So much to sell, no buyers; breakdown equipment

I think there should be a breakdown for resources mechanic for all this TRIBBLE no one buys that I wind up dumping on NPCs.

Maybe introduce new DOFFs with a specific skill in salvaging equipment parts.

Having the ability to salvage parts from equipment has been requested many, many, many, many times. It is an ability I myself would absolutely love.

However, from a programming stand point, it is a whole lot of work for basically no return. I seriously doubt if adding that to the game would bring in very many new players, or bring back very many former players, adding nothing to the bottom line, which is showing a profit. From that standpoint, paying developers to add that ability rather than working on something that might bring in more money is bad business sense.

Next, being able to salvage needed R&D materials from all the vendor trash would (probably greatly) reduce demand for the R&D packs available in the C-store, meaning that not only would adding that feature to the game not bring in any more money, it would actually result in a drop in sales of existing products.

Basically from a business standpoint, what you are asking for (and me, and many, many others) translates to this....

Hey cryptic, would please pay your developers to program some free stuff for everyone so they can quit spending money on your game ?
    LTS and loving it.

or require lots of salvage to lower slightly the time to make an item.

This continues to be the excuse. I wonder how long, if ever, people in this community will realize that the most successful MMORPGs are the ones that tend to have some remote level of polish?

It's the random Stats that Cryptic put into the game (Chance). Blizzard also tried to go down that road and lost enough players that year they quickly reworked the system to remove it. It's sad to know that what was a good crafting system here has been destoyed.

Let's say they cannot allow us to claim mats from the junk we are forced to make juat to finally get an item we like enough to use, then they should either stop the random stats and set a base value on all R&D items (I mean, why would I want an EPG stat on a MK IV Positronic Deflector in the first place?) or reopen Memory Alpha and allow us to return to the old system. The easiest fix would be a simple one, allow us to remove a stat from an item we crafted and upgrade another item by placing that stat onto it. They broke a system and have no plans to repair it as far as I can see. After all, they are in it for the money as any of us would be and R&D packs are something they sell to make money.

I don't figure Cryptic reads many posts anymore as with so many other games, they choose to use different forms of media rather than this one. Sadly, I would rather sit in a bed of fire ants than craft anything on this game. They made the grind way to long and the results to small and the random chance finishes off what was already a broken and bad system. Just look at the exchange, when there are 400 MK II Deflectors on there, you know something is wrong.
