I'd still rather they just did away with the freaking outfit segregation. Which, as I will keep saying forever and every, they already have the code for. They just won't implement it player side.
You know, this might actually appeal to me. See, I could get down wih the idea of a short match against another player. But PVP is not, in fact, a 'short match against another player', but rather a long, drawn out grind to get the best equipment and figure out the absolute best build and make sure that all your numbers are…
Then perhaps not as many people want PVP as one might immediately consider? I mean, I'd actually be totally and 100% down for the PVP/PVE stats on equipment. I think that would be a *great* way to keep both sides balanced. But if they did that in CoH, and the PVP in CoH stayed dead... ...well...
Thanks! I did try to make it obvious that I fully understand the power dynamic here. That being 'you really are offering some things I want, and I can get them for free as long as I devote the time to it'. It just feels like the amount of time vs. what you can get for that time feels less enticing than other situations…
So that takes away one of the things I was going to say in my article. Thanks for giving me that. No, seriously. I really do enjoy this game, and if I'm gonna complain, I want to complain about things that are *actually* a problem. I mean, the fact that the outfits aren't a bit better put together is sad, but they didn't…
I know. I wrote an article about it for Geekparty, and made sure to post up screenshots. So the proof is saved for posterity, on a video game journalism website, where anyone and everyone who's googling for information about STO can find it. Because I'm only asking one thing here, and I don't think it's so much to ask.…
The uniform/off-duty thing wouldn't upset me so much if I didn't have proof positive that the code already exists to allow outfit desegregation. So it's not even that they'd have to do anything new. Just implement the code player side.
Yup. I make absolutely no qualms about the fact that I'm in this game for RP, and even I never wanted to go to Risa. There was just nothing there. This new Risa? I can totally see my characters going *there*. There's stuff to explore, places to lounge, etc.
I just want to state, for the record and forever, that the environment is genuinely, awesomely fantastic. If the summer event had been nothing more than "Here, have a new Risa map and some jetpacks to fly around in it", I would have been sincerely satisfied with it. There is no part of me that doesn't pray to every God…
Fair. It's just that...well, I'll zip it. I'm writing a geekparty article on my opinions on the summer event, so I don't want to give too much away. That said, I do genuinely love the new Risa map, and I sincerely hope it's the new permanent map.
Some of us enjoy this game for RP reasons, and thus enjoy being able to have a variety of 'off-duty' outfits. Since the off-duty clothing options are pathetic at best, that leaves us with re-coloring uniform options. But of course, that leaves us with a majority of clothing that count as uniforms (which, let's be honest,…
On the other hand, our toons are objects. Like, literally. They are objects for our amusement. That really is their entire purpose. They do not have feelings, emotions, opinions, or desires. We, the players, are the people who have those. Thus, I really feel that the only way to de facto objectify a gender, in terms of the…
That actually doesn't bother me overly much. I mean, they want you to play the game to win the prizes. They offer you the *option* of buying your way to the prizes, but it'll cost ya. That said, it really does feel like anything worth having in the summer event is way too expensive to be worth trying to earn. Unless you…
I'll try again, then. Objectificaton is not a good argument for the having/not having of any particular outfit. The reason being, objectification is not about what one is wearing, but rather, what role one is forced in to. The female open jackets, for example, are objectifying not because they show cleavage, but because…
I think there should have been more conservative options. I've got a character who would have totally worn a full swimming dress. But OOPS! I can't do that, because even the 'formal' clothing options show stupid amounts of skin. I would have given my left maple nut for nothing more than having the shorts not be off-duty…
I would not so much mind the lack of swimsuit, because I can understand why they made that decision. But why enforce the 'off-duty' clothing? http://geekparty.com/legacy-of-romulus-more-like-legacy-of-outfitus/ They don't have to. The code exists. They just won't implement it playside.
If CBS won't let us have swimsuits, so be it. But could they maybe desegregate the outfits already? http://geekparty.com/legacy-of-romulus-more-like-legacy-of-outfitus/ The code is already there and they just won't implement it. It's pretty freaking annoying. If I could at least use the beachcomber shorts with any uniform…
All I wanted was a swimsuit. Barring that, all I wanted was clothing I could actually use with other clothing. And, as I've stated multiple times (and will keep banging the drum until I am forced to stop)... ...http://geekparty.com/legacy-of-romulus-more-like-legacy-of-outfitus/ The code is already there, they just won't…
http://geekparty.com/legacy-of-romulus-more-like-legacy-of-outfitus/ And don't forget! The option totally exists, and they could totally implement it player-side because it's already in the coding!
Yeah, absolutely! Like I said, I got a lifetime subscription, and heck, I write abo the game pretty constantly for Geekparty. Even when I was still doing FTP, I gladly slapped down 20 bucks so I could get the Tac Retro. Why? Because I wanted to blow up borg with the mother ****in' Defiant, that's why. And no, the Tac…
Not that rare. I work 57 hours a week, but I generally can play when I want. Does the current server downtime suck? Sure. Will it be up tomorrow if I want to play? Most likely.
Because I hate having my fun dictated by my ability to dominate another person who's also trying to have fun. I hate having my fun be dictated by trying to find the perfect combination of skills and items that will allow me to be able to dominate another person. I don't like sports, either, for the exact same reason. I…
Don't pay attention to the forums. For some strange reason, these forums are a hotbed of people wanting to kvetch and yell about every tiny nitpick. Don't let my latest GP article linked in my signature turn you away, either. It's the last in a series lead up (though totally go there and read all my STO articles :P) The…
And naturally, since you like PVP most, that's what has the most potential for having fun. I, meanwhile, hate PVP with the fiery passion of a thousand suns, have never once engaged in it, and yet have enough fun to have purchased an LTS. So where does that leave us?
