I agree the flash could be more intense. and the bright flash in the distance shouldn't have been removed. I would be perfectly fine with the STO devs adding their own improvements to it.

Yes it would be inconsistent, but i bet you 90% of us are using a bridge that doesn't match the ship (especially since they apparently can't make the ship display vary.), and in some cases wouldn't actually fit in our ships bridge spot. that's not stopping us. yeah but big difference is no energy credits to do it in exchange your still taking the commute time and you can work on duty rosters and the like while you wait which is what all of the captains we know an love did while waiting to arrive at their destination
