essentially repeats of older ships w/ a bit of power-creep sprinkled on top. When a properly geared T5 can 'do it all' its hard to get excited about a new ship, barring it looking cool. Has anyone quantified how much better a Tac is really? +2%? +15%? +25%? The only difference anymore is the actual captain powers. Skill trees & trait slots are universal. Sure if you want the best dps, Tac will rule, but if you just care about obliterating things fast, any profession can do that in STO nowadays.

Today I grabbed that dread core in my Caitian Shikaris Escort and with evasive maneuvers and the Competitive Impulse Engine I just sped to the Doomsday Machine and dropped that core right in front of it's mouth. My main issue with missing omnis for some types is more the visual FX. Just give us a slot right under the Shield Visual to slot a weapon that makes all our energy weapons match. I dislike having 7 of 8 weapons match and then this one oddball pew pewing. :D

If you can get on the Tribble server, Drozana vendor sells free upgrade items. You can upgrade stuff to Epic 15 and test them out there to your heart's content.

I can't fault Cryptic since the official Trek people keep dredging it up... My gripe is I'm tired of the Mirror Universe. Played it for the first time today. It's average, but then considering the idea of the TFO, not sure what they could do to make it better. I appreciate a TFO that's not just "KILL STUFF!!" but for what we're doing, it does seem a bit long. And I assume it's a no-fail on a timer so you just do stuff and wait for it to end.…

The -40 power is a bit much for the singularity powers you get in exchange. My Romulan is an engineer so I skill up in +power part of the trees. If I was Cryptic I'd maybe give that -40 a second look and either buff the singularity powers or lower it power loss to -20.

Cryptic only yanks down the servers if there's a bug that HELPS players. There are plenty of bugs that hurt players they never bother to fix. :D

I assume this is related to people like me who can't get my alt toons to load. They are still there on the list, I just can't get them to load.

I don't have an burning desire to use my X upgrade atm. So I'll just save it. Maybe if I get around to buying the Legendary Pack, I'll use that on one of the Enterprises. At least that way all my alts will get use of it. I'm not gonna waste it on a one-off Lockbox ship that only 1 of my characters has access to.

Being a Lifer helped me I guess, I was 3 of 600 when I first got the window. Got in on my main toon, but can't even get my alts to load up on the Character Select screen.

Yup, I'll get that sometimes. Occasionally , you can change characters and it will work. ATM, I can't even load up an alt toon to try that.

Just wait, next year they'll let the upgrade tokens add a weapon slot, extra hanger or an Experimental Weapon! ;) My Romulan is still waiting for the Scimitar to have fifty-two disruptor banks and twenty-seven photon torpedo launchers. :D

Interesting. This mean T7 is in the future? And can we stack these on one ship? If I have 3 can I get 2 extra consoles and a ship trait? I was excited at first, but then I remembered about the AI and decided to not get them. I guess they're OK on my Discoprise, but seeing how I didn't give up any weapon slots to get 2 hangers its not as critical as it is on the carriers that only have 6 weapons and nothing else to make up for poor pet performance.

Competitive Impulse Engines help too. I use the Engineering one and just pop A2SI every 15 seconds.
