This seems to be resolved now. But I don't know what did it. It just started working out of the blue. I never saw it as something said to have been fixed though. Sometimes the registry does not display on the ship screen at random. That small issue affects for both of my toons. I can live with that though.
I had one last night. Infected space elite. We all warped in and killed the Tact cube with little trouble. At that point I'm thinking it was going great and the rest will go smoothly as all successful runs start out that way for me (I can usually tell if it's going to be bad if it takes forever to kill the cube). I was…
Thanks, I will try that out. I haven't been able to log in to double check for the last few days since I don't have my laptop with me and am away from home (can't even log in to STO Gateway) but I think I may be using Tetraburnium Hull Armor in two slots right now. I should have enough EC to get a Very Rare Neutronium…
Ah, that makes sense then, thanks. I was thinking if not I have some major problems with my build all of a sudden for some reason. I mean you expect the Borg to be powerful but I only just noticed that they got tougher. It was weird. I suppose I would not gain much resistance to damage by switching back to my Science…
Thought I'd throw in my two cents again. When I used the latest driver I got the crash to the desktop randomly. I am now using an older Intel driver that I switched to when this first started occurring (one older than the one released in October). The game now runs without any crashing to desktop. I do however see a shader…
Have not tried the above yet, tried all else I could think of or has been suggested. I did search for the Intel Recovery Manager after first seeing this message but did not find it on my system. I'm guessing it's either the Windows Programs and Features section they could be referring to (I know there is a re-install…
Okay I finally had time to test things out. After changing to the latest driver for my integrated Intel i3 video, I set the max performance setting and started playing. At first it seemed to have worked but I suddenly got a random crash again. The test was done with the video limit set at 768. I changed it to 1024+ and it…
I already tried changing mine to 768 in game options (it still crashed on 1024+) and haven't had time to really test it yet. I have not tried looking for a max performance setting on my Intel integrated card either. I don't remember seeing that in there last time I was looking for something else though. If you are correct…
I see. I thought you were talking about something else they suggested. I tried that all in the first post before. It had no effect for me. I still got crashes.
What did they say to do? I've started to try another solution just for the heck of it that I saw in another thread. Basically just change the video memory max to 768 in the troubleshooting section under game options. It's defaulted to AUTO and the thought was that the game with its new coding is sending too much info to…
Thanks for the solution. I did not download that exact driver but I was able to use another older one already present on the system (using the option to tell windows which driver to use) and it works nearly perfectly (I get a slight "stutter" now and then, but it does not crash to the desktop). We have something…
I don't think it would be the processor itself that would make or break the performance (always been my experience that with very few exceptions RAM is much more important). I have an i3 in my two-year old Sony Vaio notebook and it runs STO decently enough on mid-range settings (I had to downgrade my graphics driver…
Well, thought I'd update my status. I downgraded my driver and it seems to have "fixed" it. At least it's not crashing I mean. There's a slight slow down in place of a outright crash. I could be wrong about this being on Cryptic's side but the slowdown that remains reminds me there's still something wrong. At least I can…
I have the same issue as you and others do drkfrontiers. I have a Sony Vaio laptop with 4 GB of RAM, Intel 2.23 GHz i3 Core processor, integrated Intel HD graphics, and Windows 8 Pro installed. Prior to Season 7 my specs were just fine for the game. But now I get a random blink to desktop (in full screen) and and error…
