• i always had issues with steam messing up my install i just installed sto without steam no more issues ever again sorry i am not more help but sto and steam never really played nice with each other

• the only other option is to contact customer support to prove who you are and get them to change it for you at this happened to a friend who changed service providers and lost his old email
