Thank you. The JHDC has innate subsystem targeting, so there's no need to use up BOFF slots on those. Are the Romulan Reputation beams still the best out there?
Would you mind going into details about that? The build you describe sounds interesting, but I would like to know some specifics. What skill layout, for instance? What exactly is the optimal DOFF setup?
I have considered going with a beam boat if I ever take the JHDC into PvP. Because of the relative stupidity of the AI, however, I can keep cannons trained on the enemy with ease.
Normally I wouldn't bother with a 'rainbow build,' but the obelisk AP array had better DPS than the turret formerly in that slot. As soon as I purchase a superior plasma turret, it will be replaced.
In PvE, especially elite STFs, the small firing arc of dual cannons really isn't an issue. If you plan to run STFs, you may want to consider running multiple torpedoes. If you choose to do so, the adapted MACO two-piece bonus is very effective.
Am I to assume that the optimal build is some variation of Beam Arrays with a Romulan or Omega torpedo in the fore slots, with additional beams and a KCB in the rear?
At the moment, the closest you can get is the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought, which has the largest hull in the game. However, the ship's BOFF stations and console mods gear it more as an offensive tank, rather than the role of support most cruisers take. That being said, it is one of the best carriers in game, provided you have…
I agree with this, but am unsure what my opinion would be as to the Assimilated Module and similar, which add a passive bonus to one or more skills. Should these remain consoles, or should they be made devices, with the rest of the Universal Consoles?
