I played wow for over a decade, I was there when it was called Warcraft. By the time they reached BC, 10 hours of down time would result in a free day of game time. Also, we got little things like new places to explore, a true open world game and loads of updates. Seldom did a real patch only address a few items.

I miss the Original (hard as can be) STFs. They required extreme team work and more importantly, time wasn't as much of a factor as making sure you did everything perfectly right. YTes, they were long and if scaled up to the standards of the weapons and skills we have now, I doubt a third of the player base could run them…

I would call this a broken and terrible system then. With what I hav read you are saying that the whole R & D system is so bad you shouldn't even worry about leveling any of it past level 5 then.
