  • Actually, instead of scaling it up, I'd love it if Cryptic designed a 'rack' or something like that for the Plekkies that gets displayed when you have them equipped. Basically, they're mounted on a rack or rail system along the giant nacelle, and visually displayed when not launched, followed by shooting them out into…
  • Cryptic, What are you doing? Cryptic, STAHP. Bad, BAD CRYPTIC! This move is counterproductive to any hope of continuing to have a stable player base!
  • And an Ambassador can be far more survivable while maintaining a more consistent high DPS. And the Guardian blows both away by being able to do both ship's schticks at the same time.
  • The Oddy is best only at being a giant waste of space. I'd throw a Guardian and a Fleet Ambassador up there before I throw an Oddy.
  • That's a glitch, the excelsior neck is supposed to be dark in-game. Also, I'm noticing that the Guardian fires from the wrong spots in its aft arc. There are three obvious phaser strips on the stern and sides of each nacelle, but instead aft fire comes from just above the shuttle bay or at the base of the engineering hull,…
  • Agreed. I was expecting it to be the hero ship of the Delta Quad after seeing its stats, and it has not disappointed me yet. It has exactly the right notes to counter all the major threats in the DQ, and so far it has served me excellently though I've only just gotten her. I have my new waifu-ship.
  • Must be a bug on your end, because mine has all the stations its supposed to have. Cmdr Engi, Lt. Cmdr. Tac/Sci, etc, etc...
  • Fleet RCS consoles with armor, Hull HP, and other bonuses, the temporal console, high engine power (hit 75%) with AEGIS engines/Omega Engines, aux to inertial dampeners. Pain. Suffering. Lots of 'splodiness on the part of the enemy.
  • After time play-testing the new expansion, I have to say that the Guardian will be EXTREMELY useful out there. Its officer compliment is exactly what is needed to survive some of the new threats, and yes, it could use a little extra speed. But against the storyline big bad forces, it has exactly the right officers in…
  • *Sigh* Cryptic, you need borg hamsters. Go get with CCP, get them to show you how to build a proper server, then get back to us.
  • I've never really had a whole lot of alts. I have a klingon and a romulan, but I don't really play either much. *shrugs*
  • Agreed. As I've said elsewhere, with one minor tweak (option for nacelles raised above the saucer line) it would be the perfect successor to the lineage of the connies, and would shut me up forever because I would never, ever leave it. It just needs that one last tweak (that theoretically wouldn't be THAT hard, since they…
  • I am impressed. It's like cryptic has secret mind-reading technology and sucked almost the EXACT look I was hoping for from a 25th century cruiser/ambassador refit out of my head and made it exist. The only quibbles I have would be if it doesn't have a high nacelle option and if it doesn't have the option for a traditional…
  • If it has an optional over-saucer option for those pylons, I will completely take it over my Brassie Bassie. I've found my new cruiser all the same, though.
  • Mechanically? Excelsior is fine. Visually? Go home, grandma, you're drunk. No, really, the original hull has no place in 2410, though the outline of the class needs to stay. Visually, we already have most of the components we would need for a 2410 version. Yoink the nacelles off of the Regent (possibly a modified version…
  • The Fleet Ambassador is the more flexible ship, yes. But, a Fleet Dread is basically a better artillery ship. For an STF, a Dread specced up properly can pretty much murderize anything in ways that are probably banned by the Geneva Convention and Kithomer Accords. With the saucer seperated, it is basically a far tougher…
  • Well, now it's down to 6k dilithium. Still not... optimal, but it certainly has a chance of being viable, if expensive. Certainly better deals than before on the dilithium store.
  • I do have to agree that Risa needs it's own duty officer missions, in two variants: First is the year-round variant. Just standard stuff, like planetary maintenance and assistance. Fun little quirky things like the dyson sphere doff missions. The second would be the summer event missions (only available during the events).…
  • Honestly, Risa is pretty freaking fun if you're not trying to hyper-grind it like some are. Yes, it needs a lot of work, but for the most part it works nicely and is generally relaxing. Mind you, there is the little problem that it becomes completely deserted after the event. Which is a real shame, and I'd like to see some…
  • Except, no it isn't. By the devs own words, it was meant to be a Science/Cruiser HYBRID. Both, not 'neither' as it is now. It doesn't have enough science boff slots to properly high-level science shenanigans. It has a Science Cmdr. and an engineering lt. Cmdr. Slot. It can't cruiser FAW shenanigans because it doesn't have…
  • Except no, the whole point is to bring a sub par ship (the Nebula VA) back to match the rest of the ships. They want to try and claim it's a hybrid science/cruiser vessel? Then its time to finish making it so and bring it back to spec. A science vessel that can do cruiser-ey things almost on par with cruisers. Which means…
  • Hence my suggestion of 'give it a cruiser's weapon's load, boost the hull a teensy bit'. The idea of the Nebula in the show was 'slightly cut down Galaxy that turned into the new Miranda'. Its biggest letdown is the weaponry. And as cryptic at least once was willing to put more weapons slots on (galaxy dread), why not ask…
  • I agree. As said, the boff layout is fine. A meaner support cruiser in terms of boff abilities (grav well 3, TBR 3, etc) It's the kinetics that let it down the most. It doesn't have the weapons slots to go cruiserish, and its speed and turn rate prevent it from going full science vessel. Change one or the other, and it…
  • Yeah, the new and surprisingly improved Dreadnaught has pried me out of my Brassie 'Bassie, and likely for good. I don't want a lt. Cmdr. Tac boff, that's just insane. But a universal lt. Would make this ship the best tactical fed cruiser when you have the full progression of the galaxy class behind it. Well done, Cryptic.…
  • Having tried the fleet version last night, despite the somewhat lackluster tactical abilities I am suitably impressed. 'Dread Not' certainly fits the ship. You can't spike like an Avenger or Regent, but you can out-grind either. Essentially, the changes have turned this ship into what might become the king of PvE with a…
  • I'd have to say: Yes, yes it is worth it. I was pleasantly shocked at how well the ship works when I got it, between the team changes, the hanger with scorpions, and saucer seperation. Even seperated, I still had more hull than an Excelsior or Avenger, and once I respected slightly, I was able to go toe to toe with a gate…
  • Would it be possible to make variants on the 3rd nacelle so that you can have a galaxy nacelle with the venture neck and a venture nacelle with a galaxy neck? Or also a weapons pod in place of the 3rd nacelle to retain the profile while giving the ship a logical place for dual cannons when separated?
  • Additionally: For anti-structure and relatively fixed targets like in STF'S and the Crystalline Catastrophe, the Elite Scorpion plasma firehouse is best, and for anti-mob work, go with Elite Widows.
  • Agreed. 16.3 connected, 27.6 seperated. Helluva boost. That being said, it seems that they intend it to be a team tank/aggro puller. Except they need to give it a better ability to pull and HOLD aggro from NPC's AND players. Otherwise, it'll never work. It needs an actual targeting override ability (since it can take it…
  • Judging from the changes to the teams, they mean for the Dreadnaught to be a PvE aggro ship against large singular targets. So, you'd be looking at Aux2Batting the heck out of CRF1, with as much threat+ as you can manage in order to draw fire off of Avengers and other squishies to you, who would have RSP3 and Eng Team 3/1…
